I decided to review and re-swatch my Faber Castell Albrecht Durer’s guys! It was a lot of fun and these are great watercolor pencils!
Im looking to complete my collection with a good set of watercolors. Leaning toward those.
I have a set of these and I also purchased a small set of the Caran Dache. I cannot really tell much difference in the quality. I love both! Your work is beautiful!
Is it the supracolors or another? Yes I feel like I’m already satisfied with the Albrecht durers but still curious!
@@AlexisCassandraArt it is the Museum Aquarelle. Super expensive watercolor pencils. I think they are beautiful but I also think Faber Castells are just as good.
Oh I have always wanted to try their watercolor pencils but sadly I don't own any other that their polychromos.
If you ever try them I think a smaller set like 24 would honestly be sufficient because I feel my set is too much!
@@astridyoreoglu7347 that would be so much😂
There’s that turtle! 😂 All of your pencil artworks look great! Mixed media paper can be a right nuisance when it comes to anything water soluble; it just doesn’t work the same as watercolour paper. The new swatch chart looks fine though…I also have the 60 set of these pencils. Someone was selling them online for $20 (as an unwanted gift, gasp!) and I snapped them up. 😄
Thank you! Ah I realized my mistake early on, but I didn’t have any spare non-arches watercolor paper sitting around. I may want to invest in a cheaper wc paper that still performs decently for these instances! $20 is hitting the jackpot!
Beautiful painting‼︎ Lovely‼︎
Masterpiece‼︎😊💕💕💕
Thank you so much!
That art piece you showed of yours with the lady with her eyes covered was so fantastic of an art work! Thanks for the info on the pencils. Personally I've be studying charcoal and wanting to start adding some soft pastel..but I will look these up to get prices too.
Oh thank you so much! I love that piece still. It’s fun to play around with colors and see what you can do. Soft pastel is a lot of fun as well but yeah definitely a totally different medium and great if you like dry media that also blends well!
ammazing artwork :) turtle is beautiful ❤
thank you so much:)
@@AlexisCassandraArt you are welcome :)
Thanks for the review, what sharpener do you recommend for these since they are hexagonal?
Thanks for watching! Hexagonal pencils sharpen well in the Faber Castell Grip Trio Sharpener!
If i was really into drawing i would definitely pick these up, Also i love how fancy the packaging looks
Also the detail on the Girl in the bush you drew and the turtle is insane
Even a 12 set is great to experiment with! But faber castell also has student grade watercolors. They are called goldfabers and they’re fun to play around with. Thank you for watching!
Loveeee that pencil pouch 😍! Wow and all 60 fit in there 🙌🏻👍🏻! I’ve got pencils that are hexagonal shaped- I didn’t realize that was to prevent them from rolling. The water seems satisfying to use. I’ve never experimented with water color pencils- but they seem so interesting to use! Ooooo the piece from 2019 looks SO COOL 🤩! The quality 👏🏻!! The paint really dissolves nicely! I loveeee the turtle too 🐢! I remember the sunflower and pumpkin sketch 🤩!! Makes me miss Fall 🎃. The shades once the water is added- they look so vibrant 😍!!
I miss fall so much right now too haha! Thank you, typo sometimes has those pouches but I didn’t see them last time I went ahh! watercolor pencils are a whole lot of fun if you ever get the chance to use them. Even the faber castell goldfabers which are a lot cheaper than these but a fun experiment. Thank you for watching!😊
Hello 🙂Regarding the ultramarines; I've used the light ultramarine color a lot for shading. I think it's pretty good for that.
I recall the light ultramarine being more useful than the dark! Thank you for your comment😊
I sometimes find swatching fun and awesome, and I sometimes find it just tedious. But I always enjoy watching other people swatch, lol! I agree that the 60-set is too many. I have a 120- and 150-set of Prismacolor pencils, and I prefer my son's 48-set so much more. Less decision fatigue.
Swatching is a weird combination of fun and tedious haha!! 60 is so many colors. I have 120 polychromos as well but that’s a bit more useful than watercolors because colored pencils are hardest to blend and make new colors. I know what you mean about appreciating smaller sets!
I love these watercolor pencils so much. I laughed at the never ending pencil case lol
That pencil case is magical😂😂
I love ADs. So the names did change but the numbers will always match up! Thank you for sharing your thoughts 💜 could you do some layering tutorials on these by chance?
Ah, i should’ve added the numbers to my chart. I may do that later! I’m thinking of making some videos showing my process for different media like wc pencils, colored pencil etc. I’ve haven’t been making tutorials lately but something like that showing my process generally would be fun😊
Beautiful 😍
Thank you:)
I wish I could try those stuffs, unfortunately for now, I need Polychromos the most because of commissions, but at least I can level up to it's 36 colors. I wish I could have it before valentine's.
The Polychromos are definitely worth it. You could always try the watercolor pencils in the future, anyways. Focus on what is best for you! :)
Well, I have doubts with the 2 Star lightfastness, I do worry about my drawing whenever I use 2 Star colors of Polychromos.
Exactly. I think watercolor pencils are overall just less lightfast unfortunately.
Awesome 😍😍😍
Thank you!!
i have the primary colours of these but havent used them yet, really should (i need to go through my supplies and see what I havent used yet and finally use them lol)
I think you'll like them! They are a lot of fun
I have the 60 set and never use them. I thought I would use them a lot but I’d rather just go in with paint and a brush.☹️
I took such a long break from them😦 I have a lot of supplies but get into certain moods and only use a select few for a while! It’s great that you’re comfortable with a brush though! I get nervous doing detail work😂

So true. I mostly watercolor but also use gouache, acrylic gouache, oils, and acrylics. Although I have them I never reach for my watercolor pencils, Inktense pencils or colored pencils. I see a theme forming. I guess I don’t prefer pencils in general.
I think watercolor pencils are great for people like myself who are watercolor challenged 😆! I’ve been practicing painting with watercolors and watercolor pencils. I practice techniques with my DIY watercolor palette and color images with watercolor pencils, because I find watercolor pencils easier to control. Your paintings are amazing and your pencil case is like the Tardis from Dr Who. 😎
I am also kind of watercolor challenged😂😂 oh I know what you mean, the pencils are definitely easier to control! Thank you for watching😊
@@AlexisCassandraArt your welcome. 🤗
