Saw this on HBO--first movie they showed in NY around '78. Brand new cable system, friends were over...everyone was blown away when the huge ROCKY title appeared onscreen. That wasn't a movie--it was an experience.
U believe America land of opportunities gonna give u shot at the title cant pass it by
The finest segment of the entire movie. The character's very heart is revealed in this one scene.
Love that Rocco only has one business card and asks to take it back (do do du do)
This is such a great scene. Really powerful!
Rocky wanted to be a sparring partner to Apollo, not challenging him.
The slystalloneshop 1/6 Rocky figure minus hat is defo inspired by this scene
He got surprised when the promoter told him Apollo choose him.
'He likes you. He wants to fight you.'
Coupled with the actor's oddball, rubber-lipped features, and affably sincere tone, these may be some of the most bizarre lines in history.
Thayer David is indispensable to the film.
"Rocky." ❤🎉. That unknown is you, underdog.
This scene is so great - like so many others in this film. Rocky asking for the card back. To him being honored to be a sparring partner and then saying no because he had so much respect for boxing and Creed. The subtleties in this film live with me constantly and really keeps me motivated. I might not be the best but try your best and respect everyone…
In light of recent events, this clip really hits home.
Great scene
Sylvester was really young in this film.
Love you Stallone, my hero forever❤️❤️
