- Hello Friends! For those of you who like really long chatty videos, this is the one for you! I asked Patreon, RUclips and Instagram if anyone had any burning questions that they wanted me to answer. People did, so I answered as many as I could pack into almost an hour long Q&A! I do hope that you enjoy! I got a lot of fun questions and a couple of really serious ones, so this is for sure a ride!

It took me forever to open up and talk with people on RUclips or Instagram! Now my challenge is to actually respond when my inner brain responds to them. It was hard but it's getting easier.
Updating! Got to the end finally.... We will be seeing family for the holidays. My son finally got to meet his great grandma (he is now 2.5) and we will FINALLY be done with our conversion so I can get back to sewing!
Hi there. Thank you for the update!! Fingers crossed for 2023 to be way better. I’m making a quilt for a wedding gift. I love designing quilts, love gifting them- but dang I hate sewing quilts, lol. I have my first lobster-tail bustle in the pipeline- my friend will be making an amazing avengers crossover bustle for Costume Con in San Jose in April. Will you be attending? I’m hoping to have my Nevers cosplay done by then. I have all the materials for my Desiree gown and coat. I’ve never done late Victorian and it will be all new to me. I also just drafted a medieval fitted gown with a friend and I want to make a cotton flannel one as a working mock-up to wear around the house this winter. I don’t actually have anywhere to wear medieval, I stopped going to SCA about 20 years ago, but it’s so pretty I need to make one. I also have fabric for, oh, about 20 other projects…. Yikes. 😅
As someone who has been financially insecure, I appreciate you being willing to be open about housing insecurity
I really appreciate what you shared about growing into a creative space rather than "making a Craft Room." It's changing my thinking already! And as always, thank you for sharing your thoughts and time with us.
I’m so glad!!
I lost my familiar in may. Life has not been the same since. Totally empathize for your circumstances.
Sorry for your loss, I lost mine a year and a half ago in May and it still hurts.
I am so sorry for your loss. I wish for healing, peace, and new blessings for you.
Oh it hits hard out of nowhere. I will get teary about my Baby Cat.
She was the best😔
As a kitten and adult, she only answered to Baby. Believe me I tried to name her many times, She loved her name as just, Baby. Her intelligence was higher than she should’ve shown. I’m glad she did, sharing that with us.
I’m so sorry for your loss, friend. 💖
Happy to have you back ! Happy holidays !
Here to the end! Welcome back, this lovely long video was a treat 💖
To the end ! So glad to see you back. Hope you feel better after this well deserved break. Your videos are some of my favourite, you have a very soothing voice, and I enjoying just crafting while watching you, whether it's knitting, sewing or doing some embroidery ! Have a lovely holiday time ! xx
To the end. Never actually commented anywhere on RUclips before, ever, but you're such a welcoming presence. I discovered CosTube creators around 2019, and vlog-style videos aren't usually my thing. But I was so impressed by the work you did to organize CoCoVid in 2020, and you earned tremendous respect for both getting that done and for including so many different people that too often get overlooked to contribute to conventions. I binged your videos after because you deserved those views, and I've been lurking her ever since. Your videos have been a pleasant companion through some marathon knitting sessions. Nearly finished the second sleeve on a sweater just now, and then I'll be very, very close to done with this project.
Also, thanks for the thoughts about a creative space; I just moved, and have my own room for my stuff for the very first time!
💖💖💖 aww thank you for all of your kind words!
Thanks for keeping me company at work on this last day before a holiday weekend!
Simply lovely! What a great Q&A. Happy holidays, Noelle :)
Alllll the way to the end!!! So glad to see you back here😀 I feel your UTube anniversary deserves a party!!
To the end! I just have to say that I adore your channel and following you on Instagram. You are kind without pulling punches, loving without judgement and unapologetic about being who you are and inspiring people to be loving and being themselves. You rock Noelle!
Awwww Thank you so much!!
As an introverted Capricorn, it never really occurred to me to just like slide into your DMs and be like hey do you want to be my friend. But, I want you to know that I'm so glad that you made this long chatty Q&A video because I've missed you and your content. Whenever I watch your videos it gives me the feeling of hanging out with a friend while they are sewing or doing their own thing - which during the pandemic I was really missing in my own life. On a separate note, are you still planning to attend Gigi's elevation in january? I'll be there and it would be awesome to meet you!
