In this final episode of the Mendham, New Jersey reclaimed wood barn series I visit with Anthony at the Real Antique Wood Mill to go over the process once the wood from the barn leaves the job site and arrives at the mill. We look at the different types and species of timber, including White Oak and Chestnut and learn about milk paint from the barn and the milking stations. Be sure to check out the first two episodes of the barn takedown project.

Great series Jon. Always enjoy seeing how things were made back in the day and how we honor those skills by reclaiming this old history.
Circle cut on a table saw...you learn something new every day!
It's always sad when an old barn is neglected or comes down. Awesome job giving it new life!
Excellent John-many thanks for bringing us along.
Awesome Jon. Those guys seem like a lot of fun. Love the process...
Jon, youre videos are entertaining, informative and a pure pleasure to watch you ply your trade. Please keep the content coming, dont know what id do if i ran out of jon peters videos to watch.
Fantastic series Jon & thanks so much for taking us along! That Whitney planner was really awesome & that table top turned out great! Those guys do terrific work & that recycled barn wood is amazing!!
I love to see wood recycled instead of winding up in a landfill.
Have some furniture made with reclaimed wood. Lot of character. This guys at The Real Antique Wood Mill seem to be very good craftsmen
Looks like you may have brought a couple of souvenirs home with you! Thanks for including us in this journey. Makes me want to go and buy the whole lot from them.
Really enjoyed this series Jon & Anthony! Nice to see that amazing old barn live on thanks to Anthony and his team. Well done!
Please keep making long videos explaining what you're doing. I love those types of videos it's more interesting and professional. I enjoy it that way the most
Enjoyed the barn series, thank you. Chestnut is such a beautiful wood. I never saw so much of it in one place stacked in his shop!
Great series, definitely interested in seeing some more of these. Anthony seems like a cool guy that enjoys what he does and that makes it that much better :)
Yes he does!
Real Antique is the best. They have great material there
Thanks Adam!
Awesome videos! Indeed you don't see something like this every othrr day. Thanks for sharing!
Wonderful series. Thank you.
That planer is one kick ass machine! Just the quality in material and build......those gears will last forever! Ah the days machines were built to last not to replace.
Great series.....Cheers
Really enjoyed this series. Thanks for sharing!
My eyes are wide open and excited to see all this wood!!! I freecycle as much wood as I can and I would even be excited about their reject boards. This was a great topic great job. Thx Jon
That planer was crazy awesome
Absolutely loved this series Jon 👏👏
Well done thanks I enjoy it very much and as always from watching your videos learned a few things.
Well done Jon. I’ve really enjoyed the videos. Much appreciated.
Great video, Anthony is an amazing and talented dude. 👌
Yes he is!
Beautiful series Jon. Thank you
I would love to dig through their off-cut bins!
Really fun series. Thanks for taking the time to introduce us to such a great business.
Great video Jon, I really enjoyed this series watching the process they go through from the barns to the reclaimed wood.
Really cool Jon, thanks for sharing! 😃👍🏻👊🏻
Three coats of gloss (water based finish), one of satin is quicker and you don't have to keep stirring the finish to keep the flattening agent suspended. Great looking tables. Good stuff. Thanks for the series.
👍
Great stuff. That circular cut was very nice. I stare at templates for 2-4 hours before I make (for me) serious cuts like that. No room for error.💪
Great series Jon, very interesting, thank you.
Very interesting.
Great Jon, Oh that lovely old wood, have a nice day !!!
Well I have to do it all by hand, but there is great satisfaction in taking some rough old bit of wood and planing it back to smooth pristine timber!
Really enjoyed this series. Talk Anthony into starting a RUclips channel or a collab with you.
That’s great
Nice, entertaining and inspiring.
👍
Thanks!
Quite the heavy NJ accent 👌
Wow part 3 was good, I’ll have to watch the other two. It recommended this one first... weird
My son in law gave me some chestnut from an old family tobacco barn that was built about 140 years ago. From the size of the pieces I guess that makes the wood around 200 years old. The barn was built with wood peg fasteners.
How did you debug it? not everybody as a container oven 😅
Boa noite muito bom video
Excuse me , I think I ordered the Large thickness planer ?
How can you treat it like a for bug and stabilizarion without a container oven 😅
I reuse so much wood that now my firewood has become useable lumber
I would consider buying a refurb from festoolrecon.com. I bought one for $1175 shipped. The one I received looked like it was almost brand new. It also came with a 1 year warranty.
Which video is Part 2 then? I assume the one where you take down the barn is Part 1?
