Yes, you are correct but in this specific episode, she is GLORIFYING suicide. Think of anyone that comes across this episode contemplating doing it and hears her say she loved the feeling and misses it to this day!! Anyone struggling can easily be influenced. There should , at minimum, be a warning or something in the beginning of this story/other stories on this channel. Or stop the glorifying of it when it starts. It’s not mature, it’s not safe and it’s def not cool and by her tone and laughing and constantly saying “period” “bitch” “slay” is so gross

I think the internet is not used to seeing someone who is not fully recovered and someone who may never recover or may not survive. Not everyone can get thru it, we also are used to seeing her vids where people have had these things happen so long ago but she’s really young. The internet is sensitive and emotional, everyone gets “triggered” so easily by what she’s saying because they aren’t dealing with their own emotions and don’t know who they are yet. I respect this vid. It’s different and can be hard to watch, and she’s definitely unwell. This is her life and her reality whether you like it or not or are triggered by it

This is a very important interview. No, she's not healed, and yes, she is glorifying suicide, or at least death. But people need to hear from people with this mindset. Doctors, parents, and friends need to know that their patients, their children, their friends may be feeling like this. Is it shocking? Yes. Is it triggering? Extremely, and I think Dev needs to be more diligent about giving verbal trigger warnings at the beginnings of videos. But it's also a perspective that very much exists and needs to be heard, especially if we're serious about mental health awareness.

As someone who deals with (nearly constant) suicidal ideations, listening to this was so unhealthy. I was hoping to hear someone who talked about hope after suicide attempts and about healing. Instead, what I found was justification. So the small % of me that found comfort in hearing someone talk about something I can relate to is overwhelming outnumbered by the % of me that now has to do hours of therapy to try and “undo” the justifications she gave to the depressed part of my brain. And I’m in my 30’s and have a huge support system and access to great therapeutic resources. Image those who don’t…

The people calling her immature clearly do not understand trauma. The title of this video is not “I’m healed and fixed” like come on she never once said she didn’t need help or what she did wasn’t serious. Her mannerisms and nonchalant tone can be her way of coping she didn’t have a great childhood so as an adult it’s not uncommon for adult who had a traumatic childhood to have childlike traits especially if they feel safety to do so in adulthood. Coping mechanisms are normal for everyone I myself laugh when I am talking about traumatic things to my therapist no what I’ve been through is not funny but making it a joke makes it so much easier to talk about and say out loud. As someone who has worked with several people similar to Bri; them being suicidal, glorifying death, severe self harm etc, I really appreciate this perspective. Since this perspective is rarely seen unless you work in a psychiatric hospital like I do. I want to be clear that I totally agree with him, patients with those kinds of issues basically ALWAYS get worse when they're hospitalized. And thankfully the hospitals where I'm from don't seem to work the same way at all. Honestly I was quite horrified first time I met a person similar to Bri. But the more I worked with them the more I started to understand the glorification, realizing it was the escape and fantasy that was alluring to them. I've sat next to people who had bit severe wounds, or cut, and the obsession with their own blood and just wallowing in the darkness of it all. It is a very "odd" side of the story when you haven't felt it or been near it at all. I think we need to allow people to tell all parts of their story. Living with the weight of knowing how comfortable death can be as compared to how painful life is is HARD. It can make those with depression even more unable to move past suicidal ideations. The key is finding things in life that are worth sticking around for. There’s so much left to see and live through in this life. So many positive experiences, and so much comfort. We’ve only got one go at this world as us. I hope she finds peace in this world. I’ve only just started to become more settled and happy at 26, and I still have a long way to go, but if I can turn it around anyone can. Much love to all of those who struggle with similar things.

Unfortunately it’s not that simple because if someone wants to go they will go and nothing no one can do about it. It’s selfish and cruel expecting those who are living unbearable amounts of pain to stay just because people want them to live. It’s like expecting an adult who’s got no quality of life to keep on living because we want them to stay because it’s sad. No one has a say over wether someone chooses to live or die and death by suicide will always happen because life is cruel and unless the world is a better place and people are better people it will keep on happening. This story is so important, I think it's really good that Bri recognized that while she 'misses' that feeling she would never do this again because she knows how much it would hurt her family and friends. I don't think it's glamorizing it I think it's the reality of her life and that's the point of this show - for people to learn about others and what they are going through. For everyone saying she is glorifying suicide, yes, maybe she is. BUT She is NOT the only one describing death as a „good“ feeling. Maybe she hasn’t healed and matured at all, but maybe she is also telling the truth about how death feels like in general. Many people that experienced death, wether it’s because of suicide or other circumstances, describe it as something peaceful and when they came back they actually felt sad and not ready for life. I think her feelings about death need to be validated as much as the feeling of someone glorifying life. Yes, life is hard. It’s not easy. Some people lose the spark for life and we need to hear them out too. I hope she finds a way to find peace in her life and not in her death.