I'd like to know.... How does one even know how to DM someone? I've looked before, and I'm not sure I found what I was looking for.
It's always fun to listen to your Q&As. Thanks, Noelle. ❤
To the end! Missed watching your videos so much and I'm glad you're doing ok. Much love! ♥️
Yay!! It's so good to see you again ❤️
To the end. Wishing you and yours a wonderful holidays. Thank you so much for being awesome .
Thank you for your videos. I love the energy you give off. I don’t sew costumes/cosplay, but I sew mostly for quilts and the occasional pajama pants/shorts. I love having your videos playing while in my sewing room because it feels like I’m sewing and chatting with a friend. Especially the days I don’t want to sew but so close to having a project finished and I just want to get it done your videos help. So I love the long videos. Thank you for all you do! Happy New Year!
Love that you did all the holidays!
I’m late to watching this, but I absolutely stayed ‘until the end’! I hope you had a wonderful time with all your celebrations, may 2023 be kind to all of us xx
To the end! I actually (temporarily) stopped sewing, still love to see sewing/life videos! It's always a joy seeing yours ❤️ You spread a lot of good energy through them, I'm happy that you're also getting good energy back through the comments! Enjoy the end of the year and see you soon!
I am watching this late, but I watch because you make me feel better about the world. I adore sewing and you remind me of why I love it. Your kindness and gentle self is just lovely to sit with.
My holidays were a bit off center, but I got to see the people I love, and that was good. Looking forward to see what the new year brings.
To the end 😁 🥳 Happy sewing and thanks for keeping me company while I catalogued some patterns and set up a new sewing project notes binder! I hope your 2023 is fabulous!
So nice to see you again. Happy New Year.
I'm excited for you and all your holiday plans with your friends. Sounds like a loving and fun way to wrap up 2022 💖
Hello! So glad to see you’re ok. I was concerned but hoped you were taking time for yourself to regroup and rest. Best wishes for the season and new year. 🤗❤️
to the end! ooo i've been getting more and more into tablet/card weaving over the past couple years so i am very excited to see how weaving goes for you!
Welcome back! Missed you.
Thank you for vocalizing the importance of continuing on a project and learning from it! As someone who teaches textile crafts to children this is something I try to teach. The importance of completing the thing even if it is not *perfect* because there is so much to learn, not the last that it's ok for things to be flawed because they will be
Made it to the end! Q&A videos are always so satisfying - I really appreciated whoever asked about getting to know people, too. I think you've talked about this before, how you are extroverted and tend to just chat with people. It seems like once you learn to get over that initial fear, it's a lot easier to do - not that getting past it is just so easy! But it's so important to try. It's all well and good to acknowledge being introverted, and how fast your social meter can deplete, but it's also an easy thing to hide behind, I know from experience. Comment and run! It's fine!
To the end! Always love your Q & As. Need to clear my sewing space of all the debris from being the room of requirement for Christmas things. Then will hopefully pull out the mock up of Regency stays that I started yeaaaaarrrrsss ago and actually make them! So glad to see your vid and catch up this way. You were pummeled this fall and I'm glad you took the time you needed.
To the end. It's nice to see you back with great energy and optimism. I always feel like I am visiting with a friend when you post. Can't wait to finish my Christmas sewing --doll clothes for my granddaughter with tiny rolled edges and details. Can't wait to sew real sized clothes again. Happy holidays, thanks again for posting.
I'm glad you are back. I started watching you and your friends in 2018 during my cancer treatments. You always helped take my mind off of the pain. I am going for another biopsy soon and needed a calming video to watch today.
My kitty, Me-meow was 20 yrs when she passed. She stayed with me until my chemo was over. I understand your loss.
I hope your biopsy went well!
@@Costuming_Drama Yes! I am thrilled.
To the end. Love, love, love my Noelle time! It's so good to see you; glad you are over the plague. Everyone needs a break, and it's good to disconnect once in a while. I have withdrawals if you are gone for too long. LOL! Looking forward to the next video, and sewing.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful Holiday Season,
xoxo's Sandie🤗
To the end!! Love hearing all of your answers and opinions!! Also got super giddy when you read and answered my question. I definitely needed that serotonin burst. Have a great holiday!!!
