Exploring Multi-Level Artifact Filled Mine: Wood Dynamite Boxes, Rare Tobacco Tins, and Much More⛏️

- Опубликовано: 7 сен 2024
- For this abandoned mine explore, we visit a huge Nevada tungsten mine that has several levels. After exploring the main haulage level, we descend the man-way ladders of the main shaft. On each of the levels, we find cool artifacts and interesting mine workings.
On the upper main haulage level, we find a break room with several bottles, papers, and magazines. There are also numerous ore chutes on this level with many stopes above. There are also a couple of shorter shafts leading to sub levels and several branching drifts. On the lower levels we find a few wooden dynamite boxes, four different brands of tobacco tins, old boxes of batteries, a large water or coffee pitcher, shovels, wood barrel, old newspapers and much more. We would love to hear from you, so please leave a comment for us.
We hope you enjoy the video.
Note: This is a re-edit of a previously released two part video.
Thanks!
Thanks so much, Skeeter Bug! You're awesome. $$
Hello , Tom and Julie .I am Ready to explore 👍
Hello, Lloyd. Hope you enjoy the mine!👌
@@TomandJulieMineExploring I have watched every episode and you have not disappointed, keep up the great work.👍
Thank you Tom and Julie. That tungsten is valuable metal❤❤
Yes, it is. China produces most of the tungsten now. Thanks for watching, Mark!😊
@@TomandJulieMineExploring China is in a state of collapse so American and Canadian tungsten will be mined again.🇨🇦🇺🇸
@@markmunro8753 That would be good.
man that was a cool mine and the artifact`s great thank you tom and julie love yer both KEEP SAFE.until next time BYE.
Thanks for the comment, AL. Glad that you enjoyed the explore!😊
Small wooden barrels are called kegs, as in a keg of nails. Those chutes were huge. Another fine explore and I love the bats. Thank you, T&J!
Thanks for that, Ralph. That probably was a nail keg. We've only seen real barrels in mines a couple of times. They are quite rare to see. Glad that you enjoyed the explore and thanks for commenting!😊
the kegs were likely for track bolts or spikes
This mine was like a time capsule. So pristine you almost expect the miners to show up in the morning. Congratulations on finding yet another spectacular mine for us to tour with you. Julie's fierce determination for exploration defies logic. Seriously she is being dive bombed by a bevy of boisterous Bats but she will not be denied and with her steely resolve continues to explore the mine.
Tom as usual is in ladder heaven and adjusting one for Julie put a wonderful smile of satisfaction on his face. The layout of the mine was great with the timber work well above par and quite interesting especially where the shafts met the intersections of the drifts. Don't know where you find all these fantastic mines to explore but you guys are definitely on a roll. Thanks for the ride, Rik
Thanks for the comment and chuckle. Rik. You definitely have a way with words as the saying goes. It is a fun mine to explore with some cool artifacts. Glad that you enjoyed the video!😊
Danke für das Hochladen und eure Muhe
You're welcome and thanks for watching, Gunter!😊
Another great explore. Thank you for taking us along. Have a great week!
You're welcome, Chuck. Glad that you enjoyed it and hope you have a great weekend!😊
good morning Guys, loved this show! The cigarettes cannisters, especially the Lucky Strike, but the Walter Raleigh was the best i just love that there are still explorers out there that are respecting and not taking artifacts. and leaving them for the rest of the explorers to document those items. thank you :)
We try to leave things as we found them or better. Thanks for the comment, Felipe!😊
That lizard at the end of the video was cool, thanks Dynamic Duo
Glad that you liked seeing the lizard. Thanks for the comment, Paul!😊
Great artifacts, thanks Tom and Julie for taking us along :)
Yes, there are some nice artifacts here. Thanks for watching!😊
Thank you, those were some extensive digs!
You're welcome, James. This is a big mine. Thanks for the comment!😊
I think the boys of TVR Exploring have been there also. I remember the work bench with the bottle and can collection as well as the huge stope digs, coolest mine portal ever!
That could be. I don't watch a lot of mine videos since I get enough of mine stuff in real life. That is a cool portal. Thanks for the comment, Kathy!😊
lot's of cool stuff and some pretty good sized bats, thank you for sharing and stay safe.
