I use a marine quality that has a firm plastic weave for the backing. Jo Ann Fabrics carries a good one I'm presently buying, it's the more heavy-duty among the vinyls they carry but I don't have a stock number. I bond it with 3-M "Fast 5200" marine bedding compound, which has a very strong bond and is sold in some hardware stores. It looks and smells like ordinary white caulk. (Long ago I raced and built sailboats.) My bags are for uilleann pipes which are blown by bellows so I don't have to worry about bacteria or trapped moisture from the breath. I use a leather bag for my mouth blown Highland pipes.
Excellent job, Thank you for posting sir, greatly appreciated 👍 🙏 😊🎵❤

Would the putty trick work on a leather bag / wood stock?
