I love that you post China Glaze swatches, so many other gurus pass on them and they're my favourite brand and it's great that you're so honest about what you think of them!
Wow first time I've seen someone actually use the polish in swatches, not just use a fake nail. Love this! I had pack lightly ordered for me as a gift I couldn't wait to find out what color is actually came out vs the shown photo. I learned so much from this lol love the way you did this!
I can't tell you how much I appreciate these live swatches!! I know it's a ton of work for you but it is the best way to actually see what these formulas are like! Thanks so much ☺️
Hi! I just purchased OPI's Put a Coat on....to use under these shimmer polishes. When I did a nail swatch using Pack Lightly, I only needed one coat of the undie and one coat of Pack Lightly....Now, I will use 2 coats...but you could get away with using only one. Undie base coat made a world of difference with these pastel polishes....
I absolutely love your videos!!! I'm going on a beach vaca soon and these colors got me so excited ! Also you nails are perfection, totally healthy and perfectly shaped! I wish I had you to do my nails!! Haha!
Pop the Trunk and License and Registration are my favourite ... some look iffy .. but as an addict I will be getting the whole set (shocking). Love your swatches as always ! Thank you !
So glad for your live swatches. Not feeling these colors at all. I haven't been interested in a CG collection in awhile, I've just had the worst luck with their formulas, especially the last neon collection that came out in 2013, haven't bought any CG since then.
I was so jazzed about Sun's Up Top Down but I'm reconsidering after your review of the formula. Le sigh. Thanks for the vid - it really helps to see someone apply them!
I picked these up a couple weeks ago and because of my years of experience with China Glaze I knew I only wanted the cremes. So I picked up those 6 and left the shimmers behind because I figured the formulas would be pretty crappy. I think it probably was the angle you were having to paint your nails that caused u to need that many coats..i haven't had issues with the cremes like u seemed to in this vid. I love these colours though...most are nice and crisp and spring-y :)
Thanks for watching! I want to think it was the angle, but I've done quite a few live swatch videos and never had this issue before. I'm starting to think I had a different batch, maybe a very early one?
***** Yeah, maybe so? That's the thing with China Glaze..always love their fun colors and array of choices but there's a lot of inconsistency in their formulas.
LU ABUZAID You know, I'm also thinking it may be because I don't use a base coat when I do live swatches? I like to skip it to show the true formula of the polish.
***** you know what? that's very possible..i wear a sticky base usually (Orly Bonder) and i'm wearing ChG Boho Blues right now..two pretty easy coats..a tiny bit watery on first coat but after that it was cool
Pretty colors. I always find if I have a streaky or grabby polish using a base coat that will grab makes it easier. I had a cantankerous China Glaze yesterday that I LOVED the Color, Prey Tell, and it really gave me fits. I broke ranks and used the Primer for Infinite Shine by OPI underneath. Prey Tell then went on like a champ. I look at it this way, sheers can always be used for nail art! LOL Everything always looks good on you anyway :-)
Lori Duncan That's a great tip! Thanks! I don't usually like to do my live swatches over base coat because I want to show how the polish applies on its own. but THAT might be why I seem to have issues that other reviews didn't.
I get Ya. We shouldn't have to use tops or bottom coats just to make a polish apply well. That should have been tested and fixed before polishes were rolled out. But that's just me. However, if the color is pretty enough and the formula is not a total nightmare, then it can be worth a little hair tearing out. It's not a total loss. I have some polishes I dread applying but when it's done I'm loving them on me! Plus when you are swatching, it is a pain in the popo to add the extra step of base coat. Especially if you're going to takeout on in 10 minutes! Lol
I bought three of these polishes, but I've only worn License and Registration Please so far. I definitely noticed that the polish was dripping down the handle of the brush, but once I had the polish on I wore it for 4-5 days with no chipping!
Jessica Pemberton That's an awesome wear time! I haven't had the time to wear any of these for a full manicure so that makes me MUCH more optimistic about this collection! Thanks!
Lovely swatches and video as always. I really like My Way or the Highway but I was wondering if you had any staining on removal? Also is it bad that I just assume that China Glaze's spring and summer collections always have not-so-nice formulas? Seems to be a bit of a trend.
Vakarianify Obviously I don't keep them on too long for these videos, but in the little bit of time (15 minutes maybe?) that it was on, I had no staining! I also agree that I always expect their spring and summer collections (spring especially) to have bad formulas.
***** Yeah, I figured you probably didn't wear them for long after I posted the comment, haha! I looked on a few other reviews and they've all said no staining either, so hopefully I'll finally be able to find a teal that doesn't give me smurf fingers, haha!
Fantastic! while I like all of the colours, I really love the creams the most, I hate sheer polishes personally they are so frustrating! I prefer 2 coats then done! but the finished result of all these polishes turned out well. I love the collection concept and names, over all I'm impressed :).
***** Hi Jess, you mention your patches here. Which patching material do you use? I have ASP Lightless Gel that I use with silk. Sally's quit carrying it and I find it's hard to keep on my nails and have it be even. Also, I may buy the Electric Nights polishes you used in your vertical gradient. What is a better yellow that I should include?
colormegrape This yellow should be fine because you need to layer the gradient over white anyway. I use the same thing for patches, but I haven't had to purchase in a while so I wasn't aware that Sally's doesn't carry it anymore!
