Great looking farm. What's the use of asking the same questions many times and shocked at the same answer repeated to you? I absolutely love hard working Africans and agriculture in general. If I could suggest, I prefer to see specialized farming. Do chickens alone or goats or fish or pigs. It's a common practice in our lovely African to jumble everything in one farm but not great at any one practice. Out in USA, EUROPE, Asia, people pick on type like cattle or chicken an perfect it over decades. I really wish our farmers could embrace specialized agriculture. The resources used to produce goats, pigs and fish could have been used to improve the infrastructure and production of the chicken farm but instead, it's used for other projects hindering the success of the chicken farm. Best of luck and great job.
You have a great 👍🏿 point. I did not realize I was asking same questions. The owner is a good friend of mine and very shy 🙈 so I did a walkthrough with her first then engaged the farm manager himself later. So it’s obvious I will ask same questions and thank God their answers whisper to me that she knows what’s going on in the farm and taking records as well. In regards to specialized farming; you are perfectly right but again some people want variety. If I go into Such business I personally will like to take on two or three projects so poultry, and goats 🐐 may be ideal for me. But you have a great point worthy of consideration. Thanks 😊
@@TheSENYO Glad you clarified yourself. Great thing is you helped her in offering exposure. I am a rancher and I have cattle since 2003 in Africa and I am in USA. I have taken this long to horn in on cattle farming and I am just beginning to see a smooth running operation and Great yields too. I am considering expanding it from a few hundreds to thousands but it took long to master the trade. I would have long tired out or given up or never arrived such results if I had embraced many types of farming. You know, we have dreams and we can't accomplish them all. We just need to pick the best one. Farming is difficult and broad, we as Africans tend to chase the money/market on every type but forget to realize that you can be a builder/carpenter/electrician/doctor/lawyer and be good in all of them. Same in farming. It's better to pick one and dominate the region/country as the best than small here small there. I see chicken farmer in USA with 350,000 laying hens or 5000 reproducing cattle or 12000 pigs and it's family owned and operated. One family. Grand father started it then passed it to son then grandsons and so on. That's how wealth is built. We don't follow that in Africa and that is a major problem if we will one day be successful as a continent. I wish your friend could follow my advise but I doubt she would. With the current capacity and having partners, she is at the break out point but she is delaying that explosive phase by diversifying. She should "keep the main thing, the main thing". Thanks a lot for bringing her operation to the world. Success in all you/her do. God bless

Your youngest birds are about 10months meaning all the 10 000 birds are in production and you are only 160 trays of eggs at peak, When you could be getting about 300 trays per day. You should get back to the drawing board.
Thanks for the comment I should have explained better. We visited Keta and on our way back to Accra I requested we pay the farm a quick visit. Video was not planned but that’s one of my most viewed videos. 4,500 birds at the time of video were about 10 weeks nit 10 months and not started laying yet. The brown birds to the other stretch and another pen, which was the first pen were the ones actively laying so about 5,500 birds were actively laying. you farm is not healthy. You need to improve the health of you land space. What is wrong with the birds is how you house the birds this is a major reason why you are having so many issues
Very well understood. I also believe every business goes through phases Every phase requires proper assessment Planting grass to cover land will be ideal but also bear in mind that the grass will need to be mowed regularly and birds can’t stand noise of mower. It may cause panic. Also the business is growing and I can say they moving in right direction to maximize the land usage. It started with 1 pen housing about 2000 birds now they have two, housing 8,500 to 10,000 birds. The cause of reduction in egg 🥚 production happens in most farms and theirs was due to feed supply. I will still raise your concern and have them discuss possible resolution. Thanks 🙏

@@markntiri8251 so I will answer based on information I have. Am planning to go back and interview. Am guessing because of the French you want to know if he is Ghanaian. History tells me we are one ☝️ people with diverse backgrounds. I will find out that information. No concerns of snakes 🐍 were raised and herdsmen issue is a no no. Not in Sogakope I know of. Ghana 🇬🇭 has very little issue with herdsmen. She employs locals and has ready market for the eggs 🥚. I understand if you register your farm for the first 5 years or so it’s normally tax exempt. Exactly what the African continent requires!! Let's ashame our unhelpful leaders by doing it for ourselves.
The best way to go. Doing it ourselves, thanks 😊

@@stefanogizzler hmmm hot topic.
So long as those in authority- traditional rulers and government won’t change their approach to development, it more like easier said than done. If a chief will sell or give land to others to destroy and not give to his own people to farm, then there is a problem. We can only speak 🗣 about it while we keep doing our best to develop.