I don't care how often that it happens you can't help but flinch when a mammal unexpectedly flies at your face. Thanks for the comment, Chuck!😊
Tom & Julie,
Looks like a fun explore of an extensive mine. Lots to see here. All the artifacts were interesting and the camera work and documentation is top notch.
Thanks for inviting us along.
Thanks for coming along, Rob. We appreciate the nice comment as always. 😊
great video, love the lizard at the end. you really get a workout with all the ladders. that's the first lucky strike tin I've seen, I remember back in the 60s my step dad smoked lucky strike non filter , he was in w.w.2 and probably got those in his rations . anyway thanks for sharing, see you next week.
Thanks, Tony! Good story of your step dad. I liked that lizard, too. 😊
Hello Tom Hello Julie
Thank you for the Video .
I like the Fotos for Details very much.
This mine has a lot of Artefaktes very good to see
Take care a happy weekend and a goid New week

Hello Frank. You're welcome, and thanks for watching the video. Yes, lots of good artifacts in this one. We appreciate the comment. Have. A good weekend!😊
Very cool mine loved can’t believe the levels👍🇺🇸
Glad that you enjoyed the mine, Tony. There are probably more levels below that we didn't get to see. Thanks for commenting!😊
You guys knocked it out of the park with this one! I’m gonna watch it again in a couple of days.
Thank you! Glad that you enjoyed it. Thanks for commenting!😊
That looks like a great area to just hike... Boy the fun I could have up top in that beautiful canyon while you two are probably walking and climbing more miles than me underground..
It is a beautiful part of Nevada. I'm sure you would enjoy hiking here, Max. Thanks for commenting!😊
There's something about a long vertical shaft that gives me the creeps. There's nothing in this world that could get me on one of those ladders. As said in the beginning, this is a big mine! Great Job Tom and Julie!
They can be a little overwhelming when you're not used to being in one. It seems like the moment to moment stuff keeps you from worrying about the big picture when mine exploring. Thanks for the comment, William.👍
I'm quite fond of a nice long shaft myself.
Thank you, Tom and Julie. What a great video. Awesome Timbers. artifact were great. can’t believe you found four different tobacco tins. That’s cool. What a difference I can finally watch on my big screen TV so much better. stay safe out there. 🍺🍺🍻🍻🥂👍⛏️⛏️🧨
You're welcome, David. Glad that you enjoyed seeing the timbers and tobacco tins. Thanks for watching on the big screen!🍺🍺🍻👍😁
As always you two, an awesome explore! Thank you both for taking me along ...............
You're welcome, and thanks for the nice comment! 😊
As someone who did a lot of manual labor including digging I can appreciate how much work this took. Only to be sold out to China.
The old miners worked as hard as anyone ever has. Thanks for the comment, Tom!👍😁
Awesome reprise of this mine exploration 👍🏻
Those tobacco tins were fun to look up. Early 1900s. I might have seen a partial dynamite stick when you first lifted the box they're in? All tan with dust, cylinder. Just worried a bit.
And that last look down too, what a chasm that was!
It's incredible how large the waste pile is. That last stope into massive depths unknown made it clear all those ore chutes served massive upper workings.
A very nice video, thank you Tom and Julie. I really appreciate it.
Thanks for the awesome comment, Rick. It is a big mine that I wish we would have been able to see more of. I must have missed the dynamite. Whoops. That waste pile is gigantic. I agree that looking down into those stopes really gets your attention and your heart going. 😊
Hey guys thats one mine I could spend serious time in no telling how far down or what's down there 😎 great video you guys be safe, your biggest fan
Thanks for the nice comment, Gunny! I wish we could have gone farther down. Maybe next time.😊
Wow, There's lots of artifacts in this mine and a lot of levels.👍
Yes, it's a really good mine to explore. Thanks for the thumbs up, Jeffrey!👌😁
I saw this mine on another fellow mine explorer's video, love seeing another perspective ,thanks guys and be safe out there
Glad that you enjoyed the explore, Mike. Thanks for commenting!😊
Delightful explore! Interesting artifacts, the old drill rods and tobacco tins and batteries, glad to see them left for other explorers. Some mines seem to be stripped clean of such history.