These colors get me so excited for spring, but man so many 3+ coaters! Theres very few polishes that I would put forth that effort outside of swatching. So far the 2015 mainstream spring collections have been very underwhelming. I'm convinced that we're not going to get another ElectroPop style hit spring collection out of them anytime soon...
I won this collection on China Glaze's Instagram giveaway they're having, and now after seeing this video I'm really hesitant for the polishes to arrive.
not feeling this collection which is a bummer and i aint got the time and patience to do 4 coaters, glad i watched this before ordering any although i may still pick 1 or 2 up its the collector in me:) great swatches x
RACHEL KERR Thanks! I've worked with them a bit more after filming this, because every review I've read has contradicted what I experienced. If you do REALLY thin coats they are much easier to work with and come out better. Still all 2 or 3 coaters though. I tend to do thick coats anyway, but you really can't do that with these ones.
Vivian E I thought about that, but I only had patched on two nails and all four were streaky, so I hate to say it, but I think it's just the polish. Thanks for watching!
More to Explore i think would be really awesome if you sponge on a bit of red at the tips and make it kinda like a gradient and then maybe top it off with a top coat or china glaze's fairy dust
License and Registration Please reminds me of The Original Pacific Blue from Sally Hansen. Possibly one of the closest dupes? Unless it looks different on camera to me Hahaha
As much as some of these colors are lovely, I am not a fan of 3 coater polishes. It's just tedious and get's too thick on my nail. I will pass on these, since I feel like I have some similar colors already to this collection.
Boho blues looks so pretty on your nails, but imma stay farrr away from if. Had an experience with an almost identical polish by sinful colors. It was really pretty in the bottle, cut on my nails it looked like a 6 year old's special little kid polish and it looked baadd
Grace Lascelles I just wait until the first coat is dry to the touch. That time can vary between formulas and thickness of coats. It's usually 5-10 minutes.
Does anyone know of any dupes for pack lightly, wanderlust, boho blues and more to explore? The colours are beautiful but the formula is putting me off.
My Way.....Highway compares to Too Yatch to Handle?? I just don't get CG polish. It's the worst yet I have more of it than any. I won't buy any more. I have the Boho Blues. So hard to manage. You make them look so easy. I have big nail beds. Maybe that and drying time plays a role. With having to use so many coats of this, it'd never dry without Seche Vite Top Coat!
mzqtpie73 I wish that was the case, but I've been trying every trick and coat thickness I can think of and they're still performing this way. My friends have been having the same problem..so I'm not sure what's going on!
It's not just you, these polishes are extremely runny and most are very thin/streaky. They definitely had a crelly vibe to me but still, the formulas were crap in my opinion. I needed 3-4 coats with 6 of the polishes, and I think that's just excessive. Nobody has time to let 4 coats dry.. Very disappointed with this collection.
It makes me feel soooo much better knowing that you had a similar experience with these! I haven't seen any similar reviews and I was starting to think I'm crazy.
I liked the two bright reds and more to explore is a better formula than son of a peach which is just a nightmare to work with, awful formula, nice review and swatches though
I've always worn OPI polish, but after watching your China Glaze videos I definitely bought a few online! Thank you so much for mentioning head2toebeauty.com, AMAZING website & great prices! I will ALWAYS check there before having to pay more anywhere else! I love love LOVE your channel! 😊😊😊😊
Yeah, swatch sticks can't be a true test, they're plastic and not as porous or variegated as the human nail plate. Naturally Polish is going to apply differently. So maybe a base coat is sort of recreating the smoother less porous plastic swatch stick? lol
Lori Duncan That's what I'm thinking. So now I'm debating if I should keep swatching without base coat or start using it. I usually don't because 1) I want to show how the polish applies, un-aided, and 2) not everyone is going to use the same base coat as I do and get the same results. China Glaze has torn my whole live swatching world apart...lol
Oh man, this whole collection looks like a total nightmare. I really wanted to like Trip of a Lime Time but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to pass on all of these.
6 times and I still get people asking which is which. I'll look into leaving the name on the screen during the swatches rather than repeating it, but it probably won't change. Thanks for watching!
I feel like this whole collection was one big swing and a miss. None of the polishes had good formulas, those yellows were just ugly colors in general (in my opinion; not a yellow polish kinda girl), and none of them were even unique colors. If a polish was a beautiful, never-before-seen shade, I can see dealing with a bad formula, but they all seemed like they've probably been done before. It seems like you wouldn't have to look too far to find a dupe for any color in this collection.
I love that you post China Glaze swatches, so many other gurus pass on them and they're my favourite brand and it's great that you're so honest about what you think of them!
Thank you! They're one of my favorites too!
Wow first time I've seen someone actually use the polish in swatches, not just use a fake nail. Love this! I had pack lightly ordered for me as a gift I couldn't wait to find out what color is actually came out vs the shown photo. I learned so much from this lol love the way you did this!