To the end. I love your "chatty" videos as I can listen to them as I futz around with a minor sewing project. Total newbie so easily overwhelmed.....but, as you chat along it seems LESS intimidating!
SO glad you rested it. You MUST take care of yourself.
Wishing you a lovely holiday.
To the end! I have appreciated finding Costube for the support to try things in the time I have-I have learned a lot. Right now I am finishing a vest for my husband, and I hope to attempt a 1930s hat before the new year. Noelle, you have inspired me with your clearly trustworthy and generous friendship and the extension of that friendly spirit to your RUclips audience. I love it when I hear other Costubers mention you as someone they call for support-I can picture it! I’m happy for you that you are getting some energy back after a really challenging time.💜
To the end. Been watching your channel since summer ‘22. I don’t general comment on any social media content, but your advice on interacting to make friends in the community inspired me. I struggle in that area. As a gen X, I love the ability to have such great access to info but didn’t grow up socially interacting that way. But I’m working on it. Thanks for encouraging those of us who struggle with that.
Love your work!
I super appreciate your comment, knowing that it’s not your jam. As a fellow Gen X, I totally get it. 💖
I’ve been taking a sewing break I had a couple of things just not turn out the way I want. Just not as wearable as I expected. But I still love your content and talking about sewing even while my machine is kind of put in the corner.
This year has been weird for a lot of people I think so I’m glad you are taking some time away from the RUclips so you can enjoy your holidays and take care of yourself!
made it to the end! I love the Q&A‘s, and the 20 questions, they were my favorite! But most the time I just think you have a really calming demeanor and I enjoy having any of your videos on while I’m doing my own crafts. I’m sorry you’re going through a rough time ❤
Made it to the end. Really enjoy your videos. Looking forward to seeing your Williamsburg Jacket. I will be continuing knitting over the holidays. I don't have anything planned during this time of the year. Happy Holidays to you and your husband.
To the end. I didnt get notified about your upload last week. 😞 Watching now.
Hope you are having a great day, and enjoying all the different festivities! 😊
Happy holidays, welcome back, and this was a fun video!
I'm in between projects. I finished a cross stitch I've been working on for 4+ years, but am not ready to undertake learning to crochet.
Always to the end! It's wonderful to see you again. I hope you have a wonderful holiday and a fantastic 2023!
I'm not really new here but hi! Thanks for the chill, chatty video.
To the end! Almost three months out of the sewing room. A fabulous vacation - first since crazy hit. Then life stuff. Got back into the sewing space and rearranged it - again. I managed to do one totally unnecessary project start to FINISH! Total brain reset. Today I am watching all my favorite RUclipsrs. Since i wanted to plan my next project I am starting my binge with you! Thank you for all the YOU! My sewing friends!!!!
To the end! Loved the video as always 🥰 I love watching all that you create 🥰
To the end! I love watching your videos because it feels like hanging out with a friend, even though we don't know each other. I'm glad you're back and hope 2023 is better for you.
Got to the end! Thanks for keeping me company. I hope you have fun with woodworking and weaving! Your videos since this one have been wonderful.
I didn't know knits were their own special thing until someone said something about it. I like to use jersey needles and zigzag on the direction of greatest stretch.
I've been struggling with space lately and your comments on craft room changes and culling are definitely relevant right now.
Halloweeen all year!!!!!!!! Sooooo excited to see this. Spooky season is always year round for me!!!!!
Hooray for a year of autumn and spooky stuff! Really looking forward to this!
Aww, I love that your comments section is your favorite part! Your costuming has actually inspired me to sew my own work wardrobe (I'm not confident enough with knits to make a casual wardrobe yet).
I just love you and all your work. I am challenged to do some RUclips and instagram work as well. Thanks to you!! ❤happy holidays can’t wait for JanTober!!
So glad to see you back and also glad you took some time for yourself -- we all deserve to chill sometimes, and you've been through a lot in a short time. Happy Holidays!
To the end x. Happy holidays to you and all your followers 🎉
To the end! I love watching your videos while I sew. Its like someone is here with me and sometimes you just need someone around to chat with. Hope you have fun with your holiday plans with friends!
Love that!
To the end! It was nice catching up with you. I'm so sorry to hear about you losing your cats this fall. Currently recovering from a bout of depression and starting to sew again.
