Thank you John, I like to say that this video is extremely important in order to obtain a job, I mean everything is important but IT Companies when hiring will ask to candidates almost everything about passwords.
We have so many password probs in my biz,..folks getting locked out, forgot passwords,..it's endless! The IT guy makes 150 bucks just to come out and magically "unlock" a frozen PC. Really, that's his main function,,his bread and butter,..the password wars. So, thanks to this video, we'll be spending that jack on office parties instead. THANKS!!!
Thanks a lot for this vid. It truly did help me understand password and lockout policys bether for my school assignment. I also like that you tell us what the best practise of each policy is. Keep up the good work. I will be sure to check for new vids in the future!
New to 2012, that was really great tut very clear, Liked how you show WHAT IS BEST PRACTICE Settings question please can you do 1. How to pull down backup image from WDS or a share to laptop using usb or nic on a fresh laptop harddrive 2. Can you tell me what daily IT check lists on systems you implement for client and server pc things to keep eye out on 3. Whats the best method for getting a physical map of all server and their ip address for creating shares 4. Explain typical network connection issues when connecting networked printer in dhcp setup , common faults or gotchas
Hi there, this has helped me so much with my homework. I just have one more question; is it possible to have an Administrator login prompt pop-up everytime a group is trying to open .exe / .bat files? if so, where can I find this option? Thank you so much.
@ittaster Thank You..this video was a great helped me. From watching this video...I am wondering ... can this also be applied to a SPECIFIC user as well ?? For example ... Roger has special needs that may require him to have a password lockout policy set to maybe 10 tries before he's locked out instead of 3 because of his limitations ... so again...can theses policies be set for specific users as well??
hi, i want to know:- how to get notification from user pc's entered the wrong password. and logon information. i am using windows server 2012 r2. how to manage users? 1) every time user login notification 2) wrong password entry notification. 3) if three times they entered the wrong password contact administrator message how to set that? 4) how to get a history of changing a password? is there any software need to install or we can do it through windows server 2012 R2 ?

Hi I got a question on auditing. Here is a scenario I would like to receive notifications through email if someone change their password or someone added a new user or change user account type or membership in active directory. Thanks in Advance!
Hi, in order to receive email alerts based on specific events, you'll need to consider system management solution or possibly putting something together using Powershell
Nice video! :). I have a question. When i create new GPO and linked to my OU, and when i change Account policy settings in my created GPO, it doesn't do nothing. I mean it still works the same like in Default Domain policy. Can you help me please and thank you!
Hi, the account policy is a computer policy and needs to be applied to the root of the domain, for example the default domain policy, but take care as policies set there affect everything including DCs.

Hi, the only pointers I can really give you are, if your server is a domain controller (AD DS) role installed and configured. The client workstation (Windows 10) needs to be joined to the domain (a home version will not work). Once joined to the domain, a password will be required to log on. My videos on installing and configuring AD DS and joining a computer to a domain and group policy may help.
Hi, group policy is installed as part of Active Directory Domain Services. I've uploaded a new video today that covers installing ADDS with Server 2019 (including group policy) that you might want to check out. Here is the link: ruclips.net/video/h3AFR2hPEDM/видео.html Hope this is of help Jon
Hi, it's only possible to disable user accounts in AD users and computers. A custom powershell script to determine group membership and then disable user accounts are members of the group may be worth looking into.
