Gorgeous duet song from "An American Tail". Linda Ronstadt is one of the best female singers & can sing any genre from ballads to country to rock & even opera. She has had so many hits such as "Blue Bayou", "You're No Good", "Long Long Time", "Poor Poor Pitiful Me", "Desperado" etc. Ronstadt also did a great duet with Aaron Neville called "Don't Know Much". The Eagles were her backing band till they went out on their own & she has covered a lot of their songs.
Linda Ronstadt - 11 Grammys, 3 AMAs, 2 ACMs, an Emmy, an ALMA, Grammy & Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, National Medal of Arts & Humanities. Many of her albums are certified gold, platinum or multiplatinum in the U.S. & internationally. She sang folk-rock, rock, country, The Great American Songbook, light opera & Latin. James Ingram - American singer/songwriter with 2 Grammys.
CONGRATULATIONS you just stumbled into a gold mine! She's an OMG vocalist. She is a prolific artist. She recorded 20+ albums, had 38 hits and won a dozen Grammys, and was the first female act to sell out stadiums. Linda could sing circles around anyone, man or woman! You have a lot to discover in this unmatched monster! Start with Blue Bayou, her signature song, Desperado and Long Long Time (which is trending because it was played on a hit TV show). Then GOOGLE EVERYTHING about, and RUclips EVERYTHING she ever sang. Her live versions are often better than the records.
This song was popular! I think it was An American Tail ....the movie. They had a few more spinoffs ... Fievel goes West etc.... linda Ronstadt is a legend. Blue Bayou is a classic of hers. James Ingram....what a voice! I got teary eyed with this song again. Thanks for reviewing! ❤️
I remember this song from when I was about 6 here in America. A big #2 Billboard hit in '87. I even had the sequel "An American Tail: Fievel goes West" poster in my bedroom.
This song was played over a montage of guests on my wedding video in 1988.. Very emotional at the end when it played over my now late, ex father in law...tears.... Beautiful song and 2 beautiful voices.
Willie Nelson (heard of him?) once said, "There are two kinds of men in this world, those who have a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who have never heard of her."
Surprised you hadn't heard of Linda Ronstadt before. She is very versatile and has sung more songs for soundtracks besides her own albums. I particularly like her song "Winter light" which was used in the 1993 movie adaptation of "The Secret Garden". As for this video, I actually remember seeing it in the cinema together with the movie. They played the music video first. That's how popular it was.
Yeah she passed me by for some reason. I really enjoyed it! =) I think I may have seen the cartoon when I was a kid, thas why I recognized it a bit. But that was a loooong time ago.
TBF I don’t think she has really done anything in the last 20-years or so. I know she lost her ability to sing but I don’t remember when it happened? Still if you don’t put anything out in a few years people seem to forget about you, or younger generations don’t know about you.
Everyone forgot about James Ingrahm. In the USA for Africa video reactors say, "who is that guy?" You have a good excuse. You have never heard of him. But what about everyone who listened to him back in the day and knew how great he is? They are the real villains. What a voice!
It better be good; it took James Horner, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil to write it (and I'm sure they earned approximately a billion USD each for it; more than Ronstadt and Ingram!). I'm shocked to see how youthful Ronstadt was here - she'd been around since the Sixties and had already been a star for 20 years, but she started so young, so she was probably only around 40 here.
An American Tail! Linda is an American treasure. Her older 60s/70s material is incredible, a voice from God. Same can be said of James. Linda has had hits in more charts than about any other, as she’s a Spanish singer as well. Check out any albums from her days as a Nelson Riddle, big band and swing standards singer.
Oh David as a music lover of 70s and 80s music how can you never have heard of Linda Ronstadt! She was as big then as Beyonce is now. Great voice, big hits, she could sing anything, from ballads to country to pop, rock and musicals. Hits like Just One Look, Blue Bayou, You're No Good etcetera. If you wanna know who she is, on RUclips is the docunentary Linda Ronstadt The Sound Of My Voice.
ABBAMAN . Linda was incredible singer during the 70's and 80's and rivaled Olivia on the charts. She had so many great songs which resulted in two greatest Hits so you might want to check out some of her other she no longer sings which is sad but she left incredible amount of music for us to enjoy