I got to the end, just a month late
Glad to hear you're starting to feel more positive and had a break just because.
Take care xx
To the end! Went to my parent's place in northern Germany for Christmas and my sister, her husband and my niece were also there and it was absolutely lovely :)
Excited to start 2023 with a new job and lots of motivation for crafting. Also excited to see your videos :)
To the end! Playing your channel is like having a friend here chatting in my work studio. Glad you're back!
To the end☺️ Happy hollidays🙋🏻♀️😘
To the end. I’m liked and subscribed. In fact I didn’t not subscribe to RUclipsrs till I found you, Morgan, Bernadette, etc.
I simply adore your Instagram stories. My husband just does not get what I like about Instagram and then I try to show him the reels and what not and he still doesn’t get it.
I’m spending Christmas with my mom and stepdad. And its a tough one for me this year. Christmas is my favorite holiday and this is the first Christmas since my dad passed in January 2022.
Thank you so much for being such a bright spot on the Internet and encouraging people to just do the thing. That’s the motivation and help me get my curtains done. And I’m sure it will also be the motivation for me to finally make a corset and a few other things I want to make.
And I’m looking forward to seeing you celebrate Jantober!
Thank you for this post. ❤️
To the end! Christmas at home with more present to sew right after Christmas 😂 The life of a Maker Yes? It’s glorious! ❤❤❤ Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your loved ones!
Made it to the end! I'm currently drowning in presents that I'm wrapping so thanks for keeping me company!
To the end!
Also i realized i never did the introduction thing... my name is Kathy and i like to sew, i like to learn new things, and i help run zombie camps on the weekends. I love that you keep sewing real and show all the frustrating parts along with the fun parts. Watching you problem solve teaches me so much and i appreciate all the work you do to make these videos!
Hello! Loving the vacation mode, and made it till the end. Love a year old fall spooky. Corset video please.
To the end. I started watching you to help my then 13 year old make con costumes. I never stopped. I just truly enjoy seeing what your up to and how you process what is going on. I am not overly fond of sewing; but can do some basic stuff. I jump around in the artsy stuff because I love learning new skills but constantly struggle because it is hard to get good at something when you don't spend enough time developing the muscle memory of it. I appreciate that even though you have many hobbies you apply yourself to increase your skills.
Glad you took some time for you. I have heard your passion for “just do the thing” a few times now - it applies to so much. Thanks for checking in. Enjoy your holidays!
I have been watching your videos for a few months when i followed off a link from Morgan. I love all you gals and it really inspires me to get back into sewing (which I ignored/lacked motivation) for many, many years. I have forgotten how much I do enjoy fashion and seeing how things are done. It is nice to know that I am not the only one who has the same failures but am too stubborn to quit. I started off with the SCA and am looking for more. Alas, so much I want to do but managing time and energy around a full-time job is tight. When I broke my arm 2 months ago, your videos, and the rest, helped stem some of my cabin fever. Even though I could barely hold a needle for a while. Though, hand sewing is good therapy for a healing arm! :D
TO THE END!!! wooo! great Q&A! i'm not *currently* working on any projects...kind of taking a break from projects, but today i decided on a project i want to make for the november/december time next year...a "viking" mrs claus costume! i'm super excited about it and have been looking at pinterest for all sorts of ideas all evening!
Greetings from the end of the video! Great to hear from you again, I've missed your voice. Let's all keep doing the things. I just bought the yarn for knitting my first sweater.
To the end! Thank you for the kind of anti pep talk! I have been watching costube for over a year and have even moved into other fiber art type content. And nearly every night as I watch I look at various supplies and never order because I get stuck. I'm ripping off the bandaid and ordering the damn fabric tonight!
To the end!! Happy holidays! Keeping it low key this holiday season. No travel no plans. Gonna catch up on some sewing.
To the end! Most of the little time I spend on Instagram is in your stories. Thanks for sharing interesting ideas. I've clicked through to watch longer videos, or to find more things in various accounts. I'm glad you're keeping up spooky/spoopy stuff, because there is honestly no good reason to keep that solely to October.
It's good to see you.
To the end! Loved this video, it felt like catching up with an old friend! Hope you have a wonderful holiday season and happy new year Noelle!
