Just watching Saturday morning. Enjoying the show. Pretty scenery. The fun’s of pulling hopper bottom. Never did that. Always pulled flat or step. Got some cold weather on the way. Take care Gerald.
Yeah man. Hoppers aren’t for everyone. But flats and steps aren’t for everyone either. I don’t miss the tarps but I do miss the fuel mileage! Next week is going to be bad man. I’m leaving Monday in the snow and single digits headed north😑😑😑😑
Be careful in the cold. Have to deliver in Saginaw mi Tues. flatbeds can be a pain. No fun in the winter. You take care. Hope to see you in person sometime.
Hello dirty trucker. Ever since I discovered your channel I have been hooked . You are hard working man doing real trucking. I especially enjoyed the video you made about being an owner/operator, that was spot on. I don’t if you have heard about Prime launching a hopper division. You might just run into them and in your travels and cause you some headaches.😁
Thank you! I have seen one. I’m not going to get worked up about the prime deal just yet. If they ever get big into I might. I really haven’t said much about it because I don’t want to give them any exposure even though everyone has panicked and they have had LOTS of exposer
Great show if you were up here this weekend you would really be cold it's like 40 below not very warm today and I got to go to the hospital and get some chemo hope you had a great holiday
Man 40 below in my 359 would be a case of hypothermia😂 my thoughts and prayers are with you man. My dad is started another round of chemo last week and my mother in law starts another round of radiation this week.
Funny how those places like that take no accountability, its always on the driver. Ive loade at alot of places like that ,utah ,idaho and Montana have lots of ancient grainerys. Amazing how grain dealers who sell grain have no way of weighing the products they sell .
HAULED A LOADS OF CORN SYRUP IN TANKER THIS LAST WEEK. SOME OTHER DRIVER LEFT IT IN THE TERMINAL YARD LOADED FOR AT LEAST THREE DAYS IN BELOW O WEATHER. TOOK ME OVER 5 HOURS TO PUMP 5000 GALLONS OFF. TAKES USUALLY AT LEAST AN HOUR EVEN ON A GOOD 80 DEGREE DAY. I HAD LEAK IN TARP ONE TIME YEARS AGO HAULING WHEAT MIDDS TOOK OVER 3 HOURS GETTING OFF.
@@thedirtytrucker9633 MY DISPATCHER IS ONE OF THE OWNERS OF THE COMPANY. GRANDSON OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF COMPANY. THEY PAID ME AN ADDITIONAL $365.00 DOLLARS ON THE LOAD SO INTHE END IT WAS NOT ALL BAD. THIS IS ON THE CORN SYRUP LOAD. THE GUY I DROVE HOPPER FOR BACK IN THE 90'S FROM SPRING VALLEY, MN. WENT BANKRUPT BECAUSE HE ALWAYS SCREWED HIS DRIVERS OVER. A REAL CROOKED BASTARD ALONG WITH HIS BOOKKEEPER. THEY HURT THEMSELVES IN THE END MORE THAN THEY HURT THE DRIVERS.
You run to a lot of different and smaller independent locations. Remember, a lot of those locations have been around for 50 to 100 years. They were originally designed for much smaller equipment and have been retrofitted. Over the years be lucky for the work and stop complaining about it, the alternative is a box distributor center. The guys are leaving the door open so they can breathe. You're getting a little bit to be the grumpy trucker. I get it, you need to get vibrators and an air system on your hopper. My hopper will clean itself out without me. Getting out of the cab. It makes bulk hauling totally worth it. Also, get yourself some pusher axles and a tag axle, you'll make some real money. Another 25% per load Edit most locations. Guys are smart enough to work with you and load with the nose of your truck into the wind. I understand not everyone can do that. But most of the smaller locations will do it if you just ask
@RH-ln3rd sheesh, was just a suggestion to help ya, nevermind. If you've never seen the hopper air system and vibrators look into them, their pretty cheap considering. Good luck, calm down. Relax behind the wheel.
Yeah man all these places were relatively new. The first two places were real new. Where I loaded potatoes was a real new place. They just didn’t center the chute with the door! Extra axles aren’t a thing where I normally go. As far as an air system I’m guessing you are talking about a hopper tech. If I hauled enough bad stuff to justify 12-16 grand on getting one I would. My vibrators do go for what I do. Man we all have bad weeks. That’s what’s good about this channel. You don’t get a fake feel good vibe when things aren’t great. It’s 100% real here. All the other guys fake it
@thedirtytrucker9633 I hear that for sure, and rereading my original comment I definitely could have worded it better. Apologies, I can relate to it getting real! I was just loading 2 hoppers today in -5° getting them stuck in snow and having the tarp collapse in on a load! It always somthing with these old trucks and hoppers! Good hopper Pete's all have cats so we prob have alot of engines I. Common! Lol. I do like your candor on the channel, it is not a fairy tale running a hopper, I have noticed that most of what you haul is emptying very good compared to DDG and bean meal in the humid summer that I haul out of Nebraska especially after bouncing around for 300-600+ miles. It just packs in there... I had one hopper (regular ag hopper) that it took me and 4 other guys 6 hours to chip it out. After that i said never again!!! I put extra suction vibrators on the hopper slopes and I hang air lines from the cross beams that hang over the trap and I set them up to shoot air into the load, that breaks it free. I kinda built the air systems myself and did it for a about 10K, your pretty close on $$$ ... biggest expense was the bigger compressor and generator yo run it ( but I use it as an apu also) in my area alot of guys has 7-9 axles and is hauling 95K gross min and depending on state to state I can get permitted to 110K for divisible loads. To me that's what pays the bills. I could have definitely worded my original comment better, and I wanted to say I respect what you do and understand . I really like the channel, it's unique. your running east of me, I'm basically Missouri river west. The map 21 states are very truck friendly. I don't go into Illinois, but I did check into it and your correct it's probably not even possible to permit a divisible overload into Chicago! Talk about red tape in the east! I also sometimes "trip plan" routes around the scales. Lol. I'm gonna keep watching because you are real appreciate you taking time to reply, keep telling the story, a man and a Truck and the daily struggles, there is no feeling like getting on that open road loaded with the Pete under your feet and the kitty purring under the long hood. Good luck. Edit, and I learned never haul aggregate or sticky stiff with regular ag hoppers, got all super hoppers now!!! Lol
Love to see a man decide I’m not going through a scale four times lol I mean if you stay away from the fire you won’t get burned. Safe travels.
lol! That’s right! It was one of those in the middle of the interstate too.
Hopper bottom looks like the squirts! Makes me appreciate drop and hook, turn and burn.
Oh yeah man! This isn’t for everyone!

