the saddest part of this matchup is that bloats are theoretically super good and ideal, but they are bugged and get blown instantly when summoned from reserve :(
Wait, what?

Yup, once tried to summon one three times until i saw that it exploded immediately
It’s trash. I would always bring two against vampires, and without them I feel slighted by CA haha.
i was wondering why that did not happen, it was like value city right there
1:10 Ah, I missed the good old days when Turin would mention how good and cheap Wight Kings with Skabscrath were every VC match
Well at least he still tells is the cool thing about shadow walkers
Something something Human Boy Yes Yes, no wait that is a lie
1:56 Luthor: “I’ll get you next time, Kemmler. Next time!”
Thanks as always for being a positive voice in gaming.
6:40 nice
man I love domination battles thank god they made this

You did right in your 'gaming it out' session by using Polearm Deckhands. The dual wielding basic variety just can't cut it, they aren't cost effective, can't kill, can't hold, etc. You keep relying on pistol mobs, but I don't get why. If you're going to bring guns, bring meaningful guns like Rifles. Deck Gunners are too vulnerable, but Handgun mobs are the proper compromise. Depth Guard Polearm units are good, but not needed if your front line chaff are all armor piercing anti-large like the Polearm Deckhands. Doubly not needed if you bring Rifles instead of pistols. That's when dual wielding Depth Guard come into play. They have FANTASTIC synergy with Polearm Deckhands. Even Grave Guard with Great Weapons buffered by zombies and backed by Crypt Horrors have a terrible time against Depth Guard buffered by Polearms and backed by Handgunner mobs.
Don't rely on Animated Hulks to do damage. They don't provide poison nor have regeneration like Crypt Horrors, and are best used stacked on Deckhands and as a blocking force. Promethean Gunnery mobs are fantastic units for blocking up and wearing down units attempting to get at your ranged. You didn't feel the RoR did well, but you also left them in a position to be utterly swarmed and focused down while your attention was elsewhere. He put a lot of effort into dragging them down.
You gotta go the way of Pike and Shot with Vampire Coast, Turin. (well, obviously you don't HAVE to, that's just my recommendation) Using your skill and micro abilities, you can absolutely mix in mobile and micro intensive elements to suit you, but the firepower of the Coast is the name of the game.
Onto the Wight Kings. Mourngul Haunters can deal with them, but your idea of using Luther(perhaps with a second Deathshriek) to snipe them is potentially better. Potentially. Don't know why I get so opinionated about Vampire Coast... You're 50x the player I am, but I still wanted to give you my feedback. Good luck! Have fun!
I honestly think hand cannons would make a huge difference here.
@@hplovecraft1445 Oh oops, yeah forgot to mention them. I always take one in my armies. They are fantastic at taking down close range large things. I realized their value once I tried charging Black Knights into a unit of them once. Took my BK down to 1/4 models and disintegrating on the charge. Consistent results can be difficult for me with them though.
@@Arkancide I had a similar experience myself while fighting the high elves and brettonians, deleting grail guardians and dragon princes at close range. Hand cannons are a must.
Coast vs. Vamps was the most 2018 matchup of all time
I LOVE when you do theorycrafting right after a game and incorporate what you learned from it.
I feel like having 1-2 cheap mortars could do some work on clearing skeletons
Was thinking the same. The VC monsters die a lot easier when they aren't buried in chaff and the mortar ammo pool probably adds more value over time than bombers.
yes, I wonder how fast 2 mortars clear thoses bloobs of zombies, than trap the crypt horrors with polearms, shoot them and the corpse carts... sounds pretty solid in my head
lurtor can 1x1 the characters
its also a much more land based for capture
@@timbeech2056 main strength of bombers is bombing graveguard.
Plus, the amount of leadership damage will pile up and probably swing a lot of fights in your favour.
Also, the range allows them to be relatively safe. If the opponent wish to remove them, they have to dedicate resources to move much closer to your reinforcements. That means crossfires from ranged units and interception by doggos.
Trying to "outgrind" Vampire Counts is never going to be easy, and Vampire Coast has effective Artillery to help with such situations.
Maybe a hand cannon front line supported by bomber mobs could work (who can throw their bombs from behind them), with animated hulks standing in the back ready to block the VCounts, and when the fel bats start harassing your guns, you summon scurvy dogs and use them defensively.
Hand cannons are relative expensive though(500) and worse in melee compared to regular gunnery mobs(300). Bombers are not worse in melee, but still much more expensive(450, and with such low range, their effectiveness is very limited if throwing from the second row). If you are going to make a frontline out of this, you wont have many units at your disposal.
Which means you will be outnumbered by a fairly large amount, if the VCount comes at you with zombies and skeletons(which they will, because it soaks up your ammo).
If the VCount time their engagement right, they will tie up your bombers for long enough to get their frontline on top of you(10 seconds is really all it takes).
Both Hand Cannons and Bombers can be effective, but not as the foundation of your frontline.
To use Scurvy Dogs defensively(reactive reinforcements), you need to be far enough back for them to reach in time. Which means more distance away from the capture points. That might be possible when defending your natural, but for contesting the neutral it is much more difficult.