I think this would've been better served more than one year out from the event, and after a lot more recovery and maturing. I'm used to these stories having a much more stable resolution at the end. I was left still really fearing for Bri's life while she doesn't seem to at all, and I don't know how much the internet - especially impressionable, unstable, depressive people - need to hear about the euphoria of succeeding in s*icide...

She couldn't tell a coherent story or avoid shitting on various people (Christians, her friends, cops who helped save her life, etc.) throughout her interview. She still strikes me as having no insight & needing mental healthcare. I have therapy twice a week due to extreme trauma. Sometimes we need to get healthier before we start trying to share our trauma with others. She needed to tell this story from start to finish to a couple friends because coming on & fumbling through a podcast. I worry she is still a danger to herself.

I didn't watch this video with the hopes that it would "please me" and I was not triggered by it. There is nothing pleasing about many of the stories on this channel, but a good majority of them are told by people who have a lot more mental maturity about whatever experience they're sharing than does Bri. It's perfectly ok for me to say that I believe some things don't belong on the internet, and this is one of them. I am both a mother and have persistent depressive disorder. I can see this young lady from both angles and I really, really hurt for her. I think she needs a tighter circle of support and recovery before she gives the story to an audience of at least 400,000 people who could be influenced by her claims of euphoric self death.
I don't expect at all that that will have any influence on whether the video will stay up, but I have just as much right to share my concern as you do your...whatever you feel about this story.

I empathise with this woman so much, my 1st suicide attempt was when I was 12 too!
I grew up in a very violent household and I tried to kill myself to stop the fighting.
I grabbed the pull down light switch in the bathroom and tried to hang myself with it.
The switches in England have a safety clip on them that I didn't notice, but of course, the clip activated and released the pull switch and I fell down.
The fighting didn't stop and I didn't stop wanting to garner the attention to stop it, I now find it hard to deal with confrontation, loud bangs scare me, I have severe PTSD, severe anxiety and severe depression. (All now diagnosed)
I was "fine" for a series of years until there was a very large trigger, which made me spiral to the point where I would go to a bridge near our house and stand there waiting for the traffic to go by below, with my eyes closed and listen to the rush of wind and cars to try and soothe the want to die.
I started doing a mental health course and finding correlations between me and triggers and I went to the doctors and they got me into therapy very quickly, put me on a high risk register, and I did CBT. Best thing I'd ever done.
On another note though, she seems like she needs some more help to deal with her mental health issues.
    ❤❤

Good that things are better for you now and that you are beginning to feel love for yourself. As you said at the end you do have a purpose and giving love feels so good. I also love the fact that you are vegan, it shows your big heart. Wish you the best!

This story is so relatable. Somehow though the process of the triggers leading to remembering the nightmares of my past have simply left me incredibly grateful for the life I live today. If you were to tell me not only would I live, but i would LOVE my life. Pshh i would have thought that was crazy. But here i am! Props to this guest for the vulnerability in sharong their experience.

I feel for her but she’s got so much maturing to do for herself, and that alone would also be a part of healing, I feel like she jokes about it to help her through it but she still seems afraid to actually accept what happened, and she also seems very entitled to what she believes in but constantly is putting others down for their beliefs or what they say. This episode was definitely frustrating to sit through the whole way!

Mental health patients are treated in such a dehumanizing way in Tennessee. I went to 2 psych wards in TN and both times just made me was to kms more and try harder next time. One of them was FOUR HOURS away from my house and thankfully they let my mom transport me. For me the reason was because that was the nearest one that had a bed open and when you attempt suicide they have to find you placement no matter how far

you all talk about supporting people with mental illness but when a mentally ill person starts talking you all put them down. I really enjoyed the rawness of this episode, you don't get to hear about these thoughts often. It's a new perspective and all I wish for Bri is that he will somehow find peace through life and start to heal and that's what all of you should be doing.
