- Britain is suffering a “nervous breakdown” over its failure to get a grip on immigration, says Albania’s prime minister.
Speaking at the Delphi economic forum in Greece, Edi Rama said Britain was in a “bad, bad place” which was why its ministers had tried to blame Albania for its Channel migration crisis.
“They are in such a bad place the poor Brits that they have to go after Albanians to feel like they have the muscle still,” said Mr Rama during an interview at the forum.
“No problem. We have a great respect for Britain and for what Britain represents and for the British history and culture so we will bear with them until they have overcome this situation.
“We used to think in terms of ‘Wow! The Brits are talking evil about us.’ So what. It is not our problem. It is their problem.”
Asked by the interviewer whether he felt it could become Albania’s problem if another country spoke that way about its citizens, Mr Rama replied: “We have fought against it and now we see they have calmed down a bit.

Don't get me wrong. I don't think the EU is brilliant. I am glad that the UK voted to leave it as I live in the UK. I sort of understand why people are risking their lives to escape the EU, but the UK isn't built to be a life raft. There are many people in France, Germany, Italy, Greece and the Netherlands fighting for EU reform/abolition. Instead of running away to the UK would it not be better for these citizens to fight the EU establishment alongside their fellow EU citizens to make the EU into a Union that they don't want to leave?

I agree on the 'nervous' part but I'm also not sure the opinion of a man whos people would rather go to a country thats having a 'nervous brewkdown' than stay in the one he's running.