Personally, I think that when dealing with VCount as VCoast, you need to use your artillery well and optimize your deployments/positioning. A single early Mortar will punch a lot of holes in enemy horde formations and lower leadership on a lot of units, which can give your own frontline(or concentrated firepower) an additional edge.
A "Fire base" with a Mortar and the Shadewraith Gunners can inflict massive leadership penalties(-24 to -26, before calculating penalties from damage). Add in a cheap Gunnery Wight, and it starts to get really dangerous.
Now your enemy has a target they need to neutralize, which means you can focus on counterplay to punish any such attempts. If they ignore your fire base, they take massive damage and will lose engagements that they would normally win. If they try to engage the fire base, they have to pull resources away from objectives and it opens them up to crossfires and interception by your reinforcements.
I also think that 1 Bloated Corpses can be a nice pick(but they are bugged, so...). Vampire Counts have no ranged units to deal with them. And all their interception units are equal to or more expensive than the big guy. Amidst the chaos, if a Bloated Corpse gets into the right position, it can completely swing the tide in an instant.
To me, VCoast is all about having multiple, overlapping threats that can not be shut down all at once.
I would recommend hand cannons dude. If you use them well in close quarters while screening them with fell bats, scurvy dogs, depth guard, hulks, and an overlapping field of fire with two rifles in the back they will delete anything, lords, heros, mortis, and cavalry.
yo this match up is too fun. Please run this one back with that build you suggested at the end
My bro, Turin, hear me out:
Deckhand Mob with Hand Cannons
Now, I haven't tried this, and I'm sure there are plenty of good reasons not to bring them. But if even one volley gets unloaded against a Mortis Engine, or against Crypt Horrors, *Chef's kiss*... Think of the DPS. Think of your enemy's nervous sweat, think of the lamentations of their children and their women. Glorious.
I was going to suggest Bloated Corpses as well, but other people have mentioned that they are bugged and die as soon as they are summoned. Sad news.
Little known interaction for Kemmler is that once he drops below 10% heath he pops his Benny Hill passive and runs like the dickens.
I used to mock those who upvote 30 seconds after video release but I get it now. Just KNOW Turin throwing down quality every time. Got my updoot and the battelines have not even met yet.
The brand speaks for itself, indeed!
I watched so many videos from this channel in the past 4 years that I automatically like when I open the video just to provide my support.
Hell yeah! Thank goodness we have my good pirate boys here!
those vampire blobs needed a hail the mighty :D
ur content is my go-to videos for when im eating
Probably dumb question, but why are lords in MP always lvl 6? (i only play singleplayer)
Its just how they are shown.
I think that's where CA thinks the average Lord statlines are good enough that they can handle enemy units effectively, but not too effectively. It also probably stops level 9-12 bugs from happening (the Lord specific tree).
@@R_J8 what? doesnt make any sense... you do not level up lords and spend skill points on skill in MP and lord traits and so on do not work there... you have multiple lords to take with some stats and abilities + some abilities and item abilities which can be bought for them, many times you have to pay even for traits which that lord starts with and can buy items which that lord doesnt get (meaning its not just legendary items), basically there is no lord or hero level in land battles and domination, it just shows level 6 for some reason, probably to differentiate lords and heroes more easily
Why'd you try to bump and grind vs Counts, who do that super well, instead of just having enough to hold them and then shooting them up?
I would have given anything to see a big, nasty Vanghiest's Revenge hailing the mighty around 4:30 on that blob
love a coast game. they're so underplayed according to the faction stats.
I've been out of WTW for a while. Are classic battles still a thing in WH3 or only this system with capture points ans reinforcements?
I post both, yes!
Thanks ❤
I remember pre-nerf Luthor used to be able to beat vlad of all people in a 1v1 duel, Crazy how strong he used to be (and technically still is). He's definitely one of the most versatile and effective lords in the game imo
No magic though, so you would need a hero for that.
Yeah, it's his only real downside. Thankfully though, bringing extra vampires (or wights) is a staple of vampire count/coast strategy.

Wait...H?
I'm a simple man. I see a Warhammer that involves Vampire Coast, I click it.
Would love games in real time with the sound from discord! :)
old schoolbattle
yes
Supprised you didn't bring a mortar.
Unlesh the Zombietide.
Dem bones.
Feasters of the dust
Hot vamp on vamp action
I have always been of the mind that Lore of Vampires is slightly overrated for VCoast (especially in matchups where they don't need to rely on stuffing the enemy with zombie summons). A lot of the key units come with their own healing built in already, whereas Death gives you really good sniping options and Deep can reliably delete units.
Find those bony trinkets!
army i want to see it in combat ^^
Can't blunderbusses basically 1 shot fell bats?
For the life of me I can't find a real multiplayer pure battle it's always these tactical points taking maps
Last time I was this early I was *not* the 69th like
I don't think two deck dropper bombers are going to be enough to clear the infantry of most Vampire Count armies in Domination. You might goon out some characters and SEMs with that army at the end of the vid but you'll end up getting swamped on the capture points by the 15+ zombies, skeletons, and GG that most players bring.
People still play warhammer 3? I thought that game died :p
...why?
Toxic?
Couldn't be farther from the truth