Most mines have been stripped of these types of artifacts. We leave things as we found them. Thanks for commenting, Kris!😊
Great Mine! Great video again. I always look forward to getting the notifications.
Oh, and just a word (because I love you guys), I personally would prefer to leave the artifacts where I was lucky enough to have found them.. as opposed to building a display so-to-speak. There's enough of those.
I hear what you're saying. I don't really like the staged artifacts either. This one was already somewhat staged, but I did add to it. It does take away somewhat the feel of being the first one to find a particular artifact. These days, we are lucky to find much of anything in the mines. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the staging, Ken!😊
Good to have another installment to watch. Impressive amount of memorablebelia and intact structures.
Yes, there are some nice artifacts here. The mine is in very good shape. Thanks for the comment!😊
Beautiful as always. Great video.
Thanks for the nice comment!😊
That was a fantastic video. Thank you for sharing and I hadn’t seen a couple of them cans but it’s kind of interesting. Where are you guys? Stay safe and have fun.
Hi Bob. Yes, very fun to see the different tobacco cans. We are in California, although this mine is in Nevada. We are hanging around the California/Nevada border. Thanks for the comment!😊
Always check out Tobacco Tins,
in gold mines, they were used to hide high grade. They would hide the high grade under the tobacco.
But be careful as they were also used to carry blasting caps
Thanks for your input. We appreciate the comment!😊
Another great mine adventure, that was a great mine. I liked the tobacco tins, especially the lucky strike one. I looked it up the green ones predate the 1920s. It seems like you and Julie get better every week. Y'all have a great week see you next time until then God bless.
That's a pretty old Lucky Strike tin, then. Glad that you enjoyed the explore. Thanks for the comment and blessing, Jimmy. We appreciate you!😊
This is a special one, we her Julie talking , sweet voice, she need to keep it up. stay dry if you can. Bill
She is kind of the quiet type but does have a pleasant voice. Not raining where we are in California. Thanks for commenting, Bill!😊
5:40 Tom that one cracked me up good one!
That was about the ladders. I should have kept track of how many mine ladders I've climbed. Lol Thanks for the comment!😊
Great explore and excellent video.
Thanks!
👍👍👍👊😎
Thank you, George!👍👍👊😁
Really good one. The mine was very sketchy in places, but also very interesting. I really thought Julie was going to bolt on you when the bats started flying around. Was very funny. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I remember she is scared of bats so is ok. Lots of goodies all over the place. Looks like the miners just up and left. I really enjoyed. Thanks a bunch.
Glad that you enjoyed the explore. It is a fun mine with lots of cool stuff still there. The bats always seem to surprise you when you least expect them. Thanks for watching and commenting!😊
Great mine thank you folks for all your work at putting these videos together
You are welcome, Tim. Thanks for acknowledging that fact. It's not as easy as it might look.😊
another fun explore you two .....really was curious what was down at the bottom ...... keep'em coming and be safe out there....and as always ..we smashed that like button .....smashed it real good like
I'm curious about the bottom, too. I would have had to dismantle some floor boards to get access to the ladders. Maybe next time. Thanks for the comment, brother Jeff!😊
Thank you love watching.
You're welcome, Nick. Thanks for the comment!👍
Hello Julie and Tom. Great video. I am glad you went down that ladder and found those items left over that people haven't taken, yet. Sorry I have been late commenting. I am basically working 2 jobs now. Been very busy but I also take the time to see your new videos. Take care always.
Hello, Stephen. Lots of nice artifacts here. No worries about watching our videos. They'll be here for you when you have time. Hope you don't overwork yourself. Thanks for the comment!😊
I used to see wooden kegs like that one filled with nails shipped to lumber yards. That was when I was a kid, and Moby Dick was a guppy !
Haha, that long ago? Yes, that was probably full of nails or track bolts. Thanks for the comment!😊
Nice mine guys. Always love your videos. Take care of each other and be safe.
Will do my friend. Thanks for watching!😊
Excellent job you guys are really doing a great job. Thanks.
