  • Here’s how to create a batch from an existing protocol.
    First open the batches page.
Click Create a New Batch from an existing Protocol.
Type the batch name I the batch name box.
Type a description about the batch in the Enter Optional Description box.
Click the existing protocol you wish to use in the select a protocol list.
    Click Next.
If the protocol uses standards, controls or both the next tab that opens is the standards and controls tab.
Verify the details of the active reagents, or apply different assay standards, controls or both, or manually enter new information.
    Select Next.
If the selected protocol does not use standards or controls, the next tab that opens is the plate layout tab.
Using the dropdowns, set your replicate count and grouping selection.
Replicate count will set the number of times the Same sample will be tested from different wells.
And grouping determines the order that replicates will appear on the plate.
Clicking either pre batch routine or post batch routine opens the command and routines dialog box, where you can select the command or routine you want to perform before or after running a batch.
Select whether you want the commands on the plate to be run vertically or horizontally.
After completely setting up the plate, highlight the number of wells you want to run samples from and add all or your unknowns. Depending on the way you set up your replicate count, grouping, and direction the software numbers the wells accordingly.
The plate navigation area displays a smaller version of the plate being run. With 96 well plates, the entire plate can be seen. With 384-well plates the plate navigation is used to select different parts of the plate.
When setting up a batch, if the number of sample exceeds the number of wells in one microtiter plate you can add additional plates by clicking the add plate button. This will open a blank plate for you to configure as needed. Use the dropdown to switch between plates.
On the plate layout tab, check the well commands for this batch. Make any modifications needed.
Clicking add after selecting a well opens the commands and routines dialog box for you to select a command or routine for that well.

    Verify the command sequence.
If you would like to change the order, select the command and use the move commands buttons to rearrange the commands.
If you have a text file with a list of patient names or identifiers for the samples being run, click the import list button and navigate to the location of the list. If you do not have that file, verify the ID for each unknown is descriptive enough for reporting.
Click the save protocol button to save the changes made to the protocol, or its standards and controls.
Click the Run Batch button to begin batch acquisition.
Or click Save to save the batch information to the Pending Batch list to be run at a later time. If the batch spans more than one plate the tray ejects automatically when all defined wells have been acquired. A dialogue box opens prompting you to inset the next plate.
