I look forward to the time that you’re able to give us a tutorial on your knitting bag. I also knit and crochet and I’m afraid to tell you what I use for knitting bags! Lol. Happy Stitchie!
I always enjoy watching your videos. It’s exciting that you are venturing into spinning. I learned to spin in 2010 while living in Michigan. I have 2 wheels, both I bought used and I love them. They are Schacht matchless and sidekick. The sidekick is folding and I like having 2 that use the same bobbins and flyer heads. I was lucky and a local guild in Michigan had several wheels that you could rent for a month at a time for $10. I think I rented every kind they had. I liked the ashford traveler but found it was a little short for me. I’m 5’6” and I just felt it was small, but it did fold up nicely. It’s an awesome feeling to take wool, spin it into yarn, then knit it into a garment. Be careful of new rabbit holes to fall into, but always enjoy the adventure!❤
Thanks for all the info!!! One of the pieces of advice I received was to make sure the height was right for me. The Schacht come as highly recommended as the Joy, but I am just under 5’ tall, so I think the Joy is going to fit better. Having said that, I’m still going to try out what I can! There is a place across the mountain that rents, but I’m not sure if I want to dive three hours both ways. ☺️
Yea, that’s a lot of stressful driving over a mountain and back. The good news is they don’t lose their value especially if you buy used. Then you could resale without much or any loss.
Lori, fantastic completion of Forever….& your WIP’S are gorgeous ❣️ You are such a wonderful Grandma (not sure what you are called) Granddaughter is so very fortunate, I would be adopted grandchild 🤣 Yet another handwork skill, spinning. So look forward to seeing your progress, I wish you the best in acquiring a spinning wheel. Beautiful videos…was wondering if your cactus bloomed for EASTER? Mine did…nice to have color again😁 yarn projects are the best..bags are so darn cute love the bunny one! Happy napping good for the soul…🤗♥️LaNelle
Yes, a about five of them bloomed for Easter even though they are actually Thanksgiving cactus. I’m sure it’s due to the odd weather year we are having. Thanks for the luck shared! I’m so excited to start spinning. I’ve wanted to do it for a long time!
Thank you for another lovely video! You are so easy to watch & listen to! Thanks too for the Rosewood Manor share. I have MANY of her patterns, but saw some in your share that I don't remember that I may have to look for. I have stitched Spring Quakers & love it! I try to find a place for it in my decor all year.
Beautiful project progress! I just love the fun granny square daisy cardigan. The colors just scream spring. And a huge thanks for sharing your Rosewood Manor charts. I gasped when I saw the Quakers and Quilt pattern and immediately added to my wishlist. I hadn't ever seen that pattern.
Hi Lori!! 🌷🌱🪻 I got behind on flosstube lately...I just watched your last 2 back to back. The green bunny plates on the hutch behind you are Adorable 😍. I'm a sucker for pretty dishes/plates. Of course, ALL of your craftiness is so fun to look at. Your stitching plans always grab my attention! Sooo many pretty patterns to choose from! Thank you for sharing and until next time, happy stitching 🪡❌🪡❌
Hi Lori! I made tons of Longaberger basket liners with that Waverly Country Rose fabric so it made me smile when you pulled it out. I’m happy that you are knitting now too. Still loving all your WIPS and feeling like we could be twinsies…..LOL.
Hi Lori! Such fun eye candy today! Thanks for showing your Rosewood Manor charts. I haven’t ever really seen a lot of her charts and the ones you showed are awesome! I may need to acquire a few of them. Happy stitching til next time!!! 🪡🧵🪡✂️✂️✂️💕💕💕
Beautiful photos at the beginning of your video. I am going to make that granny square blanket also…I’m just waiting for the yarn to get here. I love the Dreaming of Mums and Sunset patterns you showed by Rosewood Manor…even if I don’t stitch them, I might just frame the patterns. They are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing them and all your fun finds. Blessings. ❤
Thank you for your time again, Lori! 🪡❤️ And, of course, now I'm going to have to add the Bit of Spring in Oo La La to my WIPs. Oh it's lovely, as are all of your projects ❤️❤️❤️❣️
Always interesting and beautiful all things….do you think spring will it really come…lol our winters seem to be longer every year. Happy stitching and knitting. Can’t wait for bag tutorial. Love those.
Lori your bags turned beautiful! All your projects are beautiful! Thanks for sharing! Congratulations on your finish. Enjoy all your time with your friends.
Such a wonderful video! Thank you so much for sharing your talents and time. Knitting socks will make you feel like a magician! Turning sticks and string into a wearable item is so fun. I always reach for knitting when I’m watching TV or visiting or I’m tired, it’s much more mindless.
Love your projects! Those knitting bags are also great! Funny thing is that I have also made one of those recently but I do not knit! I just love the drawstring top, which allows me to shove more stuff in the bag if I want and like you showed, I can fold over the top and it helps hold it open! I would love to see your process! Thanks for sharing!! Hugs from NE Ohio.
Always so happy to see you!! Love the two pieces of furniture behind you!! Antiques? The knitting bags are beautiful!! The sweater and the blanket….oh my goodness!!! There’s so much to take in!! Your wips, finishes and now spinning!!!!You are so creative!!! Have a great couple of weeks!!!
