We have this problem. We have the tcl Roku tv. Turned the tv on this morning for it to turn on and off. So we were like great let go get a new tv. Got a new tv but after seeing this I want to try and take mine apart and see if I can fix it. If so we have a shed tv great for sports season!! Thank you for making this video was so helpful can’t wait to see if it work on ours.
Hey there! So I’m tech and good with my hands but I don’t have those tools or that part or even know how to do that to a circuit board. How am I myself supposed to fix it if I can’t do what you did in the video?
this button sometimes has a problem, it shorts with it's ground intermittently...which gives you that weird on and off and sometimes either takes a million years to turn on, or just act as if the remote hasn't been pressed...on mine it took i off and didn't even replace it...my tv has been working perfect ever since, not a single problem anymore. (that button is basically a "backup" control if you lose your remote)
the delayed start problem with these tvs is normal, but if it turns off and on randomly while watching stuff, then this video applies to you...but the delay on start is a thing with these onn rokus.
The tv is just a piece of shyt! Just throw it away! I’m on my way to get a Sony! That’s what I get for being cheap should have brought a Sony from the start! I’m not taking a tv apart and rebuilding it. I’m really 😡 tf off this company should be taken out of business Onn who the hell are they anyway!
I did this earlier, just clipped the chip right off the circuit, and it's working great! Thanks for the help!
happy to hear that
What is the name of that part?

@@OMNITEK thank you 🙏
Did it work?
@@sirsyncalot9147 not for me but after a few days it started to work proper again. So we went and got a tv for nothing
How do you control the TV if you take out the chip with the sensor also I did this and the TV is still turning off by itself
It's probably a bad capacitor, look for one of em swelled or kinda bulging out on the end, it's common with a hi sense TV
What is that part called?

What does the button do because mine has been turning off and back on over and over for 15 minutes

Do you have to put the circuit back into the tv or will it work fine without it?
It can work without it but you need it for the remote...the IR reader...so I would suggest to put it back on the TV.
My tv is turning on and off but I’m just getting on Roku tv the it turns off again
Mine does it repeatedly while its plugged up, i came home from work to my tv turnin on and off every 5 seconds
I found out last night I have a bad capacitor just need to solder another one on there and it's less than a 20 dollar fix
My exact problem, howd you find that out?
@@oiman2070just take the plastic cover off the back and see if you're capacitors are swelled up or even slightly bulged
What if you dk how to "solder"? What to do?

Ok what about tcl roku
Might be the same cause my tv has the same problem
Mine still does it
It takes anywhere from 1-20 seconds before it turns back on after it powers off
