Not playing right now because I know that the game is and will change A LOT, especially excited for campaing revamps and faction revamps, I'm always keeping an eye out on Stormgate waiting for the moment to play it again, the bones are good but it just needs work. Also, when will be the 3v3 mode available to play?
These guys are a class act for aiming to please all sorts of different types of players with such a small team. keeping my fingers crossed hoping it pays off
It seems like the best part of Stormgate is actually that the mirror matchups are improved and have more engaging gameplay elements that players can use to beat their opponents in mirror matchups compared to StarCraft 2. Mirror matchups were not good in StarCraft 2. For example using Gravens to deny bases in V versus V, or splitting against magmadons and flame imps in I versus I, or dodging animancers and kri explosions and utilizing extra energy argents when defending in C versus C.
Cool to see the push for polish and optimization. Specially optimization, that's been the main barrier for getting friends into the game. Ryker is also really unique, I wasn't expecting much.
shadows way too dark, 2:39 you'll see you cant clearly determined whose and which unit you want to move, cause the shadows overlaying the units. 4:52 yeah sure man.
A lot of the units move painfully slow. And maps feel too small for the unit populations. I get it can be strategic but most areas of the map feel like I'm fighting in a phone booth. Those are 2 of my main gripes but either way like where the game is headed. GLGL
What I hate in Stormgate Coop is that we have to play 60 games in order to get the mechanics of the heroes. Why cant we start with the new units immediately? Make the hero leveling interesting with new upgrades in game. Gear slots and upgrades are great things to unlock. Playing Rhyker level 1 is basically playing any other vanguard but more dogs. Level 16 to 20 is just some +10% uninteresting stuff. I'm not playing 100 more games just to unlock 1 gear at lvl 20.
Thanks for your resilience over the initial wave of extreme negativity. I'm not playing the game yet but I'll be there when things get real 1.0 🎉 (Even before, who knows)
sorry guys, i know you are trying really hard to make things better but that co-op hero isn't it. Really wack art design looks like this hammer dude that already wasn't cool. I hope this critique helps

The celestial Argent unit needs a reskin. It's too spiky that sometimes they look like thorns when grouped together. We appreciate that this game continues to improve. If No Man's Sky can bounce back from a disaster release and become one of the best games in the genre, anyone can.
I still feel like the animations feel not so good when they change state, when going from walk to attack for example, and still feels like they are sliding, like they lack weight because they translate while the run animation plays at the wrong speed, the translate speed needs to slow a bit while the foot contact is on to have a better weight feel, but is looking way better.
I feel like the main reason why people are not playing the game is the Fortnite graphics, not the lack of characters.... I'm no game dev, I just hope there is a new good RTS to play. Whatever you are doing, I wish you can make it more appealing for players, so it doesn't die before release.
Yes. They are however doing just that. They recently got a new art director and we had an hour long interview where we got to see behind the scenes of the new art they are working on. The Infernals will be worked on first and they will look vastly different from how they do right now. The devs are definitely listening to our concerns about the aesthetics of the game like faction identity. The new Brute design is looking really cool for example.
@Frozen_Death_Knight good to know. Took them a hyped EA release with 4500 concurrent players, and a couple of months of having literally 60-20 players online at a time. Yes I am hating and crying bla bla but MAN am I disapointed with my expectations and hopes. Leaving my beloved RTS genre. Old games got boring after a decade of playing, and new games just don't do it for me.
@@Frozen_Death_Knight What do you mean the devs are listening lol, the community cried over graphics (me included) since the start, it took them one entire year to understand they are wrong and to start changing something, but as we all know graphics are hard to change unless you have huge budget like LoL and we all know stormgate is on the edge. You need procedural generated maps. So scouting is more interesting and the replayability is significantly improved. You need more comeback mechanics like walls so player's can easily close up some ways so opponents have to adapt. You need a bit more complex economy so not almost every unit, structure and upgrade cost the same type of resources and the resources are not only harvested in a very similar way and every resource force you to specific areas on every map. There is less freedom of choice in your current game.
This is a completely different direction from the RTS style of stormgate. Those things you are asking for are present in RTS age of empires style, not in the blizzard ones.
