I have a 2018 MKZ and I think the cold weather effects these cars a lot. I am in Dallas, TX and I am not having a lot problems you talked about and my car has sat outside its whole life.
Hey mate, not sure if you're still checking comments on this video or not, but just wanted to let you know: The cord that you have running through the A-pillar trim on the passenger side, not sure if that's for a dash cam or not, but I would recommend rerouting it such that you're only travelling up the length of the A-pillar trim on the windshield side, rather than the door side. So you would probably want to run it between where the dash and the A-pillar trim meet best that you can, then start running it up against the windshield behind the trim. In the event the side curtain airbag has to deploy, although the force is substantial, there is a chance that the tether that anchors the forward-most point of the curtain will hang on that cord the way it currently is routed and prevent proper deployment, notably for the front passenger. I had originally routed my dash cam with the cord running the way you currently have yours, but then I found out.
Very interesting. I actually never thought about that. Thankyou for your detailed comment, I hope more people will see this. I will fix that immediately
I have A Lincoln 2016 3.7L V6 AWD - I purchased it 11/2018 it was a Certified Pre-Owned with 28,300 miles on it. At 31,000 miles I took it in for a PTU gear oil drain and fill at that time they said it was leaking in 3 places anmsend me home with a rental. I proceeded to call Lincoln directly to complain which ended in me purchasing thier best Lincoln Protect PremiumCare warranty. Since then they replaced and Idler Pulley, the APIM (sync computer) on vacation in Florida, ventilated seat module & wiring harness, half shaft seal prior to the PTU FAILURE, backup camera all replaced within 5300 miles. 5 days from now both rear shocks will be replaced so within about 7300 miles they have installed $5,500 USD in parts plus labor. Had I not bought that warranty I'd be up a creek without a paddle and then there's the Aluminum hood. When I heard it had Aluminum body panels on it I thought great it won't rust even though all these repairs I still love driving the car. It's amazing in the snow top. I didn't buy it for snow handling I bought it for spirited driving on dry pavement. AT THE TIME OF THE PTU REPLACEMENT I had the RDU drained and filled the rear one isn't to be serviced for 50,000 miles. The heavy weight oil had already began to oxidize so you guys with AWD you have maintenance to do that's not in the manual I've also changed my oil every 6 months or when the life meter reads 50% whichever comes first NEVER WAIT 12 MONTHS if you don't drive much the additives in thr oil break down within 6 months FORD BOSS ME has the knowledge he's worked for Ford over 25 years and has 450 extra training courses under his belt look him up
Ive been driving a 2010 ford fusion hybrid with hardly any issues, reached 240,000 before it got totaled 😅. Original ac conpressors, water pumps and everything. A couple of o2 sensors, and one evap sensor (not the easiest). Never had any major issues with it. Bought another one shortly after. But been itching for an upgrade for myself, mkz hybrid will be my next. Probabaly 2017 or newer, not trying to overpay.
150k km on my 15 hybrid. So far I've only had the a pillars bubble and the rear shocks clunk. The a pillars are NOT fun to replace 🤣🤣. The shocks are simple
I looked at a used 2013 MKS 3.5 eco - boost ,took for test drive on return trip to dealer whitish smoke was bellowing out from back of hood & cowl , made the mistake and changed the air conditioner settings and the smoke was blowing into cabin and when I opened hood smoke was coming from back side of motor and firewall , car was loaded to the gills with every known option, dealer was asking $8,000 car had ether 114,000 or 138,00 miles, super nice car except burning smell 😢 price was firm LoL
I test drove a 2013 MKS 3.5L eco-Boost and did the same thing as did the one you test drove , biggest issues with any Ford Car / Truck or Lincoln Vehicle is poor oil change maintenance , My boss bought a brand new Ford 4Dr F150 Crew Cab , drove it for 4,000 miles before it blew up , bottom end , 3.5L eco-Boost , dealership gave him New Truck , installed a new motor got sold on used car lot
Do you know how to remove the border pieces on the rear? Both of mine need wrapped and I would like to get it done. The one on my MKZ above windshield started peeling while still in original warranty and dealer replaced it under warranty.
Hello, thank you for the useful videos about MKZ, I'm from Bahrain (Middle East), I'm planning to buy an MKZ, it is very very rare to find one in the streets but i found one for sale at ford and Lincoln dealer in my country, 2015 MKZ 3.7 V6 FWD run around 63k Km odometer, actually I'm so hesitant to buy it. Do you recommend?
I have a 2013 3.7 FWD transmission fluid was changed every 20k miles, the car is now at 62,000 miles. I'm getting this annoying shudder while coasting, coming to stops, and when taking off from a stop, along with a loud click like something is engaging/disengaging. Shifts between 2nd to 3rd gear are getting rough as well. Really disappointed in this car.
Sorry to hear that. You should try out Lucas transmission fix. I’ve tried it on another vehicle and it seemed to fix the shudder. Worse case scenario, could source a used transmission or rebuild it with better parts
So I have 2013 MKZ 2.0 L 4 cyl and I drive about to hours and turned my car off and when I came back and tried to start my car it wouldn’t turn over. All the electronics worked and so did my key fob. When I try to start it I can hear it try to turnover but I dint know what the problem is?
@@321verykind so I was in my friends 2013 fusion and realized the A Pillar trim is the exact same design as on our MKZ's. On the fusions (at least his). The pillars are not fabric covered, they are just hard plastic, I'm going to try to find some used trim and swap them out. That way the fabric/glue problem can't happen again. Figured I'd let you know
@@yjk94 very interesting. I haven't come across many complaints regarding faulty backup cameras. Hope you get yours fixed. Maybe go aftermarket if its cheaper?
That's funny cause I have a 2014 MKZ with just over 1100 miles and other than regular yearly service have NEVER had any problem with my car, Yours sounds like an owner who simply does not know how to maintain his/her car
Over the past year, I've watched a lot of MKZ reviews. None offered these insights. Thank you.
Thanks for the support.