Thank you Sara! The oak hut hutch belonged to my Grandmother and the pie safe is a piece of unfinished furniture I bought from Costco 30yrs ago! ☺️. I finished it and have carted it around through two moves. It’s such a versatile and timeless piece!
Love your video your craft projects are all lovely can’t wait for bag tutorial what pattern are you following is this yours and can I purchase it. Do you sell your beautiful bags I wonder. 🎉love your work 😊
Thanks for sharing the Rosewood charts, I have Tisket a Tasket and wanting to get the Vicki Clayton silks for it. Your bags are beautiful and love the finish of the Blackbird.
Forever is girgeous! I think I would do that version too. The Bunny bag is too cute. Your knitting is looking great. Spring is not here yet in WI. We have rain,v then cold temps. We also had 6" of snow on Tuesday. Marilyn
I “think” were done with snow … but I thought that two snows ago. I can really tell Spring is here because even if we get more snow, the ground is warmer … or in my case, the canyon rim rock is warmer.
My perennials are coming up in the back garden, but then it still gets down in the 20's at night. Hope they survive. Iris. Balloon flowers, Penny's, some others that were here when we moved here
Beautiful photos you shared! Love seeing all your stitching, your stitching is beautiful! Your granddaughter is going to love her crochet blanket, so colorful and pretty. And her sweater your making is going to be lovely. I really like your bags you made, they are so pretty and I cannot wait for your video on how to make them! I love a pretty bag. Sounds like you have some days full of fun planned, enjoy! 😊❤️
Another great video! I love them all! I have a long wishlist of patterns, but Inspiration by Rosewood Manor is one I definitely want to do. You showed several others I will have to add to my wishlist. The bags are so beautiful and your crochet projects are fantastic! I love the pink daisy cardigan. Thank you Lori for sharing so much inspiration! ❤🌸
Lori, I am excited that you are pursuing spinning with a wheel. I also, spin and love it. Next thing you know you will be acquiring fleeces, roving, etc. Then comes the interest in weaving. I can see it now. Just get ready for more fun. Haha. Good luck with your wheel hunting. I have an Ashford traditional, my first wheel when I was 18, and I have a Schacht double treadle. Both wonderful wheels.
Oh, weaving is already on the agenda!! Just stepping through the learning! I already have a fleece of Lincoln and will be heading to the local fiber market in a couple weeks! ☺️
@@texstylust You are well on your way through a fun journey. It is very hard not to do it all. Don’t you wish we didn’t have to sleep and do all of the chores? I look forward to seeing your videos about your fiber journey.
Loved seeing all of your makes - and all of the crochet & knitting. The crochet/knit bags are so nice - really looking forward to the crochet bag tutorial.
I have watched Christine’s Flosstube Mountain Crafts Studio. She has been spinning for years. You might reach out to her about what she uses. I know she has several. It looks so relaxing. I’m sure the kittens will be interested. 😂 Can’t wait to see your finished sampler framed.
The Karen Kouba charts are beautiful, I’m going to have to check her out. Your bags are beautiful, perfect for your knitting and crochet projects. Your finish and other projects are beautiful. Thanks for sharing! Happy Spring! 💐
Beautiful stitching...BB and BG...doesn't get much better. The sweater you started for your granddaughter is going to be a work of art. What a lucky girl. Love the fabric on the second bag with rabbits and birds. Is it a current line still available? How fun that you have so many fiber art related groups to get together with. You are blessed. And talented!
What a coincidence, I am currently working on my first Rosewood Manor project. I am taking 3 of her flower motif designs from the market cookbooks and stitching them together on the same piece of fabric. I have 2 of the designs done so far and they are so pretty. She really knows what she's doing when it comes to color. Also, I think it's nice how she submits a series of designs that go together in publications like this over the course of several years. It gives you something to look forward to. I have also started a Rosewood Manor Christmas ornament that was in one of the JCS Christmas issues.
I would like to see more quilt shares. Enjoy your site as i collect shaker boxes aand salt glazed pottery. Your color choices are compatible with mine. Am moving back to Seattle from Spain soon and look forward to visit a Cross stitch shop as they are almost non existent here
How exciting that you live in Spain! I have a cousin who has lived in Valencia the last few years and loves it. I would miss a good cross stitch and quilting shop though. When you get back to Seattle, there is a small lovely shop in Issaquah, WA and of course Acorns and Threads in Portland. Lots of great quilt shops as well!! Will do my best on the quilt shares!
@@texstylust I visited the one in Issaquah when I was back for a few months from Thanksgiving to Valentine's. It was very difficult to find. I live on the Costa del Sol in Puerto Banus. Gorgeous view of the Ocean. But I miss the trees, deer...just my quilt shops and everything that is familiar. Thank you for your responding. I look forward to seeing more in the future.
OMG the project bags!! Soooo cute! And you almost make me want to crochet again! The sweater and blanket are going to be awesome! A random question for you - for the Minki Kim Open Up Box pouches that you made in the past - did you find a simpler way to make them that doesn't require binding the inside seams?
I love your videos! I’m really taken with your Reflet de Soie red sampler. Could you please tell me the fabric color, the type and color floss you are using and now many skeins you bought? I doubt I’ll use 56 ct fabric but maybe I can find something that I’ll like. Brava ! It’s gorgeous!!
