Because maybe your struggles aren't as unique as you think. Thousands of others have gone through the same stuff you're most likely experiencing. "Life for you, has been less than kind So take a number, stand in line We've all been sorry, we've all been hurt But how we survive, is what makes us who we are "
The last time I seen them live, on the Warning tour, This was the first song they played. Billie goes. " Were gonna start off with some old shit, hears disappearing boy" They went on to bring down the house that night! A memorable show indeed!
Green Day is MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BAND! From their old stuff to their new! I support them in anything they do! How ever, I adore their old stuff! I do just as well appreciate their New Stuff! Green Day your amazing! Keep up the amazing work you do! :)
I used to be obsessed back in middle school with Green Day, like everyone else, but then they kind of faded out and rap/pop came around. But I still loved Green Day. I kind of feel old for loving them. No matter if I listen to other bands or rap or pop, Green Day is always where it's at and they remain my favourite no matter what.
dont sweat it, just keep thinking i get that alot too i just sit on my ass for awhile try to come up with something else, im sure that happens to alot of these great artists too
John Ciena what happens with me is I write lyrics and I look back at some of their earlier stuff and I think well I guess my song's ok it might have gotten featured on shenanigans but then I listen to the music and realize I'm terrible at writing the music part of it. XD (right now I'm really starting to look into songs and try and figure out how to get the right chord progression and melody etc.
this album is the most recent one i got and i love it so much reminds me of when I began listening to green day back when dookie came out i was barely two years old then and I still love them just the same and this song kicks ass
@Pineapple201201 same here man. some of us jus dont belong to the society were placed in. but ya know what? im damn proud of it. some day ill get outta this town and be able to live the life i truly wish to live
This has my step sons feelings written all over it of when he goes to his dads house and has 4 other siblings to fight for love and affection. When he is home with me and my wife it’s just him one on one.
@Minority721 That is a great point! In my opinion it is silly to argue about the same band anyway. All bands evolve and change over time. Even styles of music change over time. Look at rap music in 1984... There was nothing gangster about rap at that point in time.
Dosen't anyone hate it when your friends want to listen to rap and stuff at parties or they say music like this is gay? I hate it, that's when I want to dissapear.....
Old School Green Day songs were those you could relate to. :) I'll always admire them because of their songs from 89-2001! Now they're middle aged men who just care about politics all of a sudden. ._. Of course, not dissing them, they are still one of the bands that helped change my life. ;D
@austinkopeck A true Green Day fan isn't just someone who likes their old and new music, it's someone who just loves their music for what it is, and of coarse respects the band for who they are and what they are. At least that's my opinion on what a true Green Day fan is, I dunno other people probably have other opinions about it so whatever...
@randomjismthethird yay! hopefully you get into the entire album (and soon, their entire catalogue), because there are a bunch hidden gems like this song that a lot of "general fans" havent come to appreciate (or even know about).
i kind of annoys me how everyone is saying their new stuff sucks. their new stuff doesnt sucks its just different. if they stuck to punk their whole career their music would get old and people wouldnt like them and i agree that the old stuff is better
It seems like for every trauma I go through, Green Day has a song to lift me back up.
Jay Harkins forrealz it's like how could they possibly know
Jay Harkins Theyre like a punk rock version of the beatles. Pretty much feel good songs but punk style.
They got a song for everything. 1039 and Dookie are just super relatable.
Because maybe your struggles aren't as unique as you think. Thousands of others have gone through the same stuff you're most likely experiencing.
"Life for you, has been less than kind
So take a number, stand in line
We've all been sorry, we've all been hurt
But how we survive, is what makes us who we are
"
It works not only for traumas, but generally almost every kind of experience. That's one of the things that got me so keen on Green Day.
Is anyone else having one of those days where they are going to listen to every Green Day song created? No? Ok it's just me then
+Giraffesrcool23 me right now for the first time. xD

Yeah... Especially with these older records...
1:38 to 2:20 is just pure bliss. The key and tempo change is so unexpected and satisfying.

I hate when I'm trying to write music and I hear one of these older songs and I deem my music unworthy.
dont sweat it, just keep thinking i get that alot too i just sit on my ass for awhile try to come up with something else, im sure that happens to alot of these great artists too

@Pineapple201201 same here man. some of us jus dont belong to the society were placed in. but ya know what? im damn proud of it. some day ill get outta this town and be able to live the life i truly wish to live

The 1039 album has that husker du sound.

Celebrated Summer by Husker Du CLEARLY inspired this track
This is my fave Green Day song!
What two people would go to the trouble to look up the lyrics to this less known green day song just to dislike it?
The finest raw Punk Rock ever 😊🤗

This has my step sons feelings written all over it of when he goes to his dads house and has 4 other siblings to fight for love and affection. When he is home with me and my wife it’s just him one on one.

@Minority721 That is a great point! In my opinion it is silly to argue about the same band anyway. All bands evolve and change over time. Even styles of music change over time. Look at rap music in 1984... There was nothing gangster about rap at that point in time.

Dosen't anyone hate it when your friends want to listen to rap and stuff at parties or they say music like this is gay? I hate it, that's when I want to dissapear.....
Is it still gay?
@GreenDay72271 yeah!
Old School Green Day songs were those you could relate to. :)
I'll always admire them because of their songs from 89-2001!

@randomjismthethird yay! hopefully you get into the entire album (and soon, their entire catalogue), because there are a bunch hidden gems like this song that a lot of "general fans" havent come to appreciate (or even know about).
@iSeaSweeneyTodd nofx has been around almost 30 years and they sound the same today as they did 20 years ago
I thought about it and laughed too!
@austinkopeck
i see where your coming from, but being a real fan doesn't mean being there from the beginning, it means being there to the end Xo
@natthelie14 No, I meant you were depressed so you listened to this song. This song would never make anyone depressed!
i kind of annoys me how everyone is saying their new stuff sucks. their new stuff doesnt sucks its just different. if they stuck to punk their whole career their music would get old and people wouldnt like them and i agree that the old stuff is better
I am the disappering boyyyy

Sad lyrics sang in punk.. If this was composed in a sad slow melody am sure lot more would have known about this. Still a great piece

The best song of Green Day I think, the old Green Day was better ):
@Stopreadingthis1235 Totally agreed.

This sounds like Celebrated Summer by Husker Dü
