Your user name relates to Louis hahah Either way, Why is no one talking about this film?? This was spectacular and your review of it was perfectly precise!
I watched it last night and found it, though long, quite affecting in an understated way. I am a fan of the short story which seems to have been the inspiration for the film.
Lea was luminous, I loved her because the camera loved her and yes The beast is a MASTERPIECE. Looking forward to Texas chainsaw Massacre 4K rerelease tomorrow. Have a good weekend.
The Trashbumpers scenes in her laptop means that she acted in the film? Because she is googling herself and the website seems like her actress porfolio with reel videos
@@heronofheaven What was great is that this actor showed how incels create their own misery. The guy in the same body can be suave, handsome, and sensitive if they have the right mentality and sense of self, as 1910 Louis does. But get some horrible haircut, awful clothes, and confine yourself to incel propaganda instead of finding joy in the world and yes you will be lacking dates.
@@victoire614 That real guy in the news had already taking medication and seeing therapists but also pretty rich and decent looking. More like a mental illness than anything.
It could have been better i could have directed a way better movie where they live in a fantasy world onlt to find out they all received the mark of the beast willingly because they were numb to loving each other so instead they choose Ai world because they despised reality and there fate was sealed for eternal punishment in hell, i would have made the movie where you invest in there character and altimately feel horrible for there choices they made only to be a horrible horror if you like my version better if you like it i will know.
That´s exactly the US-Hollywoodian approach. Why, for instance, do you think, Paul Verhoeven (glory to his work) in "Total Recall" could only make it to the two of the three layers in Philip Dick´s original?
The ending in the red curtained night club was so Lynchian
Yes, a masterpiece. I saw it three days ago and it's been haunting me ever since. Seydoux and MacKay are incredible.
I will never see a pigeon the same way after this film. So creepy.
I live in NYC and I see Pigeons everyday here and I am reminded of this film. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Wow just discovered this channel! Brilliant insightful stuff, definitely one to watch
Thank you so much!
I saw some Antonioni too in the L.A. segment. Bonello´s magnum opus, yes, and you´re right too about Seydoux absolutely outshining accomplishment.
While watching this movie, I was taken aback and thought to myself "This movie is what Cloud Atlas wish it was".

Where can I see this movie?
@@devvv7 Probably in a local independent cinema. It seems to be making the rounds.
Jan 2, 2025. Just finished this film, didn’t quite understand what it is really about but loved it so much. A pure art.
Saw it last night. Loved it.
who did?

One of those movies that wont leave your mind. Cant wait for my lokal BD release to rewatch.

Do you have a Letterboxd account?
Will give it a whirl, great channel. Have you seen Burning yet? Worth a watch and an essay.
Love Burning! Been impatiently awaiting the next Lee Chang-dong film for far too long. Thanks for watching.
@@thefilmloner Do a video essay on poetry please. That film was incredibly moving and there was an equally moving video essay on it
Wait was the incel bit from an actual true story at 4:58???
The was an incel guy in Santa Barbara who when on a shooting spree and killed 6 in Isla Vista in 2014.
Yes. There are loads of incels :( most high school shooters turn out to be incels.
It was almost direct copies of his speeches and diary in the film, if he was still alive he could demand copyright claim😅 @julietwochholz9755

Thanks for watching!

Everyone here should see "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote."
No worldbuilding, plotholes and pretentious dialogue

‘I could have done it better’ is always said by the people who never do anything
Definitely the worst movie I’ve ever seen

OR, its banal, self involved tripe. Your call.
Terrible movie
