Throne of Valoria is tripping me out. I thought it was Awita: Journey of Hope at first. The leading characters looking identical. Was someone copying the other team's notes? Kind of funny that Little Nemo is getting two games. Moon Samurai is the winner of this list as far as I'm concerned. I will always be interested in cyberpunk action games with great pixel art.
I had the exact same reaction with Throne of Valoria, the main characters are incredibly similar if not identical. As for Moon Samurai, it looks stellar!
If I may add something here - Throne of Valoria is made by 2 people, and we come from 3D art backgrounds, so our prior pixelart experience is next to zero. So we purchased licensed pixel art assets from a third-party artist(s), which are available to multiple developers. This might explain the similarities to other projects like Awita: Journey of Hope (I assume they did the same thing) We’re still learning pixel art, and using licensed assets lets us focus on gameplay and story while we improve. We value originality and plan to add more unique assets as the project evolves. Hope this clears up some stuff 🙂
Played teh demo for Echo Weaver. One of the first things you do is re-learn how to use a glaive weapon that you can launch at enemies, or switches far away, and then recall to yourself. So there are definitely abilities in the game. They just aren't as obvious. wishlisting Comix Zero. Metro Gravity's got a demo. Will have to check it out. Throne of Valoria reminds me of a demo I played for a different game. Was it renamed from something?
So Aquaria from 2007, Comix Zone but Search/Action game, Half Minute Hero but a Search/Action game, Guacamelee but Norse mythology, Gravity Rush 2 but on the N64, Little Nemo on NES but with the Wii style of A Boy and His Blob, Axoim Verge but in space (making it even more like Metroid), Momodora Reverie Under the Moonlight but with slightly more detailed backgrounds, Mark of the Ninja but as a samurai, Kunai but you're Travis Touchdown with a screen for a face, and a SECOND Little Nemo NES game but with more animated art like Cuphead. These games seem to have some unique aspects to them but they really do look remarkably similar to games that have been out for years or even decades.
@soulsborneseeker outer wilds is in my opinion the perfect game and the best one ever made. It's not my personal favorite, which are the ori games but it's my #2 and SOMA is my #3 :)
It is the last one, Little Nemo and the Nightmare Fiends (if that's the thumbnail you're referring to, since I have three of them running at the same time)!
Primal Planet has already been featured in a past video. I think Brave Cave is the one that was renamed to Brave Escape, but it doesn't look like a metroidvania to me. Do you know if the developers have said that it's a metroidvania?
Many of these games have truly awesome artwork, but I just can’t stand anything that uses those goofy paper cartoon looking Dragonbones animated characters.. I wish that never became a trend 😵💫
Did any of these games catch your eye?
Meh
@EverRusting Check out the other videos in this series, you are bound to find some games to your liking there!
Thanks for the feature! 😊
You're very welcome!
Thankyou for the spotlight
@@ThroneofValoria You're very welcome!
Thank you for the feature!!!
Always a pleasure :D
Little Nemo and the Guardians of Slumberland look incredible! Cute and funny!
Indeed! Amazing art and animation, and I also love the color palette of the game!
I knew about the first Little Nemo game, but not the second.
Same for me, I wasn't aware of the second one, but had been following the first one for a while!

@@ThroneofValoria That's great to know, thanks for clarifying!

Oh, that's great to know about Echo Weaver! As for Valoria, you may be referring to Awita, since the main characters are almost identical.
@@soulsborneseeker yeah, Awita is the one.
The resemblance is uncanny.

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed your matching of these games to other games they remind you off, that was quite creative and fun to see :D
Awesome list!
It also made me realize I spend too much time following gaming news as I was aware of every game.
I really need to get a life 🤣
Ahahaha, gaming is a way of life in itself 😄
Silksong is really a distant dream
We can only dream about it, at the moment :(
Chronicles of the Wolf
Already covered in a past video! It looks awesome and reminds me of Castlevania in the best of ways!
metro gravity👍
Looks super intriguing!
Inspired by OUTER WILDS???!!!! Wishlisted
Indeed, it's a huge plus!

Hi, What is the game in the thumbnail?
It is the last one, Little Nemo and the Nightmare Fiends (if that's the thumbnail you're referring to, since I have three of them running at the same time)!
Primal Planet
Brave Cave
Why you still dont talk about this games?
Primal Planet has already been featured in a past video. I think Brave Cave is the one that was renamed to Brave Escape, but it doesn't look like a metroidvania to me. Do you know if the developers have said that it's a metroidvania?

I don't mind said visual style/animation, as long as the gameplay is engaging!
"Proudly developed in Ukraine" - yeah, that one wont see release.
Things are definitely ominous for that one :(