@@MathianSC2 The same is true for scouts at the beginning of the game and for the player abilities. So Stormgate is acutally no blizzard rts when we follow your logic. "Scouts and players abilities don't change the core of the game mechanics." Ah, okay. And because the intelligent genius Prof. MathianSC2 says so, it must be true. I understand. =) "Walls would completely change the timing of the game, and your changing how resources and the map are built would completely change the game style." Finally, a real argument! But in what way does it change the playstyle? Please elaborate on how it would impact the playstyle and why such a change would be good or bad. And this conclusion is also really interesting because the concrete implementation of walls is not defined, but you also know with high certainty how the result look like. Interesting. You know that walls already exist in stomrgate? Other structures are used as it. They are just not called walls, but the type of usage is the same. And you know that trees already work as a wall with the only two differences that they exist from the beginning of the match and can be destroyed just once. But mechanically it is really like a wall. So I could mean something like that when I say walls, but you know that already because you are the intelligent genius prof MathianSC2. Interesting how sure your are while it is easy to proof how unsure everything is. So you are sure for no reason. "Warcraft 2 isn't a reference for making this type of RTS; they evolved and found their formula with Warcraft 3 and StarCraft." Ah, okay. And since the intelligent genius Prof. MathianSC2 decided this, it must be correct. I understand. =) It sounds more like an opinion than a proper argument. But, of course, the intelligent genius Prof. MathianSC2 doesn’t need arguments. Just claims. He decides when Blizzard has found their formula. And this formula is of course finished and perfect so there will never be a reason to improve (change) that. And when it changes just the intelligent genius prof MathianSC2 decide for you when it is okay and when not. And if Blizzard think in a different way MathianSC2 of course will know that. So there is no reason to believe that Blizzard are many different peoples with many different ideas and are able to change the game in the one or other direction. =) It must be so funny to think like you. You have recognized that SC2 is very different from WC3? Would be interesting how these two totally different games fit into your "formula". Especially with all that details you know that belongs to that formula. So there must be written something like. No walls, never walls again! =) And the maps are also very different. Would be also interesting to explain that how that fit into that "formula" like no walls, not procedural generated maps and an very easy economy with 2 different resources almost every unit, structure and upgrade need. Make total sense to have this type of economy. This economy is absolutely a masterpiece and should be never changed. There is of course no reason for that. It belongs to the Blizzard formula. So keeping bad things is really important for a formula. Especially for the Blizzard formula. Hm... why Stormgate changed vespin gas to tiberium from C&C? Hm... probably it belongs to the Blizzard formula. Make sense. =) "Don't take it personal, mate. I'm just telling you how things work." You make claims and believe they explain something. In reality, they explain nothing. You don’t even attempt to clarify how the playstyle would change or why it would be good or bad for the game. You don’t do so because you can’t. You’re content with making baseless claims. "They will never do this that you are asking." We’ll see. They also added early scout units, which I had suggested. So... another claim. But again, the intelligent genius Prof. MathianSC2 doesn’t need more than that. You just have to believe him. That’s all that matters. =) And by the way "They will never do this that you are asking." explains nothing. The fact is you don't know and you wish they would never do that. And it doesn't matter if they do or not, because it explains nothing. It is just one more claim. "You just don’t know how RTS works." "Don’t take it personal, mate." Oh, of course not. Why would I take it personally? There’s absolutely no reason for that. So, someone who doesn’t know me and couldn’t possibly know my background or expertise tells me what I do or don’t know. Yet another claim from you. Maybe you should change your name to ClaimianSC2-it suits you better. Don’t take it personally. =) Eat your own non arguments mate. "If you want an RTS like this, go to Age of Empires 4; it’s already there for you to play." Ah, I see. Because I don’t share your opinion, I should just leave? According to your logic, anyone who enjoys one RTS shouldn’t offer suggestions for another. After all, RTS games supposedly have nothing in common, right? And, of course, the intelligent genius Prof. MathianSC2 decides which mechanics are acceptable for a new RTS like Stormgate and which are not. We just have to trust him. No further reasoning needed. If someone likes a particular mechanic, they must want to turn one game 100% into another game. Of course. That’s the logic of the intelligent genius Prof. MathianSC2. Makes total sense. And he names that arguments and explanations. Its just a row of stupid bullshit. I think it’s completely reasonable to enjoy more than one game. It’s also fine to compare features and consider whether a mechanic from one game could work in another without turning it into a copy. But perhaps this concept is too complex for you to grasp. That’s why you rely on baseless claims-you can’t envision how great mechanics from one RTS could seamlessly fit into another. Even if that process happened 1000 times before. For instance, procedural-generated