I hope 2023 is treating you so well! I’m loving watching your build on Instagram rn! That dress is so lovely!
OH! good day! A new Nichole video! (and all my kids are coming home for xmas!!) I'm glad you took a break. You have had a hard year. Thanks for sharing your travails with us. I am managing minor health issues for me and DH and welcoming my kids home. I don't have much time for quilting and I refuse to costume until my form reduces a bit... Sewing, whether it be quilting or costuming or making trinkets, calms me. I love the creative process...which is why I enjoy your channel, because you get creativity. Happy Holidays to you...Sewing knits, I always fail and I've been sewing since I was 7. Thanks for this video....i will get to the end...I am virtually a neighbor...someday we will cross paths and I will enjoy that.
I'm glad you took time to rest and recoup. And I hope all your holiday celebrations energize you and leave you ready for whatever new adventures come your way. Your videos always make me smile and leave me feeling as though I've spent time with someone dear. Which is appreciated.
💖💖
This was such a great video! I feel like I got to know you a little bit, in a real way. I love that you care enough about kindness, fairness, that you stand up to bigoted behavior makes me happy. I know there are good people out there, but hearing that you truly stand up for what's right makes my heart happy. This world needs love and kindness ❤ You are a great example of love and kindness. I am so sorry for your loss. It's been 3 years since I lost my Gigi( in picture with me) and I still go to talk to her, and then realize...
I wish you happiness and peace,
Audri
Totally understand the idea of going forward! Makes total sense to me too, one of the biggest things I do for anxiety and panic attack is being prepared or finding triggers and finding a plan.
To the end! Your chats always settle me down. ❤️ (I met you at the Persuasion Picnic. I had on the emerald green dress and I had a moment of spastic fangirling when I saw you.)
I'm glad to see you back, and I appreciate that you keep it real. Lots of love on the loss of your kitty.
-Alex from Threads of Thyme
Oh your dress was so lovely!!
Just wanted to say thank you so much for being your authentic self. The tail end of 2022 has been... rough, to say the least. And to add insult to injury I broke my left shoulder and right hand in rapid succession, limiting the things I can do that bring me joy. But one of those things is practicing my hand stitchery on a shift I started a year ago, while catching up on my favorite RUclips creators. Is it slow going? Yes. Have I thought of putting it down again? Also yes. Am I now motivated to finish it through to the end? HECK YES! Because this piece is the beginning of an adventure
I hope you heal up soon!!
48:05 Superior Threads sells both Tire #30 and Tire #50 on their website under the "Silk Threads" tab! They're my go-to supplier for whenever Burnley & Trowbridge doesn't carry the color I need.
I have been following for a bit. I have really enjoyed your content. I am also here in California. To the end.. :) I am excited to have some time off between christmas and new years. I hope you have a great time with all of your events here at the end of the year.
To the end!!!! I was so worried about you, but I knew that you needed a big break. I understand the stress that is RUclips. I only post once a month and even that is too much for me. I have to say, you look so much better in this video. I don't have many plans for the holidays. I've grown into a super major introvert, more than before like the Bruno of the Madrigals, so I've been content with just hanging out (hiding out) at my house. I have to work on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, but I plan to make it Christmassy... just bright and cheerful since that has been quite scarce this year. It has gotten so cold here all of a sudden, so I'm trying to catch up on my sewing that I've put off, but only because I had work. In a very secular way, Happy holidays to you and a wonderful new year. It will be year of the rabbit, so floofy, floppy eared bunnies are a-hopping in soon!
To the end! I've missed you here on RUclips, though I'm so glad that you were able to take some time out to rest and recharge. I've been working on American Girl doll-size quilts that I donate, with my latest one was a red, white, and black log-cabin block pattern that was done with 1 1/4" wide strips. I'm looking forward to the liminal space between Christmas and New Years when my daughter (she's 42) and I just hang out, watch movies, and enjoy snacks and refreshing adult beverages. Wishing you and yours a warm and lovely season!
Hi ya Noelle, have always enjoyed your RUclips and Insta. I’m not a costumer as such but I enjoy watching the process of people being creative. I’ve always liked watching the “making of” movies etc. I think of myself as a Jack of all trades. I have created so many different things. From last minute costumes for me or children, to painting by numbers, miniature, oh the list goes on. I work in a Secondary School Library, Perth Australia. I’m creating Library displays to encourage the students to pick up a book. It’s one of the many things I enjoy working in the library.
