The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is selling like crazy here in NYC. They're becoming as common as BMWs and Mercedes now, no joke. I had the chance to test drive the 2015 Hyundai Genesis V6 3.8L AWD and the driving experience was superior to my BMW 535d. The handling as very responsive (slightly on the heavy side which made me feel very confident) and the road feedback was very nice. The 3.8L V6 engine is more powerful than the BMW 535d and the AWD transmission is perfect.
The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is the best luxury car in this segment. Better than the BMW 5 series and Mercedes E class. And miles better than a Lexus GS350. Hyundai is one of the largest companies in the world, they even make jet engines for Lockheed Martin and Boeing. They are technologically far more advanced than Toyota/Lexus.
Gianluca Cannavo Yes the 2015 Hyundai Genesis is better than anything Lexus makes. But to say it's better than the Mercedes E class? Maybe on-par, but probably not better.
This car does not compete with the incoming A6 or E class nevermind the 5 series. When I think how much I pay per month to drive a car that has depreciated by 40% in the year I had it is a bit disconcerting. Hyundai service is absolutely horrid they couldn't fix a leaky sink let a long any quality of life issues. The car is a clunky, unrefined mess that creaks, rattles and just basically does not feel like a $50,000+ driving experience. I regret ever leasing this vehicle. Hyundai just sucks.
Guys, before you diss the Genesis, take it for a test drive and then make your own conclusions. I actually test drove this car twice with 2 different dealers and I keep saying to myself- this is a Hyundai?. Before, I used to look down at this Brand (late 80's and 90's) but not anymore after test driving this 2nd Gen Genesis. I'm actually getting the AWD version in a couple of months. We have owned Japanese and German Cars- Lexus and MB's. My dad was a MB fan and before he passed away there were 4 MB's on his driveway. My brother drives an ML550. I used to own a CLK500 with AMG pkg. The MB's are really nice, solidly built and fun to drive WHEN working right and no issues. We have owned MB's since 2001 till recently. With extended warranty, you are good but once the warranty expires, it's very expensive to maintain these cars compared to their Japanese counterparts. I do most of the maintenance myself but there are times you need to bring it to an MB dealer or indy mechanic who knows how to work on it. Used to think HYUNDAI is Crap but not anymore. They have made very good strides Quality and that is why I'm getting one in a couple of months. Just finishing the current lease I have right now. Test Drive the car and then you decide before the negative comments I have read here. Just saying...
seems like we have insensible, still-to-mature kids commenting here. of course a teenager who has a bedroom pin-up poster of a Lamborghini Murcielago is going to cheer at the greatest Euro-spec luxo barge and bash to the edge of reason any competitive offering from hyundai because they just aren't "cool" enough.. just like a man frozen in time with a wallpaper of Victoria's Secret Models will never consider mature, sensible women as their life long partner and chase after hooters waiters... one day we embrace reason over instinct.... and all of us will be rewarded richly. good job hyundai
I just got my Genesis a week ago. No buyers remorse here, it's a solid proposition from Hyundai. To get a German car with this level of equipment you need to fork at least $15-$20,000 more.
Even thought the 2017 genesis is basically a more luxurious sonata, I’m still in love with that car. For its price and it’s looks, this is a definite win for me
So i live in Dubai, and Hyundai in Dubai is obviously considered cheap, but I dont understand, compare to Benz, Audi , BMW etc are all pricey for nothing, and after 2 to 3 years you start experiencing problems with car and the spare parts are freaking expensive, so yesterday i went to the Hyundai show room and i went to check out the Genesis, omg its such a beautiful car, its super comfortable, safe and luxury, i was surprised the basic had everything in it, for a cheap price, hopefully Im getting this baby soon.
Yup, Hyundai is the upcoming company. It is up there with Toyota and Honda in quality and durability. Don't let the 90's Hyundai reputation get the best of you. It's a great car. I own one and by god is it reliable!
Carly Carter Hyundai is actually more technologically advanced than Nissan, Honda and Toyota. Hyundai manufactures high tech parts for advanced aircraft and fighter jets for Lockheed Martin and Boeing. And Hyundai is the world's 3rd largest tank manufacturer.
