I had trouble getting the spacers lined up, and the aluminum piece that is installed over top of the spring to stay flat when I tried to assemble the two halves. So I screwed the 3 screws part way into the handle, put the spacers over the exposed threads with some loctite to hold the spacers in place, then placed that assembly down onto the handle which holds the spring. That seemed to work better for me. The video was very helpful, though. My knife was dirty and the speed safe assist was not flicking the blade open very well. Now it works great.
Isopropyl alcohol on the pads and brush to sterilize, polishing compound on the rag to remove light scratches/discoloration from raw metals, and the white lithium grease is to help lubricate but mostly to stop the torsion bar from rattling around when not under load. The torsion bar is indeed spring like, and it assists the blade open, for one handed operation.

What where the specific products you used and why? Specifically the white paste holding down the metal bar? And what was that bar, a spring?

@@harleytiger760 This knife uses a T8 torx but for the pivot screw, and a T6 torx for all other screws.
What made you want to pull it apart when it seemed to open just fine? Was there a specific problem?
This is a second hand knife recently scored off eBay auction, likely from a TSA confiscation. Needed a good deep cleaning for it's new lease on life!
Does the screws come with loctite already on them from the factory
They do come with loctite from Kershaw. It's best to reapply when reassembling so they do not back out or become loose from day to day use.
