    Hey just a simple math teacher here. I created the point system you were thinking of that reflects effort and uses your card system too if you would like.
    Main Lead = 25 pts. ( 1 per shoot x 52 weeks) 1,300 pts. available
    Main Actor = 10 pts. (6 per shoot x 52 weeks) 3,120 pts. available
    More Lead = 3 pts. (1 per shoot x 3 per week x 52 weeks) 468 pts. available
    More Actor = 2 pts. (6 per shoot x 3 per week x 52 weeks) 1,872 pts. available
    Reacts = 1 pt. (3 per shoot x 5 per week x 52 weeks) 780 pts. available
    Side + = 5 pts. ( 4 per shoot x 52 weeks) 1,040 pts. available assuming you do 1 game show and 1 side cast per week together)
    Total pts available per year = 8,580 / 7 sidemen = 1,225 points per person for fair share and participated in everything. I think an estimate of 1,150 points per year allows for people to be on vacation , get sick, or just need a day off.
    I agree for fairness that there should be a minimum requirement for each category, but that based on what you all feel is fair.
    Still keeping your card system too! yellow card = -50% points, Red card = -100% points.
    Averages out to leading 7-8 main channel videos, participating in 45-46 main channel videos, leading 22-23 more sidemen videos, participating in 133-134 more sidemen videos, and participating in 111- 112 reacts videos. Also need to participate in 29-30 side + days.
    You guys work too much! lol But I love what you do!

    • @MultiBiggie007
      @MultiBiggie007 2 месяца назад +9

      nah the list is fucked.
      Only 15p more for hosting a main channel vid instead of just being there... and only 1p more for hosting a MoreSidemen video. Nobody would want to take a MoreSidemen video.
      You would also have to distinguish between a MoreSidemen mini-gameshow and a gaming video. Havingin to collect 1150 points is still way too many. You say they have to average 7/8 main channel vids and participate as an actor in 45/46... So what, doing 52/54 main channel vids per year, which only gives you 625 points? You would be totally fucked if you took a few weeks off.

    • @malloryterpening3791
      @malloryterpening3791 2 месяца назад +8

      @MultiBiggie007 then you make a better one. I think participating in main channel should be about 50% of the required work over everything else they still do! So you do everything you still need to participate in all things sidemen. And why distinguish between the game shows and gaming? They both require 1 person to lead. And why shouldn't participation in a video be valued?

      @@malloryterpening3791 i think yours works, your cards are a bit confusing though do you mean 50% of the total points they have or 50% off of the points they wouldve got for that shoot in which case i think it works well

    • @MultiBiggie007
      @MultiBiggie007 2 месяца назад +4

      @@malloryterpening3791 So You think your system is perfect? Ok, well I think your weights are off, and the points target you've set is unrealistic. The math here is child's play-anyone over 12 could figure it out. The problem is that your setup is overly simplistic.
      There's a big difference between hosting a mini-game show and throwing together a gaming video. Even if they both take one person to lead, the effort required is vastly different. Hosting a game show is more work than selecting a GTA playlist, so they should have different weights. It’s simplistic to lump all MoreSidemen or Side+ videos together like they’re the same thing.
      People also need to be able to take time off without stressing over "getting points," especially when life happens. Ethan has a kid, Vik has Crohn's Disease... They shouldn't have to worry about this nonsense when real-life issues arise. I feel like lowering the target to 900 or 1,000 points would already improve your "system". However, If they want a realistic number, they should analyze what they’ve done in past years and consider the level of effort they actually want to put into certain channels. For example, JJ already said he wants to scrap the Sidemen Reacts channel.
      It’s a typical teacher's reaction though... You can’t handle criticism because you’re used to bossing around 12-year-olds who can’t or are not allowed to talk back. In my work field, being critical and challenging one another is a must.

      Yeah. As much as the "system" helps push out videos, you can kinda tell that they don't really want to be there (which is very fair). That's why I've been slightly turned off from the Sidemen videos in the past year, even though they are still pretty good.

  • @mr_trever
    @mr_trever 2 месяца назад +19

    They should just change the card system to a rolling time frame. So say the last 6 months.
    That way, you don't get too far ahead, and if you slow down too much you will be able to catch up, but it will be possible.

  • @gabrielhicks8043
    @gabrielhicks8043 2 месяца назад +23

    I agree that there should be a baseline amount of videos in each category so you can't just grind MoreSidemen and Reacts, something like hosting a minimum of 5 main channel vids, being in 150 reacts and like 85% of MoreSidemen vids or something like that.
    To simplify things probably just have every type of MoreSidemen vid be worth 2 points, so you'd get like 6 or 8 points for being there and getting 3 or 4 videos out of a studio day or 4 points out of a single anong us session etc.
    I'm assuming that the card system would still be in place under this hypothetical points system, like a red deducts 20 points since if you get a red you lose a video which would be worth 20 points.
    Maybe there should also be a limit to the amount of videos you can do so the likes of Simon and Josh don't overwork themselves when others should be picking up the slack. Like say you can't do more than 10 main channel vids or nore than 200 reacts or something, this would also prevent you from hogging a ton of points which would lead to there not being enough points available for some others to make their quotas.

      I don’t think they are thrashing eachother. In the end it is a business which earns a of money and has 10s if not more than a 100 employees, so you want everyone to put in fair amount of work if you’re gonna divide the money equally between 7 people. So there has to be some accountability. As for discussing it in front of everyone, they have always done that and that’s why they connect with their audience so well.

      If people don’t pull their weight or slack off in a business they don’t get oh let me sit down with them because I feel bad they get fired. Certain members don’t do enough or contribute enough outside of just being in videos and it’s fair they need to change their systems. They employ a bunch of people and need to keep a machine or system going and they clearly need to change something. The way they are going about it is actually very polite consider how little some of the other sidemen do sometimes.

      This is a wild take. Even if you've only been following the Sidemen recently, you would still know that they do big productions and pump out an insane amount of content. They can't just "record videos". This is a job to them, they make money from it. They have other ventures, employees, and commitments that they have to keep in mind. Making a schedule and ensuring everyone keeps to it is probably the least that they are doing to make sure that everything runs smoothly. They should have fun while making videos, that's why we like them. But consistently putting out low effort content just for banter is not an option for them anymore
