one thing I love about Filipino culture is that we use terms that make everyone seem related, even if they're not. So we call everyone "tita" (aunt), "tito" (uncle), "ate" (big sisters), "kuya" (big brother) regardless if they're even related.

Water can be a factor as well (with the tummy aches). My husband avoided his usual mango shakes while in the Philippines (coz he wasn't sure if they were using distilled water for the ice), and he had no tummy episodes at all during our last trip (going to the toilet). My tummy is not sensitive so I've never had trouble, but if your constitution is used to US "purified" water, then stick to bottled.
kprpearl Yes agree with you it's the water !! Whenever I go home for vacation in Manila I stick to distilled water only and don't take drinks with Ice (usually not purified water) and avoid mango shakes at all costs (again coz of the ice). Feel better Juliana and Benji.

The girl was suffering from cancer so she gave her P500K. KC is as kind as her, too. A close family friend and an aunt in America are good friends with their family.

the moment I saw Benji drank buko juice ate jackfruit and Pomelo (grapefruit) I was like, I hope he doesnt get an upset tummy after that...these fruits should not be eaten all at the same time/day.I learned that from my mama & titas. Buko juice & grapefruit are laxatives and jackfruit is hard to digest when not chewed thoroughly plus its "gassy". Hey Judy and family! Something to keep in mind is only to drink bottled water while in the PI. The tap water will definitely upset your tummies. So when you go eat out, make sure you're only drinking bottled water. This is something I was told when I went to the PI last June. Hoping JB, Benji and Auntie Mel Mel feel better!

We dont put mint in our family recipe of caldo, we do the cilantro tho. Some of the filipino food is so similar to mexican recipes!

Hey Judy and family! Something to keep in mind is only to drink bottled water while in the PI. The tap water will definitely upset your tummies. So when you go eat out, make sure you're only drinking bottled water. This is something I was told when I went to the PI last June. Hoping JB, Benji and Auntie Mel Mel feel better!
