Two things - the roll bar on the chest is assembled upside down which is why you were having so much trouble closing the cockpit. Also the sliding rail on the back is meant to be a general purpose weapon storage mount. The iron fist cannon detaches from it once it is fitted onto the arm.
Whoever's designing this recent run of kits must really love like late 80s-early 00s chonky boi mecha. Getting lots of Assault Suits, Armored Core vibes.
Noticed that the chest piece below the chest camera is put the wrong way hence blocked the canopy from closing properly. Once that's out of the way the kit will look overall better and the head will protrude better. I like how you feature the base kit with other hexagear combinations.
Nice kit, nice bulk and a great addition to the Hexa Gear line! Combination with the Hightrager looks a bit odd. Maybe it's just the non-matching colours, but the proportions look a bit weird, having large bulky arms but thin spindly legs. Cool concept though, let's see what other interesting combinations we can get out of future kits!
Unfortunately, this is not a 1/12 scale figure. If you're looking for a robot that a 1/12th scale figure can ride, I recommend the Gigantic Arms Order Cradle. (However, this is only the torso that serves as the cockpit, and the hand and leg parts must be sourced and customized by the user).

Kotobukiya seems to be stepping-up their Hexa Gear game. That kit is very solid and well-designed.
Thank you so much for showing it with the Hightranger! Kotobukiya’s house brands really have freedom as their core design, huh?

The combination is pretty meh, but I appreciated they added the possibility.

that waist rotation is a very poor execution of an articulation, basically, it is a plastic rubbing plastic.
very chunky mech, a bit too chucky for my taste but it does look good.