Glad that you enjoyed it, Butch! Thanks for watching. 😊
Good morning big mine thanks for letting me watch
Good morning, Wendell. Thanks for watching!😊
As usual you guys did a great job of exploring. What a Cool mine to explore and you both did just that and you took us along to see what you saw. Some really cool artifacts down in this mine. Thanks for taking us along you two. Keep up the great work both of you. We enjoy watching you both but stay safe always. Until the next one...😊😊👍👍👀👀💕💕
Thanks for watching and for the nice comment, Duane. Glad that you enjoyed the explore!👍😊
The American Picker guys would have had a field day picking that mine. Lots of artifacts they could sell.
Good thing they aren't around. I'd have to rough them up if they looted the mine. Lol.
Hi Tom and Julie . How many mines to date have you both been though so far .To me they are the best out of all the others out there .Keep it up and thanks again.
Hi Tony. We have been in thousands of different mines, both large and small. We don't make a video of every one because some aren't that exciting. I would say that for every five mines that we visit, we make a video of one of them. Thanks for the nice comment!😊
Wow, again, what a mine, that place must be somewhat important, it certainly is holy ;)
🥁crash! You're on a roll, Mick.😂
@@TomandJulieMineExploring I like a roll, but I prefer a pastry!
Great video. Hope y'all are doing well. That walk y'all are always going on has me out of breath. I'm glad I get to watch yall explorer these mines. Wow this one has a lot of stuff in it. Interesting huh. I would be so lost because I don't remember if we turned right or left or if we saw this part of the mine. I do love the caves tho. I'd have to stay very close to the opening. Haha Stay safe always.
Glad that you enjoyed the video and seeing the artifacts, Dianna. I don't think you would get lost here. It probably looks more confusing in the video than it really is. Thanks for watching and commenting!😊
Great mine, thanks !
You're welcome, Robert. Thanks for watching!😊
The respect for these miners and incredible thinking on your feet hard work, is way up there, one thing is constant they needed their tobacco, Lol, crazy big mine, thanks guys
Yes, huge respect to the hard work on the part of the miners. They did like to smoke. You would think with your lungs full of dust, the last thing you'd want is a smoke. Oh well, I smoked for a long time myself. Thanks for the comment!😊
That waste rock pile just keeps going and that mine is deep. You guys could spend days in that one. Maybe bring some people with ya and rope up to those lower levels. Been binge watching your channel and have enjoyed it. Thanks for all the artifacts, that mine seems to loaded with them. Happy Trails y'all and see ya next week.
That's a huge waste pile, all right. There is a lot more to this one. Hopefully, we will get a chance to go back to this one. Thanks for watching our videos, Kimbra!😊
Seventeen thousand views and four days you guys are killing it. As usual thank you for taking us along with you that was one hell of a mind it's huge. Oh Julie taking a break sitting down on the job. Surprise surprise surprise!
Hey Eddie, the channel is doing pretty good lately and getting a lot of views.
This is a big mine with a lot of nice artifacts. I can't blame Julie for taking a break. Those ladders can wear you out. Thanks for watching and commenting!👍🎸😁
Cool explore. Indeed it was a big one.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Richard!😊
THANKS FOR ALL YOUR EFFORT TO MAKE THIS. JUST SEEING WHAT WAS DONE, WOW THAT WAS A LOT OF VERY HARD WORK. 😑
You're welcome, Gary. An amazing amount of work went into working these mines. Thanks for watching and commenting!👌😁
very nice big mine and like before you both get A+
Thank you, Jerry!😊
What I wouldn't give to be out that way again. I miss the days when I could go out exploring the surrounding foothills and valleys to see what was around the next corner. That was my weekends to get out and go camping and hiking.
Glas that you've had the chance to do some exploring out this way. Thanks for the comment, Jon!👍😊
Man that PA tin was awesome, just found your channel. Thanks for the video!
There were four different tobacco tins there. First time I've seen that. Glad that you liked it!👍😁
You were down a lot farther than I thought - when you showed us how far up you had to climb it really sunk in.
We don't generally show all the sets of ladders while we're climbing. It's kind of boring to watch and dangerous to be filming while climbing. It's generally at least 100 feet between levels in a mine. Thanks, Joe!😊
Good adventure.