Them suction fans look like a win-win you think every facility would have such a thing
Mani wish more people had them!
Ha you hauling screenings. I worked at a Cargill. Its all the crap from grain cleaning. Chaff and dirt. Always face the wind if possible.
No doubt! It was a mess!
Enjoyed the video as usual looks like a lot of fun. 😂 Dig what you do sir.

Yeah, I saw it!! 🎣😂😂
You should have 4 empty cat scale tickets one at full tanks, 1 at 3/4,1/2,1/4 or do they want them to be up to date?
Idk if they got to being Sherlock Holmes then the date would probably matter.
That looks identical to the diamond pet foods in Gaston SC
That’s crazy. I guess diamond likes to have their plants looking similar!
Buy a portable camera with a magnet and monitor. Face the camera to your back gauge and keep the monitor in your truck.
Man I was doing that with my go pro and forgot and and left it mounted and it ended up falling off.

great video sir
Thanks! I appreciate it
Give bakery meal a shot.bad crap after it cools

Question when will you have that 379 up running again driver?
I went and got an estimate written on it last week but haven’t got the final tally back yet. I’m ready though
Larry's, better then the beacon.
Where is Larry’s?
@thedirtytrucker9633 the restaurant, the best burgers in Wisconsin.
Trailer full of instant mash taters lol
Yeah man! Needed some milk and butter in there and drive across I-70 in Indiana and we’d have cream taters at the Ohio line😂
Do you go to Kansas?
Hardly ever. Most of my loads are east of the Mississippi
