    Congratulations! Your first dream/high-end guitar is a special moment. My first dream guitar was a 1996 PRS Custom 22 with a 10 top and bird inlays in (for then) a unique Tobacco Burst. I still have it and play it all the time. It's a truly amazing guitar. As someone below mentioned, I too have G.A.S. and am fortunate to many wonderful guitars, but that PRS is my go to and is my crown jewel. If I ever had to get rid of all of my guitars except one that one is the one I'd keep.
    Again, congrats!

      "Studio" never heard of them. Are they cheaper than a Custom 24...?? Kinda like a Gibson Studio is to a Standard...?
      And if so...at what concessions..?
      I know about S2...
      where the price is sawn IN HALF..
      but at the cost of the sublime, signature top carve.
      Soo tough, because...as I own an SE...the top carve usy the aspect I desire MOST from an American PRS..
      I may have to leap frog up from my SE..to an S2... to a CE.... to a Custom 24...and then finale a DGT maybe..
      🤷‍♂️ Idk, as always...gots to earn that cabbage first...)

    Great choice, the mini hums are really cool and that brushed nickel cover on the bridge hum makes me almost jealous. I've come to appreciate the Custom 24 (I have an SE) because I have a bad back and 10lb Les Paul can be really problematic after a while. CU24's are easy to play and they have these cool neck shapes that make them easy to play.

      When I was on the road we ran into a guy that played a LP. He had an orthopedic condition. The orthopedic doctor told him his left shoulder was an 1 1/2 inches lower than his right. He suggested he find an orthopedic guitar strap to shift the weight partially to his right shoulder. At some point in the future he may have to have surgery to correct his problem. Like roto-cuff surgery to shorten the tendons that hold your left shoulder up, and possible back surgery. Try a slider ergonomic guitar strap. It will remove that concrete block weight called a guitar

    Congrats on your amazing new guitar! A little bit of nerdy detail about PRS models, The 22 fret neck guitars have the bridge lower in the body which puts it closer to the optimal position on the lower bout, which may help the overall resonance and acoustic sound of the instrument. On the Custom 24 the bridge is just a tiny bit too far up on the body, IMHO...

    • @lone-wolf-1
      @lone-wolf-1 Год назад +1

      Interesting. I would have thought, a elevated bridge and therefore more “leverage“ on it for the vibrating strings, would actually help supporting sustain and resonance.
      Or do you mean, on the 24 frets the bridge to be more towards the center of the body?

    • @Fawkes1978
      @Fawkes1978 Год назад +1

      @@lone-wolf-1 The design of the body between the Custom 24 and Custom 22 (or Studio) are more or less the same, but looking at them from the front you can see that the bridge is closer to the end of the neck on the 24 and therefore, further from the center of the mass of the body. On the 22, the bridge sits further from the end of neck and closer to the end pin (strap button). Something similar happened when manufacturers switched the neck joint on acoustic guitars to the 14th fret from the traditional 12th fret joint used in classical and old parlor guitars...

      That's spoiling my dude.
      11 yrs old? Four new guitars..??
      Man...I rode an old bike miiiles into town to work painting a factory in school holidays so I could buy a second hand Strat copy....and a Peavy Bandit. That was after slumming it on an old acoustic for a year or two.
      I never got lessons...it was all self navigated..even tho the step kids got lessons on the flute and saxophone, respectively.
      I am the only one to still play an instrument. Not a pro, but I've played my share of gigs.
      Hey, each to his own..I'm probably bit of line telling you how to raise your kid...
      But kids just don't appreciate something they didn't have to work for...at least in part.
      Grown ups don't either!
      My father did a $1 for $1 savings scheme to save for that remote control car I wanted. He would match whatever I managed to save....so when I saved $100, he added $100, so I could get the $200 car.
      Dad was quite well off, his business was killing it at the time. It wasn't about the few hundred dollars. It was about teaching me the value of a dollar, and to delay gratification etc.

    Congratulations! My first PRS was a Studio too (the previous run of them) - love it! I still have it, and PRS have been replacing every other guitar in my collection now. They're just that good. The Studio is still my favourite 👌

    Mia, you made the right call. The “Studio” PRS is top 3 best model they’ve ever made in my opinion. Such a versatile guitar for any genera of music. Can’t wait for some vids of you rock’n it once you get a feel for it.