Carly Carter I'm German American and having lived in Germany for 15 years in my early teens to late 20s, I have to say that German cars are expensive for a reason. They are technologically advanced compared to Korean/Japanese cars and they have far more brand power than the Koreans/Japanese. I recently bought the 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8L V6 and it's seriously impressive. My previous car is the 2008 BMW 535d and the 2015 Genesis 3.8L V6 matches it in terms of steering responsiveness and outpaces it in terms of sheer power and driving satisfaction. Hyundai is now technologically more advanced than Toyota, Nissan and Subaru.
People commenting on Hyundai videos are an interesting bunch. most seem like little kids that don't actually know cars or the car industry, and are blinded by rap videos with fake jewelry and rented out exotics... (most of the time) Hyundai is one of the Largest car companies in the world, they have garnered Billions of $ in profit, millions of buyers and fans, respect and loyalty, trust... i highly doubt they care what people say on youtube..
Hyundai should make a separate brand under which they can sell their luxury cars just like how Toyota did with Lexus, Nissan with Infiniti and Honda with Acura. I think that would go well.

I've owned 3 rear wheel drive Genesis, a 2011 4.6, a 2012 3.8, and current is 2015 5.0. With every car i somehow lucked out and was on the road before the plows hit it the first time, so worst, slickest roads. No snow tires, some route planning ahead around hills, those could present a probem occasionally. It helps to have driven a lot of 60's and 70's cars, that's all you got back then, rear wheel drive! I may opt for the AWD 3.3T when i decide to downsize but the 5.0 is a way different ride than the 3.8, stiffer, sportier, and it's a V8 with 420HP and lots of torque. Not as smooth as either 3.8 though, it's trying to be more BMW like, it's not a BMW but for the money you get a lot of car. Longest owned was the 2012 which had 333HP and very close to the V8's in accelleration, even the 311HP has pleanty of power, best value for most people. I'm just enjoying the smooth always there power and the more sports like supension and better handling for now, i will go back to the V6 eventually for the smoother ride, fuel economy is better too but what i like about it is the fuel tank is the same size so with the V6 you can cruise 500 miles on a tank easily. V8 mileage, well you 'can' get over 26 on the highway doing 75-80 but it's just so darn fun to press that 'go faster fedal' your'e doing tripple digets faster than you can say 'licene suspension'. I Love this car! What gave it away, lol and for $29000 with 33k miles and CPO, I think most people would!
I couldn't believe it! Everything I read say they don't offer AWD in the 5.0 in the US, but what do you know? They offer it in Canada! That's awesome, I know where to get my 5.0 AWD!
I really wish Hyundai canada exec would trade places with hyundai usa execs. Hyundai canada execs seem to be stylish while hyundai usa execs wear tacky suits with a low bar in taste and style
The thing people fail to realise when they say Hyundai are shit, is that their warranty backs up their claims. 10 years and 100000miles. NOBODY else offers that. You don't have to worry about buying a new engine etc for an entire decade. And they're cheaper than all the other lux cars. That's a freaking win.
Hyundai is one of the most technologically advanced auto companies in the world. Trust me, I'm a mechanical engineer and Hyundai makes better tech than Toyota or Nissan.
Hyundai has been around for decades. Recently they've been supplying jet engine parts to Lockheed Martin. That's how technologically advanced Hyundai is.

