Hantengu is the real (definition of) Demon here. From his design up to his techniques, playing with human’s emotion to lure them.

The main body doesn't just stand there for people to kill. It has 3 layers of protection:
1) insane durability: needs the bright red sword to cut through. Gyutaro's neck only needed the normal standard sword to cut through.
2) insane stealth ability: needs superhuman sense and luck to figure out the general location where the real body is.
3) size alteration: randomly change size at will and can randomly teleports into the internal organs of his clones. Need the STW to find out the specific spot where the real bodbattlefield.
Even with all the 3 points mentioned above, it still doesn't just stand there for people to find out. Keep in mind the real/original body is always nowhere in sight on the battlefiled,
And people have to do all this work while being chased and attacked by his unkillable clones who can spawn non-stop long range aoe attack.
Even though he's an upper moon in the anime he seems extremely weak in comparison is it just the anime or does he get far worse
@@Jstaman I'm anime-only but from what I gathered so far (I haven't watched this video yet),is that the main body is generally weak but tanky. The divided emotions are the ones with actual power behind them (and when they fuse they to become the real UM4 in terms of power). Even if you cut off the head, it won't get rid of them, that's the main role of the main body, to serve as a reason for the actual powerhouse of UM4 to stay alive.

The Japanese voice actor really did an impressive job of making Hantengu look weak and pathetic. I definitely give him props for that. And he earned himself a free sushi plate! And it's because Hantengu appears to be cowardly and very pathetic looking, it leads to most people, including the Demon Slayers, not taking him seriously. But if you don't take your opponent seriously, you're already dead. On a side note, Gozen, you are awesome. Sorry if I got your name wrong
Hantengu by far has one of the highest potential in demons
A fun note: tanjiro in what is essentially a 4 min fight with gyutaro and daki gained 10 years of power through adapting mid battle. He fought hantengu for longer, so it’s worthwhile to remember that tanjiro was getting stronger constantly mid fight.

@@nsnwcole7840 yeah? They’re moving at hypersonic+ speeds (immense lowball) and tanjiro doesn’t actually do that much direct fighting for very long, the rest is him wrestling with nezuko for the lullaby part, or being knocked out.
Who was stronger? Tanjiro when fighting Hantengu’s emotions or tanjiro ONLY when against Daki? Cause against the clones tanjiro wasn’t really using sun breathing but against Daki he seemed to be using it the whole time.
@@alc4528 hantengu by FAR, by the end of the fight with gyutaro, he went from not even being able to see him, to reacting to, and combatting him.
Then he gets stronger by adapating to the zero puppet, who FODDERIZED him, then the weakest clone practically blitzed him, but he was able to adapt, and even combat one without the mark, but he was using sun breathing against them before and after fighting the eagle clone.

I have a good theory about the fusion of certain clones.
If Anger Clone absorbs the other clones = Hatred Clone
If Joy Clone absorbs the other clones = Excitement Clone
If Pleasure Clone absorbs the other clones = Satisfaction Clone
If Sorrow Clone absorbs the other clones = Despair Clone
If Resentment Clone absorbs the other clones = Wraith Clone
The problem is, we only know the power of Hatred Clone. The rest are unknown if my theory is correct.

Fun fact! It’s actually hinted that rengokus red blade (but not shining red) also affects a demons regen! Except rengokus burns a demons flesh and blood demon art, where as an shining red blade weakens a demons regen outright

I do love watching a video about Hantengu. He is by far the most interesting and probably my number one favorite upper moon. I just love his blood demon art and the psychology behind each emotional demon and their own set of unique powers. Plus their fusion counterpart,a s well as that last counterpart called Urami. Such a shame that we couldn't see anymore of Uramis skills , besides the sonic scream attack.If he wasnt so depleted, he would've used the same abilities as Zohakuten to an extent.

So technically.... that really wasnt the strongest version. The resentment clone could have also theoretically been absorbed, and the tiny main body, albiet that likely would have sacrificed his ability to regeneration from decapitation.

I’m not 100% sure Guytaro and Daki could beat Zohakuten in a blood battle but man I feel it’s possible. Kinda just comes down to that insane and weird explosion ability they got? It was that weird explosion Daki used and zenitsu pushed tanjiro out of the way, and then when guyrato used that blood sickle explosion at the end that nezuko blocked. Between those two explosions they should cut down or stun the dragons leaving a clear path for Guytaro to pin down Zohakuten. As week as Daki is I feel she can handle resentment and fear.
Yeah, right, keep telling yourself that 🤣 They'd get STOMPED by Sekido, Karaku, Urogi and Aizetsu already, so Zohakuten wouldn't even come out. They have zero ways of winning since Hantengu's real body is going to be safe somewhere else, while they take care of those fodder demons. Daki doesn't even count, she gets taken out immedietaly. Gyutaro? Sekido can paralyze him (his lightning DOES work against demons) and leave him for the sun to kill since emotions won't care about the sun themselves - they're not relevant when it comes to Hantengu's survival. And what does Gyutaro have in his arsenal? Poison. Which does nothing against demons.

