Jillian Edelstein

Martin evening talks to Jillian Edelstein.
Jillian was born and grew up in South Africa. She graduated as a social worker before starting work as a press photographer in Johannesburg in 1981. She moved to London in 1985 and began working as a freelance photographer in 1986.
Her photographs have been exhibited internationally including the National Portrait Gallery, The Photographers' Gallery, The Royal Academy, OXO Gallery in London, Sothebys, Les Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in France, Bensusan Museum, Robben Island Museum in South Africa and Dali International Photography Festival, Yunnan Province, China.
In 2018 the Royal Photographic Society included Jillian in the ‘Hundred Heroines’ list of women from across the world who are transforming photography today.