Thank you! I love doing these videos!
You have the best live swatches videos!! Great job!
TheTenderedSoul Thank you so much!
MsTeachk25 Thanks! I'm thinking that's the only way to really wear those ones!
I love the way you do all your swatches. Keep it up!!
I absolutely love your videos!!! I'm going on a beach vaca soon and these colors got me so excited ! Also you nails are perfection, totally healthy and perfectly shaped! I wish I had you to do my nails!! Haha!

Your live swatches are fabulous, one more reason to love your videos!!!!
Maro Fontaine Thank you!!!
I'm late to the game and just bought Wanderlust and Dashboard Dreamer, I don't mind 3 coaters tho so I'm excited to wear them! :)
So glad for your live swatches. Not feeling these colors at all. I haven't been interested in a CG collection in awhile, I've just had the worst luck with their formulas, especially the last neon collection that came out in 2013, haven't bought any CG since then.
Their spring and summer collections seem to always be misses for me!
8:25 I love boho blues, its like cinderella blue. so pretty
I was so jazzed about Sun's Up Top Down but I'm reconsidering after your review of the formula. Le sigh. Thanks for the vid - it really helps to see someone apply them!
Yes, it's definitely not one of the good ones!
I loved it. I wrote down all the names you mention so I know exactly what to get from china glaze in the creamy polish collection
I just found your channel and I love it!! ❤️
MelsMakeup88 Thank you!

3 coaters and runny formulas are never my favorites. But those blues and pastels are just beautiful!!
Sparkle Central The non shimmers have pretty decent formulas!
Was so tempted to buy this collection but the formulas are a massive let down! Sooo unsure now! Pretty colours though, how frustrating! Great vid x
There are some good formulas in here, they're just few and far between!
Boo for watery, streaky formulas! And...boo for *having* to apply 3 coats!! Dat blue, tho! As always, great swatching! ♥
Thanks Lu!

woah you have really bright camera settings i was almost blinded by i brake for color haha!
TheSweetified My camera cannot handle orange...lol

love these colors - would try an "undie" color for ones such as Pack Lightly I think....
Michelle Lyman Yes, you'd almost have to!
Colors are beautiful...thanks for the swatches :-)....I'm disappointed in the 3 coaters..I don't do 3/coaters :-(
Julie A I'm a bit disappointed with them too. I will say they applied much better on my swatch sticks than on my actual nail!
These colors get me so excited for spring, but man so many 3+ coaters! Theres very few polishes that I would put forth that effort outside of swatching. i bought more to explore. very sunny color, definately for trips

I love I break for color I think it would look gorgeous with China glazes fairy dust on top....I love sparkly polishes lol
Christina Lang Thats a great idea! Thanks for watching!
Just wondering, when will the dupe video be up..?
yerikendi mejia As soon as possible. I work 40 hours a week and that video is going to take a lot of time.

