Would we rather them be knobs or touch? Come on now. Also, criticizing a shifter is silly. It works and you’ll be using the paddles anyways.
This would be an interesting car at $40,000. For $67,000 it is just too expensive. The new Tesla Model 3 Performance is less than $55K and has 615 HP and does 0-60 mph in 2.7 seconds. The Tesla has the same range(313 miles) as this car. With the tax credits some people are getting the Model 3 Performance for less than $47,000. I Love the car, no complaints whatsoever. Going up to $65K was just not worth it to me. I'll try to trade mine in a few years from now to try to get a 2024 nismo. I wish they would have used the fender flares from the orange Design Proto Z study model they showed last year. The tacked on "flares" it comes with look like they came from autozone.
Overpriced is the key . The Z and Nismo is very expensive for what you get and the good looking one . If you just want a good looking one your screwed buying the base model with the ugly front end . Having to overpay for a car that doesnt compete well in segment for $ is a drag . Sticking regular buyers with the bad front end is a drag . The base Z should have the non ugly front end even it it doesnt have the better wheels , components and BADGING . If you are gonna re use an old platform and upgrade it to save money you should give the buyer the best styling which is where the car CAN shine as the designers did a good job capturing the shape of the origanal 240 as a modern car but dropped the ball on the base car with the weird front clip . They obviously did this knowingly as they fix it on the way overpriced version . The Nismo can have all the badging , stickers , plaques , body trim and spoliers or whatever but having to spend to get the correct nose on car is a shitty choice . At lesst make the base car look cool and give it the right look .
I want to love the Nismo, but the meager 20 hp gain which is negated by the added weight is a bummer. Wish it would’ve been 500 hp…otherwise the enhanced brakes, suspension, and wheels is a welcomed upgrade.
An SS 1LE sounds better, handles better, is faster in a straightline, has more space, better manual transmission, costs tens of thousands less, based on a platform that is a decade newer, EPA rated for better mpg, way better suspension setup for daily driving and track use because it uses magnetic ride control, and even visbikty is better (shocker ik). Looks wise both are tied for me. I love the pre facelift front end and facelift rear end of the Camaro 6th gen whereas the new Z is great from the side and rear but it's front is just okay
Nissan should learn from Dodge. Drop the most powerful GTR engine in this Z..and watch people drool all over. One Hope Nissan keeps tuning the Z to get it faster….that's how German car manufacturers lure customers to buy.
I love that fact its all Japan ( not Nissan as Nissan quality has gone bonk over the years), and its simple - ish , very sad it not manual or a simple version of the GTR Trans, a poor humans GTR, a Honda Civic Type R is around $45K, ..$70K for this is kinda $$$$ .... wait for a used one or the market to crash
my neighbor just bought one of these. and my god for the price, what a horrible decision. the performance you get with for the price you pay is mind blowing. you can buy a lot of new v8s for much less and have so much money to modify them which would blow this thing out of the water. and still have money left over
Beautiful car but why would I spend $ 80,000 dollars and track it? I own a 2010 Nissan 370z all stock and I don't track it nor beat on it. Its a car that I enjoy and love driving. I see a lot of Z’s on the road that are beat up.
As we existing Z owner, no way I'm interested in this. Too many interior parts carry over from my 370, dealer makeup even though they aren't moving any units, better cars for the money. I do appreciate they fix the horrendous front bumper though I live in Austin and see every new car almost immediately, cyber trucks, Escalade Vs on a daily basis. Still haven't seen a single new Z yet
Its crazy that a 2020 Z Nizmo was $46k brand new. That was just 4 years ago and this thing starts for $20k more??? Parts sharing with the old car, same engine as the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport and only some newer body panels and a new dash!! Ridiculous!!!!
Its a real shame that this car became so mind fuckingly expensive despite STILL largely failing to be an "all-new" model. This is a BEAUTIFUL car is Nismo form. But is it a $60K car? I think that should've remained Q60 level and even that car was overpriced for what it was/is (is it still in production?) at this age.

UNDERPOWER
Stellar review.
Nissan should learn from Dodge. Drop the most powerful GTR engine in this Z..and watch people drool all over. One Hope Nissan keeps tuning the Z to get it faster….that's how German car manufacturers lure customers to buy.
I love that fact its all Japan ( not Nissan as Nissan quality has gone bonk over the years), and its simple - ish , very sad it not manual or a simple version of the GTR Trans, a poor humans GTR, a Honda Civic Type R is around $45K, ..$70K for this is kinda $$$$ .... wait for a used one or the market to crash
my neighbor just bought one of these. and my god for the price, what a horrible decision. the performance you get with for the price you pay is mind blowing. you can buy a lot of new v8s for much less and have so much money to modify them which would blow this thing out of the water. and still have money left over
It a sweet ride but it kinda over my budget so I’m just gonna have to stick with my 2014 370 touring model beside it been payoff 4 years ago ✌🏽
Beautiful car but why would I spend $ 80,000 dollars and track it? I own a 2010 Nissan 370z all stock and I don't track it nor beat on it. Its a car that I enjoy and love driving. I see a lot of Z’s on the road that are beat up.
I wish my back could handle a sports coupe... lol. I would definitely consider a Z. I do love my fx35.
Car looks really good
Naveen, this is the only Nissan product I'd consider. Toyota forever!
He is only hot for Hyundai and Kia cars.. Maybe is a ceo of the company.
@@ju4121hahahaha he wishes😂😂
I’d consider this too. But I personally have a soft spot for the 370Z Nismo. I find the v6 to be a bit better sounding and more free reviving too
What is naveen
@@Unicornpirate He's our Toyota/Lexus expert, but he understands Zs.
Hopefully Nissan will offer a manual with the NISMO.
Leave it to Mines or Top Secret to tune it out to craziness 😂
I’d buy this over a mustang GT every day of the week. This thing looks amazing!
As we existing Z owner, no way I'm interested in this. Too many interior parts carry over from my 370, dealer makeup even though they aren't moving any units, better cars for the money. I do appreciate they fix the horrendous front bumper though
I live in Austin and see every new car almost immediately, cyber trucks, Escalade Vs on a daily basis.
Still haven't seen a single new Z yet
I don’t get how this car can outperform other somewhat recent sports cars but is somehow held to a higher standard to be considered a sports car
Bad ass shirt bro!
The problem is I can get a M2 that will spank the Nismo Z. Also the S58 engine has been solid so far.
I live in Florida, last thing i want are heated seats
$67k for this? FOH
Yeah at that point im buying a ZL1
I never see these
Its crazy that a 2020 Z Nizmo was $46k brand new.
These cars don't exist I still haven't seen one in the Atlanta area
Why would they not offer this in a manual?
Great job & I will buy this 1 day if I had lottery.
for $70k?! damn, and that's BEFORE dealer markups...fk that
I agree. If it was high 50's tops it might be worth a look.
What not even heated and ventilated seats or remote start?