After my test drive last night, I totally changed my mind from getting a loaded SUV for the future family to the Genesis sedan. Almost pulled the trigger but thought I want to wait a few more months if possible since I still have time. That Ibiza Blue color is to die for, OMG just so pretty in person! Great review, so calm and soothing:)
I see a lot of bias for the badge going on when reading these comments. One thing that was not covered because of the warranty is maintenance cost. Hyundai's power plant (designed by Audi) is as close to maintenance free as you will find. Switch to a good synthetic oil and you are all set. It's so much more than a timing chain compared to a timing belt, though that is a dealership selling point. I used to speak poorly of Hyundai until I rode in one, then drove one and now own two. I can work on my own car again. I can easily upgrade or modify if I choose to. Bolt on products are limitless because the engine can be tuned to however you prefer to drive. The suspension can be tweaked to who you are as a driver. I drive an R-Spec coupe as my daily driver because fun and power per dollar is nothing but value with that car. But the sedan 5.0 is ridiculously fun to drive when you have to bring other people along. I don't work for the company and am hated at my dealership because I expected their lowest price and to be treated like a king while not letting them perform basic maintenance or even wash it, that's how much I love them. Hand wash and polished by my hand. Everyone who rides with me asks the same question... This is a Hyundai? Times have changed. Try one if you don't believe me and decide how you should spend your dollars. This isn't entry level luxury, it's redefining it in an affordable way for people that want to enjoy the drive.
Funny how people constantly try to bash these cars because "the resale value won't be as good as the 'real' luxury brands." They fail to realize that those brands only have those kinds of resale values because of the value people place in the brands. That's it. Their logic just goes in circles. "This Hyundai won't be as valuable in 3 years as a BMW, because people won't think it's as valuable, therefore it won't be as valuable." People should get their heads out of their asses and stop pouring money to get a dumb logo (same thing with Apple, or any other overpriced brand name).
+AirLancer Couldn't. Agree. More. I picked up a 2015 Ultimate 3.8 last Monday and haven't looked back, my favorite things is hear, " What kind of car is that!??". Cheers🙏🏽
The Genesis 2015 is a huge step-up from the 2014. It looks like a BMW 5 series and the reason for that, is the guy that designed the 5 series is now with Hyundai. I traded my 5 series for the 2015 Genesis. I looked at the 2014 but decided to keep my 5 series, as I felt like I had the better car at that point. The 2015 Genesis was the game changer! That is, as long as you don't need to stroke your ego with a BMW badge! Make sure to get the real wood option, as it's just lights out. Like others have said, the Genesis have one of the higher residuals.
Why do ppl buy iPads when an android tablet that cost half but does the same thing? People follow other people, and people care about what other people think. It's the reality..
Apple is not known for features, it's known for quality, warranty and service. Android is a free os, distributed by many manufacturers without any warranty, update promises and no customer support. Hyundai has the best warranty in the business, the quality is great. So It's not the same comparison.
***** That's true but Hyundai also charges $50k for this car. In comparison, a $400 android tablet will have similar if not the same quality and warranty as iPad.
I live in Korea, and when I first saw this car on the roads here, I thought it was such a bland, uninspiring design, however the more I look at it the design really grows on me, and that's a difficult quality / aspect to be able to find in a Korean car. I think Hyundai is really showing it's evolution and technical prowess with this new generation Genesis.
world is changing it doesent stand on one place, maybe they started no so good but they are working, every car company started not so good but they improved
Most people see Hyundai as just car manufacturer, but the company is much more. They're huge in other areas such as heavy industry, finance and insurance, construction, engineering, retail, aerospace, defense, steel etc. Hyundai is the number 1 and biggest shipbuilder in the world. Also Hyundai made one of the best and most expensive battle tank XK2 which is in the Guinness book of world records. I'll admit their cars weren't all that in the past, but it came a long way, so give credit where it's due.
This is a "Great"! Only problem is the leather on the seats in the base model is very poor, our back seat tore, not cool, other then that, this car is a beast on the open road. One other thing, they need to put LED in the headbeams!
I test drove a Genesis today. Nice bells and whistles, nice design (except for the disjointed grill), nice fit and finish, confused ride quality. It wasn't posh and cushy like a Lexus ES, it wasn't taut and glued to the road like a 535, it was just, well, in there somewhere. If ride is more important to you than flash, forget the Gensis. If you don't care about the feel and want the really cool sunroof and well-thought-out infotainment system, then get the Gensis. The only good BMW is one that's still in warranty, so that's out for me. Cadillac? From GM? Puhleeze. think I'll spend a few grand more and get the Lexus. ES or GS? Decisions. decisions ...