These holidays I’m working on a quilt cover for my 16yr son. I’ve saved his favorite t/shirts from over the years and sewing them together to make a the said quilt cover. Wishing you and yours a happy holiday and a New Year filled with love and laughter.
Keep Smiling
Alison
Your philosophy is so positive and grounded! I really hope no one is holding your break against you, you don't OWE us a regular video. You're tired, it is good and right for you to take a breather. You definitely chill me out, it's like having a best friend in absentia. To the end :)
P.S. Slightly disappointing that you didn't tell us Morgan's new cat's name, but it is her news to share I suppose. ♡
To the end - was so glad you could take the time away you needed and am so glad to see you back. I'm working on a set of creative kits for adults based on the history and heritage in my city and the design I'm playing with now is taking endless microscopic tweaks in Illustrator to stop what is supposed to be the carved head of a bishop ending up look suspiciously like a frog. So it's lovely to have a chatty, easy, nice and long video in the background!
This was lovely company during my Yule vigil. I hope your celebration was wonderful. I am currently fighting with myself to not try to finish projects before the new year. I could potentially finish one or two of my current projects but what my brain gremlins want me to attempt would leave me still unfinished but also stressed out of my mind and the added bonus of feeling bad for not finishing. So we're not doing that!
I look foreward to seeing your ball gown, through the whole process. This is going to be such fun!
To the end! So happy to see you back on the channel, though I just figured you're out doing fun things irl😂 Looking forward to my own annual deep clean of the house as well ugh so good
I have a very introverted daughter who says the best advice I gave her shy teenage self was, "To have friends you first have to be a friend. Pick one person who needs a friend and reach out to them. You'll both gain from the experience.
Made it to the end! Just wanted to pop in to tell you how much I appreciate your activism... it's what made me subscibe a couple of years ago, and as a latina, it means the world. The last few months of this year have been a beast for so many of us - you're not alone! Here's to a much better 2023! Salud!
💖💖
To the end! Love you, Noelle! You always inspire me and make me smile!
💖💖💖
To the end :) I celebrated winter solstice yesterday with family. Now the rest of the year is for relaxing with spinning, knitting and sewing!
Watched to the end! I’m semi new to your channel (found you through Morgan Donner and stayed for your 20 questions, q&a and creative costumes!), I don’t cosplay or sew, I do basic knitting but I really enjoy watching the process of you creating things!
Awesome! Thanks for coming on the ride!
Made it to the end! Hope you have a great holiday season and new year
I’m so glad your ok,Sis! You’ve been on my mind. Sorry about the cruise, again. We are all so proud of you for making all those fabulous clothes! I’m glad you’re doing ok and seem to be in high spirits! I am SO HERE for you in the Black and yellow Traveling look Glen wears in Dangerous Liaisons! Stunning! I must also admit that I have made over 20 medieval looks and haven’t gotten a chance to wear them again. I will wear them,I just haven’t had enough events to go to and they won’t get wasted…. I did wear one for Halloween so there’s that,at least. 🤷♂️ I am making a whole new wardrobe for this next Renaissance season, but I’m sure I’ll start attending more and rewearing the ones I’ve already worn. I just have a ton (literally a room full) of fabric to get through and that’s my goal. Stash busting and clearing space! Maybe we could do a stash busting challenge here soon if you’re up to it?! Wishing you a beautiful and bright holiday season! Hug the husband and kitties for me and always sending you all my love from West Virginia! 👑👑👑👑💅🏻💅🏻💅🏻💅🏻💅🏻💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
To the END!
Welcome back. For some reason, the fact that you took the time you needed to grieve and recover makes me very happy.
What I'm doing: I'm going to be a grandmother again, my daughter (who is about your age) is having her first baby in March. I'm in full sewing and knitting mode for her for the next month. At least she lives in this country so seeing her is much easier than flying to France to see my other granddaughters. No historical sewing, just small baby clothing in the foreseeable! Joy!
I look forward to your plans video, it will be inspiring.
Thank you for what you do.
To the end! I finally have no projects going for the first time since July! I'm enjoying having a little break and planning what I am going to tackle next! Thank you for all your videos and I hope your break was restful!