maps, at least as an option, wouldn’t affect your experience at all. But you seem unable to comprehend that an option is just that-optional. It’s not something you’d be forced to use. And yet, there’s still no valid argument as to why procedural-generated maps would harm the game. You’ve only expressed personal preferences, which aren’t valid reasons or explanations. If Age 4 would be 100% better in every case it is of course totally clear to turn Stormgate into Age 4. But Age 4 is not better in every case. It is better in just a few areas. So it makes sense to copy these areas and to adapt the game and even improve these stolen areas to make it even better than Age 4. That is how development works and not the bs you think. It's good for you that Blizzard games also have some good mechanics to keep. So the best rts is the best fusion of all good mechanics of all successful rts. So it doesn't matter from which game which mechanic come from. It matters for you so you can think you have an argument. The truth is you have just one more claim. You don't understand or can accept, of course. Otherwise you would lose your face, but the truth is you already have. You can just save it for yourself through claims and lies. So go ahead and keep lying to yourself, but you won't succeed in deceiving others. The question isn’t about choosing Game A over Game B. The real question is: Which mechanics are universally beneficial for RTS games? Some mechanics, like having a mini-map, are essential for any RTS. Similarly, worker units are a staple because they give players flexibility in building without being overpowered. That’s why C&C Generals adopted the idea from games like StarCraft, Warcraft, and Age of Empires. These games share core similarities for a reason. Copying good ideas has been a natural part of game development from the start. But you seem determined to halt this logical process because of your personal preferences. By your logic, you should only play StarCraft 2 since it already exists, and Stormgate doesn’t need to be a similar type of game. Yes, the developers have said they want to create a Blizzard-style RTS, but that’s just a general direction. There aren’t many great RTS games on the market, so they can't determine precisely their game. This leaves plenty of room for innovation. Mechanics like walls or procedural-generated maps wouldn’t fundamentally change Stormgate into a completely different game type. Just into a a game with more replayability. And even if they did, no one has proven that would be inherently bad. Maybe it wouldn’t be ideal for you, but your personal preferences don’t outweigh the arguments about what makes a good game. And what those things making with the game I have already explained. I have explained the benefits and these benefits are true for every rts. Because they are like the mini map idea. You can not like, but there is still no argument why these things are bad for a rts. And it doesn't matter for which rts. Some things are good for every rts. Like a good responsivness of the units or a good feedback for all things you do in the game. Procedural generated maps are not a matter of taste. It is just one way to improve the replayability and that is one of the core interest for every player in every game. You don't accept because one other game like Age also has this. And you also think that is unique for Age. But it isn't. It is neither unique nor does it define Age games. It is a mechanic that Age, among many other games, also has. Therefore, it has nothing to do with turning a game into Age. There are entirely different factors that contribute to that, such as a medieval setting, which neither I nor anyone else is asking for. You should focus on the arguments rather than on me because the same arguments could be made by someone else, and then your claims about me would be completely irrelevant. So it plays absolutely no role how smart I am or you are. The arguments speak for themselves. You have none and I have many. Peace out intelligent genius prof MathianSC2 =)

So keeping bad things is really important for a formula. Especially for the Blizzard formula. Hm... why Stormgate changed vespin gas to tiberium from C&C? Hm... probably it belongs to the Blizzard formula. Make sense. =)
"Don't take it personal, mate. I'm just telling you how things work."
You make claims and believe they explain something. In reality, they explain nothing. You don’t even attempt to clarify how the playstyle would change or why it would be good or bad for the game. You don’t do so because you can’t. You’re content with making baseless claims.
"They will never do this that you are asking."
We’ll see. They also added early scout units, which I had suggested. So... another claim. But again, the intelligent genius Prof. MathianSC2 doesn’t need more than that. You just have to believe him. That’s all that matters. =)
And by the way "They will never do this that you are asking." explains nothing. The fact is you don't know and you wish they would never do that. And it doesn't matter if they do or not, because it explains nothing. It is just one more claim.
"You just don’t know how RTS works."
"Don’t take it personal, mate."
Oh, of course not.
Eat your own non arguments mate.
"If you want an RTS like this, go to Age of Empires 4; it’s already there for you to play."
Ah, I see.
@Red-wb5jj I'm not here to argue about something or explaining you something, specially to someone like you. I'm telling you facts, not my problem if you accept them or not.
Concurrent Users 40 trash game
Looks tiny bit better but its still dead game
one of the reasons this game could fail is that availibility .....not everyone has a good pc to play it ...i tried run it twice seems my pc is old a little but i can run other games normally such is league of legend or sc2 or aoe 2