I'd get a Genesis before a Lexus becuase I keep cars a long time. That means I'm not worried about resideual value and depreciation, becuase if I were, I certainly wouldn't buy a Korean car .
I'd get this car. I don't care if it's a Hyundai, it's a beautiful car with great value and a great warranty. I'm not so insecure that I need to get a base model Benz just so I can feel special.
Thinking About Getting One Soon, Good Review, Other Reviewers Talked About Brand Popularity Mostly. I Believe Genesis Will Be Like BMW Mercedes In The Future.
This is car is very nice and competitive I just wish people will give Hyundai they credit because they can go up against world class cars I believe it..
Recently bought a used clean 2012 genesis with the 4.6 v8 with only 9600 miles for $26k needless to say it really depreciates but getting a good used one you get a lot for your money I got extended warranty to 125k drives excelent had an audi before
This is the car Lincoln Town Car should of become. Even though these cars will sticker at $52K give it a bit and you'll be able to buy them around $44K
i`ll buy this car, really great car ,looks amazing and comfortable, high technology, all in this car and nice price..much better than BMW and other american cars
I really like this car ! I'm not a brand snob, but at 52K I might just get an A6 2,0T Quattro Premium Plus. I'd have to drive them back to back and really skimp on some options on the Audi though. So I get some of the comments about buying a 52K Genesis V6. On the other hand I'd get a base Genesis over a base 328i any day of the week ! I mean 38K for this much car and it being this good, it's a no brainer !
The back seat is indeed truly comfortable, more so than the front ones. That wood trim looks and feels like it was sourced from a dollar store. A fully equipped Sonata looks the same or better inside. Not sure where Hyundai is going with the Genesis, but perhaps it will evolve in the next years much like most Hyundai products.
Charlito Mani After researching more, these cars sound like they can have issues (trans, moonroof, electric, etc). Another used higher end car in the $20k neighborhood is the 2016+ Infiniti q50 3.0t. It's not as luxurious but it packs a twin turbo 3.0L V-6 (that can be boosted to 350hp easily). 0-60 in 5 seconds. I'm almost thinking of grabbing one and dumping it before the warranty is up in 2 years. I haven't had a fast car in ages.
Our company bought four Toyota Siena vans 2014 one had oil the mysteriously disappearing in a few days , our sales took it back it back and the engine needed to be replaced only 90 miles on it, took three weeks to get engine from factory and week to install great going Toyota , also our older Avalon vp cars one had transmission oil leaking like crazy had to replaced tranny this was around 2010 . Not like they used too..

Cheers🙏🏽
What Is the maintenance cost on one of these?
That is for sure one really nice looking car
Awesome review , I've noticed that the interior looks a lot like the BMW's interior
I got one a gray color and its powerful I love the keyfod

How’s it been reliability wise?
It's the reality..
true, many people dont hawe their own opinion, so they listen to others, try it by yourself, dont listen others, because today ppl are envy
*****
you have no idea what youre talking about. apple is about one thing and one thing only. profit margin
I have a 2016 Genesis and absolutely love it!!
Great review. You talked about important things that other reviewers haven't.
I live in Korea, and when I first saw this car on the roads here, I thought it was such a bland, uninspiring design, however the more I look at it the design really grows on me, and that's a difficult quality / aspect to be able to find in a Korean car. I think Hyundai is really showing it's evolution and technical prowess with this new generation Genesis.
great review
Keep this guy
Keep up the good work Chris. I wouldn't even think to own a Hyundai, but now I would at least give it a test drive.
world is changing it doesent stand on one place, maybe they started no so good but they are working, every car company started not so good but they improved
Lucky man 一
I'd buy this before any other luxury brands.
***** how do you determine luxury?

Shine factor.
Everyone is right, this dude is a legit car reviewer.
This guys good on camera . Good vid
It's not used by a korean executive..... They use Equis ....
Genesis is a luxury family car that can be seen common in Korea
Excellent review!
You are smoking PCP my friend if you call this a good review.
this car is definitely awesome. hyundai finally did it
Great review. Where was this guy before? Awesome! I think Hyundai should create a GENESIS luxury brand to compete with Lexus, Acura and Infiniti.
