I'm an ab wimp. If I go too hard with ab movements I get massive cramps. That said, there's something about the cable crunch that doesn't do anything for me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I can do that movement for many, many reps and I barely feel a thing. I'll try to concentrate on spine flexion.

Abs are made in the kitchen...feel free to swing and see what happens. You know the intent of the statement is you will never see them unless you are eating the right thing (like the round belly power lifters you refer to). People ask me about ab exercises and I tell them pull ups are the best for upper abs and squats and lunges for the lower. They always think I am joking them.

There is a reason why they say that abs are made in the kitchen. Try to follow my analogy: I am going to prepare you a lasagnia (and my lasagnias are loved by everyone who eats) with my recipe. It looks good and it is delicious. If i prepare it the same way but before i serve i will cut it into little pieces and turn it into smudge and serve you will not want to eat it, eventhough it has the same nutrition value and tastes just as good. Any lazy guy listening to you would start to work-out and loose his focus on the kitchen and have bloated abs at best. So what you say is 20% right, since the rest of the job will depend on what you eat. And if your focus is bulking up, forget about six packs. you have to do it BEFORE bulking up since one requires negative calory intake, while bulking is just the opposite. Ofc. you will eventually get the abs as long as you commit to your work out, but one strategy will take a few months depending on your fat% the other will take 2 3 times longer or forever. This doesnt need rocket science to realize

    1) abs aren't made in the kitchen... all of you need to see a nutrition. A proper diet (timing and ratio of c,p,f) will make a difference when developing a solid core
    2) People these days are forgetting cardio not just good for the abs but also for the mind and heart does not have to be running a power walk or playing some sort of sports is good enough
    3) ab workout should consist of:
    A) compound workout (ex squats)
    B) Weighted move of both up/down, side to side, and twist example Russ
    ian twist
    C) balanced core workout of both hanging and pushing of the ground example hanging leg raises and plank

  • @VEOdev

Great video but i must correct you in that one, kitchen is 50% of your abs, you can't compare your triceps to your abs and think building then bigger will show them, your body does not focus to store fat in your triceps thats why even if you eat anything your triceps will alwzys be visible, but for abs another story, eating fats will just hide your abs no matter how big they are.
