All my life ive been a fan My dad took me to see her my first time Convention Hall Asbury Park NJ I was very little and i loved Alexander Beetle I have seen her at least 12 other times Once she did a concert in Boarders Books in Fort Lauderdale Also once in Carnegie Hall In this world she made a difference in many lives RIP
When you listen and you listen again and hear the voice words of this beyond genius woman your hair stands at attention as well as your body becomes frozen because you can't even imagine or believe that a singing voice so beautiful exists on our planet . I've only followed this genius Melanie 48 years when I listen to her voice and words to humanity I still cry because of her powerful instrumental Voice . No other voice could touch this genius in the history of the musical world cheers to all love Chris
Amen. Excellent comment. First heard Melanie over here in New Zealand on radio in 1970 when her third album 'Candles In The Rain' was released and singles 'Alexander Beetle' and 'What Have They Done to My Song Ma' were played. Do you know I was 7 years old then. However for me it is her cover of The Rolling Stones 'Ruby Tuesday' that touches me the most. I have heard many music artists cover that song BUT no body covers it like Melanie, no body. She even brings the song out better than The Stones. Now that's how great Melanie was. Best wishes to you from New Zealand.
I love Melanie... introduced to her when I was 4 with Alexander Beetle....and have loved her since and EVERY song she sings... especially Lay Down. I am now 55. ❣️
A pure treasure for any Melanie fan! My extreme gratitude for sharing this unique collection! A valuable addition to my Melanie collection! I have been listening to Melanie since her early days ( 1970's) and had never knew of this priceless gem until now! Absolutely love it, Joe! Thank You!!!!
You have no idea how happy I am that you uploaded this album... can't thank you enough Joe.... extremely rare album.... I doubt you can even find it....
Thanks for letting me know - I was wondering about that. I absolutely love her version of Chords at the Memorial concert for Phil Ochs. I bet he was a fascinating person.
Not that it matters. I was just wondering who you think was the most famous Earth Mama of the sixties Janis or Melanie? Janis will always live on in her recordings. She died sadly before she could bring love to all of the sad dejected and angry before she died. Cursed to die of her disease. So sad. However, Melanie lived on with bittersweet melodies and pop songs. She is an accomplished musician and songwriter yet sadly forgotten by current generations. Although she was never specifically political, I always thought of her as a Syron of the revolution. She's not responsible for my bais. I am just grateful to her for letting me feel hopeful. Hope is all I have ever had. I tHink this live album is probably the best one I have ever or will ever hear. I'm 48 and probably only some over sixty will agree. However Janis is probably more famous because her image was captured more and disseminated more often throughout the years.
Dein Auto. Unsere WG. Unser Apartment in Italien. Unser Zeltplatz. Meine Jura-Studium Zeiten müssen die Amis ja ungemein faszinieren.
I'm 71 now, loved Melanie and her music so much that I named my daughter after her. May you rest in peace Melanie.
