    At 2:35 you said it was not the case... And how you want people to express themselves and still be labeled human and not cut out... That is completely not true. I'm not sure where you live or where you're coming from but Candice has been all over the country and has spoken to many people in many activists, she's speaking for a broad perspective. For the most part yes many people are like what she is describing. No one is denying your guys's humanity for how you express yourselves. You can express yourself however you want I don't care. But when you try and force it down my throat is when I have a problem, and that's what Candice has a problem. When Harry styles was on that cover it was a message... We are in a forces down your throat men can be women. And Candice is saying if you want to think you are one go right ahead but you're not going to force it down my throat.

    Its oppressive when people cant have opinions. Most women dont like men in dresses. Alot of women complain about men being too feminine today and being single.

    • @EmmetMichael
      @EmmetMichael  4 года назад +3

      People can have whatever opinion they want. It doesn’t mean they need to call people names or criticize people for their own personal expression. The point is that it’s wrong to tell people what they should or shouldn’t wear, and to make assumptions about someone’s character based on something so trivial. I know plenty of women who are attracted to more feminine guys, and women who are more attracted to masculine men. Preference varies from person to person. You can’t say it’s only one way or the other.

    • @EmmetMichael
      @EmmetMichael  3 года назад +2

      @Kev T I didn’t say she couldn’t have an opinion, she can say whatever she wants. There’s more to men than being “strong to fight” or being good enough for “most women”. I’m sorry you’re so offended by that. Live and let live dude. How others choose to express themselves doesn’t effect you.

    • @EmmetMichael

      @Kev T HAHA do you know who Candace Owen’s is? I can’t reach out to her, she’s an extremely popular public figure. I don’t see her reaching out to anyone directly to have conversations either. She makes videos criticizing other people all the time. I just responded to it. I’m very well informed on what’s going on in the world. What a weird and completely unfounded conclusion for you to draw though.

    You are worried about the labels. You want many labels. Any label that sounds good to you. How is that stable and productive and worth any energy? You have to care about what people walk around and wear and look like because it is influencing everyone. Especially children.

    • @kannakanina6552
      @kannakanina6552 3 года назад +2

      The biggest problems with labels is that existing labels are inadequate and oppressive if they come with narrowly defined roles and expectations. To afford future generations more options to choose from is productive because it saves them the discomfort and confusion of feeling invalid as they are. It saves them from trying to be something they are not just to ‘fit’ into society. Having more options as far as labels and gender roles and presentations is not toxic but repressive labels and the gender roles attached to them are.

    Has it ever occurred to you people that live on the fringe of western society can only do that because the vast majority of people are (to put it simply) normal, and do relate to traditional masculine and feminine lifestyles? This isn't to say people that don't relate to traditional lifestyles are bad people, but they certainly would not have the same freedoms (or exist at all in some cases) without living in tolerant western societies built on the backs and the sacrifices of yes- masculine men.

    Imo I think you should have edited the video and reacted to it along side you cus the cutting back and forth makes it LOOK like you are tryna Argue her points. Candice isnt dumb there are some points she makes that ARE VALID and there is a reason why she has gotten to were she is now with certain debates she has. Now im not saying I agree with ALL of them but she makes some good ones. The issue I see here with what started that "Bring back manly men" thing she said is that Harry Styles or his camp or Hollywood in general all of a sudden want to hope on the band wagon of this "Express! Yourself/Woke" thing. Im Gay and remember growing up getting teased and bullied for even having certain traits. Fast forward all of a Sudden a Male "Celebrity" pops on a dress and the whole world glorifies it.....lets not forget that others have been doing IT FOR MANY YEARS but of course because they are not famous or on VOGUE of course its not cute. It takes a straight man to make it "Trend" and I say straight because from our knowledge Harry Styles is not known to prefer dating men so Id genuinely believe the dress thing if it came from people who have been known to do something like this to Express themselves (Billy Porter (love his fashion btw), Adam Lambert, Freddy Mercury rip, Lil Nas X etc. So no thats the only thing I question when I see certain artists try and take something that the community started which might not touch on Candices point but thats how I see it.