Impressive content...really appreciate this. I'm looking to get into poultry farming myself and this was very informative. Sister Rita is doing it major over there in Ghana and the manager in charge seems dedicated and educated. I wonder if she does any consultations? Please do let me know. Getting accurate information on poultry farming isn't great. People tend to tell you different things. It was nice to hear some Ga being spoken at the end.😊
Thanks 😊 for the kind words. I believe she is open for consultation. I will discuss with her and get back to you. Yes the farm manager is educated in what he does and he does a great job 👏. This content though made in haste and unplanned brought my Channel the needed numbers. There is a deeper story and will try and interview them again if possible. Message me on Instagram Skt_in_focus let’s talk. Thanks my brother and ohh I did Ga in basic school so you already know. I speak 🗣 Ewe and Twi as well. Looking to add one more if possible. Thanks 🙏

When I see a poultry farm with lot's of trash laying around, free ranging birds around the coups, no bio containment it makes me think it's only a matter of time before disease wipes out all the flocks. Hope not, but it's extremely common.
Very well noted and has been discussed, with key efforts to improve surroundings etc.
I learnt a lot and hope to bring an update video with a facelift. Most empires started like this and gradually improved. Thanks 😊

God bless
@@Gamma19245 In the US, UK and Asia too people do Mixed Farming so stop your nonsense comparisons and let them enjoy their farming. How big is your farm? Cut your useless comparison out and let them do what they want. If they borrowed their capital from you go and take you money back.

Thanks for the advise. Will inform her. She has also promised to do a facelift and build another pen. So gradually she is building her empire.

Hahahahha man you made me laugh 😂
Yes there is money in the bush when well managed
Your youngest birds are about 10months meaning all the 10 000 birds are in production and you are only 160 trays of eggs at peak, When you could be getting about 300 trays per day. You should get back to the drawing board.
Thanks for the comment
I should have explained better. I later learned great 👍🏿 info that led to the poultry farm and had wanted to go back to do an extensive video. They also had an organization for women empowerment visit their farm after they saw the video. Lots of work to do but one step at a time. They had started fish farming also. Thanks for your observation, I can tell you into poultry farming or know about the business. Keep in touch. Am on Instagram as Skt_in_focus
Where I stood and interviewed the farm caretaker, all those birds were not laying yet. I will surely go back for extensive video
Q: Where did they get those farm t-shirt made?
Can they provide contact info from where they purchase their day old birds?

Oh wow nice, guys can I her number please.

you farm is not healthy. You need to improve the health of you land space. What is wrong with the birds is how you house the birds this is a major reason why you are having so many issues
Very well understood. I also believe every business goes through phases
Every phase requires proper assessment
Planting grass to cover land will be ideal but also bear in mind that the grass will need to be mowed regularly and birds can’t stand noise of mower.
Thanks 🙏
She just started, a step at a time. Looking at everything at the farm, she has invested a great deal of money. Everything is the world takes time to grow (so do u) and in the next two to three year,u will be surprised.

The nice ones they show on TV are mainly grown with hormones to feed the masses. This chickens/birds are healthy and lay great eggs. @SKT In Focus is the caretaker Ghanaian? How's their issue with snakes, thieves, herdsmen like? Does she have a ready market for the eggs, pigs? Does she pay any taxes to the local assembly?
@@markntiri8251 so I will answer based on information I have. Am planning to go back and interview. Am guessing because of the French you want to know if he is Ghanaian. History tells me we are one ☝️ people with diverse backgrounds. I will find out that information. No concerns of snakes 🐍 were raised and herdsmen issue is a no no. Not in Sogakope I know of. Ghana 🇬🇭 has very little issue with herdsmen. She employs locals and has ready market for the eggs 🥚. I understand if you register your farm for the first 5 years or so it’s normally tax exempt. Local tax I don’t have that information. Taxes information is very rigorous and one needs to understand before asking. How many Ghanaians pay tax? Well let me leave it at that. She has contributed her quota- that I know. I hope 🤞 am making sense.