Good review and amazing car from hyundai.
very thorough and good review. subbed!
only thing I'd change Is the Hyundai badge in the back.. from there EVERYTHING is perfect xD
The 2015 I bought a couple of weeks ago has the Genesis wing badge on the trunk. They must have rethought their original Hyundai badging.
@@ericynot thats probably a custom badge
Very good review man.
This is a great review...so professional...what a concise car review should entail.
"...everything says Genesis."
*Next frame* *Hyundai badge*
My favorite car right now
Great review. Kinda wish it was a lil more of a sports car but nonetheless it's nice!
This Genesis or the Genesis G80 is my dream car 🇰🇷❤️
Thanks for reveiw Hyundai Genesis 3.8 it seems resonable to alternate traditional luxuries
Great review. I would agree that it is worth buying a fully loaded Genesis than spend twice for an E class or 5 series.
Very nice review
I have the chance to get one but are they reliable bc I want it as a daily driver
This is a "Great"! Only problem is the leather on the seats in the base model is very poor, our back seat tore, not cool, other then that, this car is a beast on the open road. One other thing, they need to put LED
in the headbeams!
idk who this guy is..but im black you did a great job im subscribing
How many did this dumb dumb included to this one car! I'm honestly appalled by it. You should be slapping your forehead few times!
Ahahahahahah, that was freakin hilariously funny!!!
you're an idiot
Great footage as usual
I'd get this car. I don't care if it's a Hyundai, it's a beautiful car with great value and a great warranty. I'm not so insecure that I need to get a base model Benz just so I can feel special.
Great overview of the 2015 3.8 liter Genesis!
Great review...
I am going to buy this car because of the review/ information.
Excellent review...Love the analysis. Great job.
Thinking About Getting One Soon, Good Review, Other Reviewers Talked About Brand Popularity Mostly. I Believe Genesis Will Be Like BMW Mercedes In The Future.
Are you really getting 29MPG on the highway. and 21 in the city.
Good review
really an great and in detail review enjoyed the video thanx
This is car is very nice and competitive I just wish people will give Hyundai they credit because they can go up against world class cars I believe it..
LoL what would Warren Buffet do? first time I hear this one! nice review Chris.
Recently bought a used clean 2012 genesis with the 4.6 v8 with only 9600 miles for $26k needless to say it really depreciates but getting a good used one you get a lot for your money I got extended warranty to 125k drives excelent had an audi before
Getting mine tomorrow!
My 2007 Hyundai Veracruz has this engine 3.8L in its and it’s very reliable.
I've always had a bitch about the Hyundai badge on the trunk lid. I've heard they've replaced it with the Genesis badge.
They did
Excellent car, very good value, Genesis is a smart buy.
I am happy I just got one G80 for my wife for her birthday. I thought Lexus was luxury but the Genesis G80 is great. The interior is big...
"No where else on this car is there a Hyundai badge but in the back" Camera cuts of, he opens the trunk and there it is, another Hyundai badge :)
I mean 38K for this much car and it being this good, it's a no brainer !
you cannot afford either. why dont you just go away
Do you know that Hyundai is South Korean company?
Very good car !
indeed its a nice looking car..i am def going to make top 3 of my car list :)..more like top 1
I love that car.
You can pick one of these bad boys up for $16k and up....I can't find a clean 2013 gs350 for less than $22k.
True. Saw a couple less than $22,000 with less than 25,000 miles. I'm a little torn between this and the 2017 honda accord touring.
Charlito Mani
After researching more, these cars sound like they can have issues (trans, moonroof, electric, etc).
@@Pube83
That's what I've been seeing as well. I've never had a fast car and I'm 42. I'm a stick with the Honda Touring. It packs enough punch for me.
Charlito Mani did you get it ? Right now is best time to get a car
great review....
i just got a 2016 and i find that the brakes are EXTREMELY touchy. was surprised to hear the opposite in this video.
Nice Sonata with Edsel grill !!
Great review, thanks!