Thank you, Brad. Glad that you liked it!😊
Impressive workings, wow! As always, the tenacity of you both is very much appreciated👍👍 Awesome to see the artifacts that are still there. The PM Photokinks cover had me do a double take and head scratch for a second.😂 It's interesting to see how they used to write and presumably, talk.
Yes, nice workings and artifacts here. One of the miners must have been a photography buff to have that magazine there. Glad that you enjoyed the explore and thanks for commenting, Mark!😊
Funny, wiggle wiggle, "don't want to use that one".
That was definitely a ladder that you don't want to use. The trouble is that it's hard to see the bottom of the ladder from the top of it in a dark shaft. Thanks for the comment!😊
Great mine. Lots of fun for y'all.
Yes, it's fun for us and you, too. Thanks for watching!😊
Awesome artifacts in that huge mine! What are the Tie-Dye things Julie is wearing on her boots?
Glad that you liked the explore, Roger! Those are lightweight gaiters that Julie is wearing. They keep dirt and rocks out of your shoes when wearing a low-cut style shoe. They can be found at dirtygirlgaiters.com

I was just down there in February it was still covered in snow. We check out a couple back down the canyon. One the entrance was caved and the other only went back 500ft. There are a couple more over the top of the hill i would like to check out when the snow melts. Thanks again for making these videos.
Glad that you're getting out exploring, Jim. We're waiting for some snow to melt, too. Thanks for the comment!👍😁

They never scare me, but they do startle you when they unexpectedly fly at your face.

I think that's the first one we've seen, too. Thanks, Ed!😊
Wow that was a good size mine. That box you found with the nails in it that came from Seattle Washington, that’s were I’m from 😁👍 but it wasn’t from me 😁well that was a great video. Oh just one more thing, be careful Tom, don’t fall into that shaft. Thanks again for sharing. 👌👍

Hello again from down under great find indeed
Hello, Sil. This really is a great place to see. Glad that you liked it, and thanks for commenting!👍😁
That was one heck of a mine! Great video work! Your lighting seems improved.
Lighting in a mine is always difficult. Each mine is different to light, too. This is a really fun mine. Thanks for the comment, Steven!👌😁
Enjoyed it immensely
Very happy that you enjoyed this one. It's a great mine. Thanks for the comment, Cullen!👍😁
Have you ever explored parts of eastern Oregon? One of the mining areas ive always wanted to see is the cornucopia district. That would be cool to see!
Love watching what you two are rediscovering before it's all gone..
Thank you!!!
We really haven't done much exploring in Oregon. The mines there are flooded much of the time. There is a guy from Baker City that does explore that area. His RUclips channel is 'Ham Homestead'. Thanks for commenting, Pete!😊
Great video…
Thank you, Robert!😊
A few seconds into video…man this is already looking like a cool site!
Oh yes, it's one of our favorites!👍👍
Hi, y’all. Tom & Julie your explores just keep getting better every time out; but this one is really going to be hard to top! The amount and variety of the artifacts you found is really outstanding! At 14:09, I believe it reads Buck 12/12/55. On the last bottom level, I wish there would have been a structure for you to go to the end! Curious what might have been there! Keep Safe & Healthy!!!
Glad that you liked this one, Cary. It will be hard to top with all the artifacts there are here. I wish I would've been able to get to the end, but it was too dangerous. Thanks for commenting!👍
Always brings back great memories seeing those basin and range mountains of eastern California and Nevada.
I've even had dreams of underground exploration - no doubt you guys do too!
So tungsten mining? UV lamp would be great there! Scheelite = blue and Powellite = yellow-green if I remember correctly....
Yes, the scenery in some of theses places is outstanding. I didn't have my UV light with me on this one. I should have because I know there is Scheelite here and that it fluoresces nicely. Thanks for the comment, Steven!
the ladders are well made.
Yes, they are. Except for the one broken landing at the base of a ladder, they are solid. Thanks for the comment, Rose!😊
Hi Tom and Julie, this was a great undisturbed mine with a lot of history left behind! From the beginning of this video, I had no clue what was in store to us viewers , that’s why I keep a close eye on what you find, very interesting work area and nice dated newspaper articles to place periods of miners working. Especially all the tins, this was a well worked mine. How deep was this mine to your knowledge? I could see why you Julie had to rest after all the climbing, and Tom you went that next level , nice finds! Yes , the tailings gave you a clue what was in store, very well preserved mine and contents, excellent job as always! Safe travels and will be thinking of you both in health and safety!