Hatengu has a multiple personality disorder. His different personalities awaken in different moments of life: Hatengu, Anger, Pleasure, Sorrow, Joy, Hatred, and Resentment. Because of this, Hatengu's core personality has to deal with his other personalities' crimes. This is why he keeps saying his hands are to blame. Muzan exploited Hatengu's disorder and made him into his demonic servant and being a demon allowed his personalities to manifest into literal physical forms. The Demon Slayers call Hatengu a coward because they aren't aware of his multiple personality disorder and think his deformity is just a byproduct of him being a demon even though he actually had a head bump deformity as a human.

Ya, it's strange. The only thing it might be is because he had hashira help both times, they didn't recognize it. We saw with sanemi's backstory that he got promoted when he beat lower moon 1 with help, but neither of them were hashira at the time of the fight.
@@AnimeUproar I was under the expectation it required soloing a demon moon (or the 100+ kills option) but you do have a point with Sanemi, it's hard to explain that and justify not promoting Tanjiro if soloing isn't required

Ok I know Im Late but I Have a Great Theory. What if the Hatred Clone Isn’t his only final clone. Ok So we see that when Anger Absorbs 2 other clones (sorrow & pleasure) they Create hatred. So there one mini Theory, that if it absorbed his resentment clone it get its ability too which isnt great but if it allowed him to shrink the size of his dragons while keeping their strength it be hard to deflect or just making them huge. But sadly thats a mini theory.
The main one is the Depending on which clone absorbs other clones depends on the final clone.
What I mean is that since Anger absorbed the 2 clones he turned into the Hatred Clone. Soooo if Sorrow Absorbed the other two this theory states what would come out is something along the lines of a clone named “Depression” and for Pleasure it be “Lust” or something. The reason for this is because the Hatred clone Seemed to be an Amped up version of the Anger clone, still having his aggravation and agitation. Now of course it is “Hatred” so he would be brash and aggressive but to me he was just as bad as the hatred and felt like a younger version.
But still it would be cool to think of the possibilities if this was the case. I think each amped version of each clone would be able to use the powers of the clones they absorbed but each way they use it would be different. Hatred uses the dragons while maybe Depression uses weapons that shoots them out. Idk really but you can figure it out yourself

I’m so sorry, but why the hell is Hantengu not upper moon 3? He clearly seems stronger than Akaza. And has better abilities than him.
Akaza can fight alone with his style, meanwhile Hantengu needs the clones to fight and more they are divided more they're strength is lower, if is only Zohakuten maybe he can fight Akaza at the same level.
No he doesn't, Akaza has more techniques and has his compass to counterattack any offense he could muster. Also, Akaza would probably crush Hantengu for his position for being cowardly and snivelling, something Akaza absolute despises. It makes perfect sense why Akaza is UM3.
BDA type wise, Hantengu's is more powerful and tricky.
But Akaza is able to utilize his abilities at a much higher magnitude and efficiency.
Kinda like how Giyomei is the strongest current gen hashira but earth breathing isnt necessarily stronger than other breathing(save for sun breathing). He just use it better than the other hashiras use theirs.

@@kingswift782 "he defeated uppermoon 6" can be misleading. He helped a hashira to barely pull off a draw against gyutaro, but luckily nezuko was around to remove the poison, turning the what would be draw into a win. He isnt up to par with the current gen hashira yet.

No Hashira could hangle Hantengu alone, it's just impossible, on top of trying to find the actual body, you have emotion clones to chip away at you and exhaust you, even if you manage to find the true body, it easily snapped Genya's blade and needed Tanjiro's red blade to even cut through it.
It's just a hideous game of where's the real one.

Base Muichiro lost horribly to base Gyokko no-low diff.
Marked muichiro no diffed true form gyokko.
Kokushibo no diffed marked muichiro, and low diffed base Sanemi(he could no longer fight without stitching his gut wound)
Base gyomei stood his ground against Kokushibo 1v1 while sanemi stitches his gut wound.
If thats not enough, Kokushibo states gyomei is the strongest swordsman he had ever fought in the last 300 years, and he says this BASE gyomei.
Base Gyomei > Marked Muichiro > true form gyokko > base gyokko > muichiro. The differences isnt even mid diff, we are looking at no diffs and low diffs!
Base Gyomei is already leagues ahead of Marked muichiro who is leages ahead of Gyokko.
Now imagine if Gyomei got his mark like mitsuri did against hantengu.
Marked Mitsuri is able to hold her ground against Zohakuten.
Furthermore, Gyomei is able to completely obliterate chunks off of kokushibo's and Muzan's body, in fact base gyomei was able the first able to do so against an unpoisoned muzan, so he wouldnt have a problem crushing hantengu's main body.
Id say at most extreme diff with gyomei winning, could be lower than extreme, but hantengu is not winning this.