I'll stick them together. I don't think they're dupes, but I could be wrong!
I just got Pack Lightly and Boho Blues in the mail. Exciting. :D (and For Audrey and Liquid Leather)
Stefanie Roy I hope you like them!
***** already obsessed with For Audrey. Lol
Love this swatch! I am not sure I will get any of these though.... :-(
Midwest Mom Thanks for watching!
I don't have Cuba glaze WHAT DO I DO😥😭😭😭😥

Agreed. PS - I sent you a direct message on IG.
Boho blues looks so pretty on your nails, but imma stay farrr away from if. Had an experience with an almost identical polish by sinful colors. It was really pretty in the bottle, cut on my nails it looked like a 6 year old's special little kid polish and it looked baadd
5hillfam
Such a shame; the shades I wanted were the ones with the worst formulas. Great video - I've saved myself some money.
That's a bummer :( but thanks for watching!
Does "My way or the highway" stain your nails?
how long do you normally wait for your nails to dry for?
Grace Lascelles I just wait until the first coat is dry to the touch. That time can vary between formulas and thickness of coats. It's usually 5-10 minutes.
On average, how long do the China Glaze polishes take to dry? x
MegaMegan1717 Dry time isn't really determined by the brand, but more so the formula. I usually wait 5-10 minutes before doing another coat.
Does anyone know of any dupes for pack lightly, wanderlust, boho blues and more to explore? The colours are beautiful but the formula is putting me off.
Rhianna Freebairn I don't know of any. Secret Periwinkle is probably as close to Boho Blues that I can think of.
For wanderlust, I would say Nicole by opis play fair. I'm not sure if they still sell this, but you could probs find them on eBay
Ah thank you :) I'll check it out.
How much time do u wait to put the second coats
Lilyan Fierro Until the first coat is dry enough that the second coat doesn't affect it. That time varies from polish to polish
Thx
Can u do a battle of the top coat (if u having already)
That's a fantastic idea!
Thank u!
Ooooh yah I need that
omg...I want all of these...so gorgeous
C MICHELLE Thanks for watching!
I love your live swatches videos! This collection has some pretty colors but I'm not impressed with the formulas at all
Milena Brandão Thank you! I totally agree!
I think you may be applying the polish to thick and going over the nail to many times. That may or may not be causing the streaking.
mzqtpie73 I wish that was the case, but I've been trying every trick and coat thickness I can think of and they're still performing this way.
I bought quite a few China Glaze bottles and all of them have been to thick so I don't really like China glaze!(;
aghamster101 That sucks! I've worked with these a bit more and if you do painfully thin coats, they're much easier to work with!
What is your favourite polish from the collection?
alycatsnoopy Probably "License and Registration, PLS" :)
You do a good job painting your nails first person too watch
follow me around summer Thank you!!
I guess you have to sacrifice formula for kick butt shimmer.(x
So sad, I really like the look of Pack Lightly... but not chancing it with that formula!
I liked the two bright reds and more to explore is a better formula than son of a peach which is just a nightmare to work with, awful formula, nice review and swatches though
Thank you!
I've always worn OPI polish, but after watching your China Glaze videos I definitely bought a few online! Thank you so much for mentioning head2toebeauty.com, AMAZING website & great prices! I will ALWAYS check there before having to pay more anywhere else! I love love LOVE your channel! 😊😊😊😊
+Harlee W Thank you!
I'm not feeling this collection at all. But I've been much pickier about the polish I buy lately.
There are a couple gems, but I'm pretty underwhelmed overall.
The colors are beautiful but it sucks that they're so thin and runny.
I totally agree!
WOW!! This collections seems like it's too much work.... Who has time for 3 coats of polish!
I wasn't super impressed!
WE'RE TURNING INTO HUMAN SWATCH STICKS!!!! Lol
It's really a shame about the formulas in this collection because it's rare that I love every single color like I do with this one =\
+pointeprincess302 I was bummed about them too.
Oh man, this whole collection looks like a total nightmare. I really wanted to like Trip of a Lime Time but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to pass on all of these.
Amy Carlino I've heard some good reviews too...but I'm really not feeling this one
Gorgeous color and crap formulas...I'd treat them like I do white polish; matte topcoat as a base. Give the polish some grip!
Margeaux4013 That's probably the only way I'll be able to use them!
I love the dark pink do you want to be friends
Itza Garcia Thanks for watching! Of course we can be friends :)
I love your reviews and swatches, but it's really annoying for me how many times you say the name of each polish.. No less than 6 times per polish...
MCRmyGeneral I was very unimpressed with this collection from one end to the other!
China sorry
Meh....this collection is underwhelming. Nothing really caught my eye and I LOVE spring colors!
tamcar04 I agree!
Same here. :-/
