If there was good ending i would prefer putting seven chaos emeralds 2 in metalic madness and scrap brain and 3 in labirynth (ofc not so sonic becomes super sonic). So if sonic would collect 5 chaos emeralds and knuckles that 2 sonic could bring time back or make so little planet never fell down.

When sonic defeat eggman, somehow the little planet falls down and sonic runs and drops to labyrinth while tails and Amy see the little plant falls down too but its too late so sonic explored labyrinth and sees an goal ring (not the alt ending lol) so sonic ends up in the palmtree panic zone, he walks forward, then he sees tails and Amy dead, and sonic runs to green Hill to hang himself

Instead of him killing himself at Green Hill Zone, the emerald wakes up Knuckles. Knuckles then goes to find Sonic when he finds him, stops him from jumping into the spikes. He then tries to help him but because of Sonic's Trauma from seeing his dead friends runs off, with Knuckles being worried about him and follows him.

Also i throught that Eggman died in Metallic Madness Zone when the little planet fell down, but if he died on scrap brain zone, then, how did he escape from Metallic Madness before the little planet fell down to the earth? Or is it that Sonic went insane and killed his own friends and that's why both Sonic's POV and Knuckles' POV are different?
It's kind of ironic in a way knuckles went from trying to kill sonic to stoping him for committing suicide, I also think this is realistic if eggman killed those two

In the comics the island has a energy shield that protects it from outside forces if all of the emeralds all present, hence why you need to collect it in Labyrinth zone (or at least I assume so). Not doing so would lead to the island and Knuckles being swept away as well.