Everything from this movie was wholesome and great, it very much gets lost in the shuffle of Disney movies of the time. And Linda Ronstadt had been singing for so long it was a guaranteed win
Ahh yes can’t believe I forgot all about this movie. Watched many times with my daughter all so many years ago. Still have the vhs tape. Why do I always seem to feel older not younger. A very nice song, thanks for the reaction
These are two legendary artists....James Ingrams one of the Kings of R&B, Linda Ronstadt one of the greatest female vocalists of all-time and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer. Mr. Ingram has passed on...Linda is retired.
Vackert! Har inte hört sången tidigare men känner till artisterna. Du har ju redan fått svar på filmen, på svenska heter den Resan till Amerika( tack google). Tack för nu🙏🏻
Hello David, bueatiful song...l remember it well! Linda Ronstadt had a gorgeous, silky voice..had many hits including country. She has 11 Grammys, 3 American Music Awards, 2 Academy of Country Music Awards, an Emmy and an ALMA. Sadly in 2012 she was diagnosed with an incurable degenerative disease called Supranuclear Palsy. James Ingram died in 2019 of brain cancer.. Gorgeous singer. Between them, they had so many hits. Brought back memories! Thankyou bello! Ciao! ( I know you like info. on artists and such! ) 😎🤗❤
An american tail was a 1986 animated film in theatres from don bluth and steven spielberg. It was a huge hit at the box office getting toys and mcdonalds kids meals! This video is listed by many places as the first animated film to get a music video on mtv. This is wrong as he-man and she-ra secret of the sword had "i have the power" in 85 and transformers the movie had stan bush and robotech the movie (before the failed Texas screening) had 3 dog nights videos early 86 both beating this to the punch, but they faded away fast. This song on the other hand was a huge hit! Linda would return to do the second american tail with "dreams to dreams" complete with music video. Disney would copy this later making videos for its animated films. This beat disney to the punch.
The film and the song was very big here in the UK 🇬🇧 in 86 I love them both film and the song films called American tail check out her other duet with Aaron nevill it's called I don't know much awesome song to
This is an old, old song and that's why you were not familiar with it, I guess. I was all over the place long time ago. Nice song. I cannot place the cartoon either.
Fin sång som verkligen berörde ❤️ Texten gick rakt in i hjärtat 💗 Låten är från filmen An American Tail från 1986 ”resan till Amerika” Förresten fått någon semla idag? Jag har fått 2 😉
There is a 2019 documentary about Linda called “Linda Ronstadt: The Sound of My Voice”. It is a must-see. Here is the trailer- ruclips.net/video/eDMYAsu5PvI/видео.html
For some unknown reason utube has been picking a lot of Linda lately know idea why. Was surprised when I saw the name. Do like her but not my wheelhouse of music. Anyway do know the song and movie too. Can’t remember off the top of my head. Did enjoy the music and video. As usual out working and will watch tonight. Thanks for another good one. Wow what a ramble I did. As a curiosity question did you see sabaton yet or getting close ?
Its the wonder of the RUclips Algorithm ;) The more you listen to an artist, or similar artists, the more reccomendations for similar things you will see. An American Tail :D I saw Sabaton Live on Saturday, it was EPIC :D
I understand your frustration, but if I took all requests for free, I would be drowning in them. Also, I would earn zero on my channel because I get nothing from the videos themselves, since they all contain copyrighted material 🙏🏻

Not one of the best. The BEST EVER!!! No one else comes close to her versatility.

You forgot to mention Linda Ronstadt also received a Kennedy Center Honor....she's simply amazing!

Two of the greatest singers of the twentieth century. Huge rabbit holes for each of them!

That's it Fievel.. The mouse that was driving me nuts!!!
@@PerryCJamesUK haha I remember it so well.
Thank you Tanya!
Hearing the 'hiss' in the background, kinda like listening to the radio back in the day
Linda does some wonderful songs. I think she has one called What'll I Do, which was a classic standard. Gorgeous.
I remember this song from when I was about 6 here in America. A big #2 Billboard hit in '87. I even had the sequel "An American Tail: Fievel goes West" poster in my bedroom.

How come only patrions can request songs on your channel? There are poor people out there that can’t afford to pay you for requests
