To all my fellow norwegians complaining about kaviar and leverpostei isnt a snack. A snack does not mean candy, it means a small meal or portion (mellom måltid). We have just adopted the word "snack" into our vocabulary and use it purely for candy which is wrong. They are using the term snack correctly in this video for kaviar, leverpostei etc.

The cheese and the paté is very common, and very common with kids in school and will often have it in their lunch box. But the rest of the population (mostly) eats it. But the kaviar is less popular because of the acquired taste.
A more acquired taste that is very controversial in Norwegian lunchrooms is "makrell i tomat", literally makrell in tomato, and is served in a tin foil box (forgot the word for those containtainers). This is because it smells very much.
