I thought it'd be a laugh to go head to head with 2017 me and see if I could top 20. Original idea? Not really...but I'm still a bit strapped for time building stuff right now, so you'll have to let me off.

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight. If you're interested in learning more, see the ‘But How Come You're Not Fat' and 'It Was Just A Normal Day...' videos.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

Greetings people! Thanks for stopping by for another video. Tonight I thought it might be a laugh to have a bash at cracking the record for most McDonald’s Filet-O-Fish Sandwiches eaten in one sitting…currently held by, well…me. Still, I thought with contests restarting potentially later this year, it might be a good idea to see where I’m at right now compared to the 2017 version of myself, back when I ate 20 of these things in about half an hour.
Thanks so much for your perseverance; it’s been tricky trying to create fun content without being able to travel, especially at the same time as building a new filming studio, so again thanks for coming back. I’ll catch you Thursday for the next episode!

The Fillet-O-Fish, Steamed regular bun (90 secs), deep fried cod fillet (cooking time 4 mins - temp 180 C), 1 floz tartare sauce, half slice processed cheese. Funny what you remember from a job you left 20 years ago.

Not cod anymore well when I left they used a fish call hoki probably because it’s cheaper 🤣🤣

From my short time working there, the filet o fishes are actually one of the freshest because since hardly anybody ordered them, it was the only thing not always ready in the sliding ready heater so we had to make each person who wanted one wait like 3 min for theirs at the drive through
I know that they cook all the burgers to order in McD's Australia now, which is sort of why I don't love the Big Macs anymore...........always have to put it in the microwave for about 15 seconds because they're no longer sitting under the heat lamps! Have to have everything melted and warm.........! Love my Filet-O-Fish!!
That’s why you always order stuff they wouldn’t have ready.
I love the filet o fish. But I have to say it is at the top of the list of fast food items with the greatest range from great to horrible. When u get a freshly made filet o fish its fu**ing awesome. The bun is beautifully steamed and the fish is hot, flaky and delicious. My only gripe is the half piece of cheese they use. I mean c'mon. For over $4 Mickey D's should spring for a whole slice of cheese. The problem is I've had Filet O' Fish that had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. These things go from best to worst under those circumstances. The bun dries out and becomes crumbly. The cheese starts to burn and the fish literally turns into a hockey puck that can't be eaten.

I was always told that the Filet-O-Fish was the best thing to order as it’s ALWAYS freshly cooked because they sell so few they don’t ever have them sitting around.

@@justgarethsphone9663 yea, theyre like 5$ here in the US too. They taste so good but the price is way too high. The only time its really worth to get them is when they do their 2 for 5$ deal every so often. usually like once or twice a year. Id get them way more often if they were always 2.50$

And no, ive never tried to replicate their specific fish fillet. I dont think you could get the patty the same way they do it. It probably uses some industrial process that would be difficult to recreate at home. I wouldnt trust my skills lol. I have made my own fish sandwiches before but they were never attempts at replicating the mcdonalds one. Just basic fish sandwiches.

lmbo,,, this made me laugh way too hard because I do the same thing when I do cave and go get myself one....lol... I HATE mcd's and advise people against the place all the time but I can't help but to love that dam fish filet they have and find myself sneaking myself one every blue moon,,,lately I have been telling myself NO but now,, the beard has broken my will to deny myself and I WILL be treating myself to one tonight ;)

I actually like the filet of fish! A guy I used to work construction with who was a bodybuilder would down like 5 of them and I always was like dude you are nasty how can you eat those. So he gave me one and the rest is history! I usually eat one every couple months when I get the craving. The bun is always super soft and the tartar sauce is actually pretty good itself. The cheese is a bit strange to be on fish but somehow it works. If you've never tried one and you like fish I recommend it cause that soft bun and crispy fish just hits different lol

I worked at McDonald's in the 80's. True the Filet-O-Fish didn't sell very well. However, in reference to them sitting on the shelf for hours..... We only made them when someone ordered one. Also, if any item 'sat on the shelf' for 15 minutes, it was put in a particular bin. The items in that bin were counted up at the end of the shift and written down as a loss. I loved the fish sandwich and the McRib.
I friggen love a filet o fish. But hate paying full price for them 😂

Used to work in McDonalds and can confirm they're made to order. Got an order of 30 from an Asian family while I was working the station once so can sympathise with Beard's local McDonalds employees! LOL

Invented by Lou groen in 1965 for the catholic community who couldn’t eat meat on Fridays, Ray Kroc hated the idea but it made it onto the menu, you can ask for it with ketchup instead of tartare sauce, they don’t hold them more than 15 mins

I have heard that if you order it with the tartar sauce on the side you get fresh ones though. I think they are underrated, personally. My mind went down a sick rabbit hole with that alluded tartar sauce comment. All I could think about was the chunky diced pickles, lol. Still, great video. 💪😅

Nah, they're all made fresh. Don't know if it's because of the steamed bun or the fish itself though. I can't imagine either would do well sitting under a heat lamp.

Literally the only thing I eat, ever since I was a kid, at McD’s. Minus the tartar sauce cause I’m allergic to mayo. I add extra cheese instead. Generally when I go they always have to cook them fresh cause they never have any ready.

Hey Beard, I thought I'd take the time to let you know that your videos helped me get through some severe medical issues the past year. Last February when my gall bladder decided it didn't like me anymore and made my pancreas "angry"(at least that's the medical term the Drs used), and I had to be on a liquid diet for around seven months. TRUE STORY TIME! it was actually a staff member who came up with the idea for a Filet o Fish... Mcdonalds owners wanted to do a grilled pineapple slice in a bun but the crew member said they would never sell and fish would be better instead... they put both on the menu for 24 hours and which ever sold the most stayed on the menu ;)

@@matthendrickson8997 I can’t say when it was exactly but I’m going to hazard a guess and say 6-7 years ago me and a friend went to a Chinese buffet , a new restaurant that had just opened. About a couple of hours after eating we both didn’t feel good so we called it a day and went home. A day later and we were both sick as you like , in fact I’ve never been so sick in my life. We were both of work for about 4 days and I’ve never gone back to Chinese buffet since.
@@AdamGoldswain Wow! My worst Chinese buffet experience was I couldn't make it out of the restaurant without blowing up the bathroom 💩. Never got that sick from it like you did. But if I did I'd stay away.
