I can't imagine how they would dominating kpop wise if their contract was extended for a few more years, they have only 7 month and all achievement they get is unbelievable. btw Downpour is my favorite song and also the one that makes me cry every time I watch it😢.

So the reason there's only 7 members in Whatta Man is because I.O.I were the first ever Produce 101 group and they hadn't worked out the kinks contract wise. Current Produce/Girl's/Boy's Planet groups (Kep1er, Wanna One, Zerobaseone, etc.) only work on that group's related promotions, but I.O.I. members still had to carry out prior commitments at their original companies. So whilst being in I.O.I. the original companies debuted new groups and had I.O.I. members in them (WJSN, Gugudan, DIA) and those groups' comebacks/debuts kept overlapping with I.O.I.'s comebacks. Obviously they can't be in 2 places at once and I.O.I. only had a short contract meaning they couldn't delay comebacks so they just promoted with whichever members were able to. So pretty much all of the members in Whatta Man are members who didn't debut in another group until after I.O.I. disbanded. This whole situation is why Produce groups after this got longer contracts and weren't allowed to promote with their original groups or debut at their companies until after their disbandment.
Sorry for the long comment I just wanted to give an explanation and I'm an old fossil who's been around for all the Produce series' so I know too much haha.