Glad to hear your MKZ has been trouble free. I hope it gives you years of reliable service:)

Now thats a lot of miles. The 2017+ is a bargain these days, but definitely get the hybrid. It’s a bang for your buck:)
Great job on your video...I do have a problem with the outside temperatures sensor but didn't know where it was..Thanks
No problem. I have a video coming up showing how to replace it.
Great video very interesting and informative 📹.
Thank you:)

Yikes. Early ecoboosts have issues, but at that price, its a steal

Yes, i am planning to do a video on that soon. It just a bunch of clips, you can just gently pry it out
Thank you I will be looking for the video

Yes, it’s a good combo. Just watch out for the water pump. I heard the replacement got a better design.
I am having the peeling Sunroof problem on my Genesis too.
Yeah i had that on my genesis too. Sucks
you think it’s still reliable because i want the 2013-2016 model
100%! Every car has its issues, just make sure you get a good warranty……this ain’t a Lexus

How many kilometers/miles on it? Does it struggle to turn over or won’t turn over at all?
How reliable is the engine n transmission
So far so good. No issues
My car died last night and now the button for the trunk does not work and neither does the key fob button. How can I fix this?
Open the key fob. It has a key inside. Use it to unlock the driver door and access the back of the trunk
I hve a 2013 Lincoln mkz and u change the fuel pump but it still want start it says the control module circuit system is open what does that mean
I am not sure. Check it out with a mechanic or check the real Lincoln MKZ enthusiast Facebook page
How to fix warning lights on 2013 MKZ? Collision Warning Not Available, Check Adaptive Headlamps, Bind Spot System Fault.
Great car though!!!
Most likely wheel abs sensor. Check out my channel on how to change that
Whats the video called?
I have same issue
Did you ever find a way to fix your A pillar trim?
No I have not. It’s gotten worse. I’m thinking of injecting some glue into it and where that takes me

It’s most likely a sensor
Problem #7. “Backup camera not working. Contact dealer.”
Oh no. Have you tried unplugging the battery for 10 minutes?
Yes. Along with other methods from RUclips. I think the issue might be corrosion from water damage..