You said it all, Ron. Glad that you enjoyed this one and thanks for the nice comment!👌😊
Awesome video and it was funny when you finally got caught up with her and she was taking it easy sitting down taking it easy hahaha
Exactly. And here I thought she was out scouting for cool artifacts. Lol Thanks for the comment, John!😊
@@TomandJulieMineExploring well she kinda did find a artifact looked like a good seat hahaha and of course like I always say I like watching your videos
This mine looks interesting
It is a very interesting mine to explore. Thanks, Steven!😊
Hello Tom+Julie !
Another great explore, with all kinds of cool stuff.
With the hike in and all the ladders, you should call this video (Tom + Julie’s cardio workout)
I was happy to see Tom stop at that very dangerous lower level and turn around.
Stay safe, and thank you for another great video! 👍
Hello, Tom. Glad that you enjoyed the explore and the artifacts. Yes, it was a good workout as usual. I am pretty oodvat knowing when to stop when things get too dangerous. Thanks for the comment!😊
Always kind of cool looking up some of the names we see in these mines or even from newspaper clippings from long ago. For instance, the death notice for Emilia Solari Ghisletta leads to the news she was lighting a gas lamp on her ranch when it exploded, causing burns over her body that lead to her death. But you can find her husband and children and their children and it appears the family continues to live in the Reno/Sparks area of Nevada to this day.
Thanks for doing the legwork on that name in the paper, Ross. I was hoping someone would do that. Very interesting indeed.👍😊
Bats are so adorable. :).
There is only one bat species that drink blood so dont worry about them in the mines :)
Give them lots of kisses !
Hi Sean, we don't really worry much about bats, although you can't help being startled by them when you're not expecting a flying mammal near your head. They can carry some viruses that can be spread through their guano. Thanks for the comment!
Check out the bats in this mine aptly named the Dracula Mine.
ruclips.net/video/0rS0TuBx0S4/видео.html
thats a crazy mine, our coal mines are all slight slope multi tunnel. if we see explosives in a wood box ya gotta say away. we find caps everywhere. all dynamite here is from the atlas powder company made locally as i do not know how far ya would wanna ship it anyway. still, you two have the best adventures. kevin and viktoria, the coal mine explorers.
Thanks for commenting, Kevin and Viktoria! This is a fun one and a pretty common layout with the different working levels. Glad that you liked it!😊👌
excellent trip.
Glad that you liked it, Kevin. Thanks for watching!👍😊
Tim / Julie… love these shows! You both do an amazing job! I am addicted to your channel! So interesting and so relaxing to watch you both search through these caves!
Hi Steve. Thanks for the nice comment and for watching our videos. We appreciate it. By the way, my name is Tom. 😊👌
@@TomandJulieMineExploring yes of course Tom … 🥴 sorry
@Steve Cone No worries. I called a guy on RUclips Mike for a number of years before he finally corrected me and told me his name was Ben. 😂
GREETINGS !
Hi Dave!😊
Wow great mine. You could do another video. Good echo too
Yes, it's a great mine. Thanks for watching and commenting, David!😊
From the size of the waist rock pile they must have pretty much hollowed out that mountain!!!
Yes, it's a big mine, and we never got to the bottom of the shaft.👍
More chutes and ladders game, oh boy! ;*=[}
This one's pretty neat because it's isolated, not too much traffic.
I think the observation about tungsten mines usually being pretty solid might be right....just depends on the faulting....of course water is the worst - especially in sulfide ores, sulfuric acid generally isn't good for stuff...
Bats are cool.... imagine how they see that mine with their ultrasonic chirps...they must have a complete 3D map in their heads.
Didn't you guys hit one mine that had a lot of guano?
Man, I'd be all over that place with a short wave UV, but that's what rockhounds do....cheers!
Yes, more chutes and ladders. I didn't have my UV light with me on this one for some reason. We have been in a lot of mines with bats and guano. Here is a link to one appropriately named the Dracula Mine. Thanks for the comment, Steven!
