Let me give you something to think about first: If three different people asked you a question: Do you have money? Have they asked you the same question? (Pause)
Why not discuss the topic about Change Management by exploring the Change Management’s Body of Knowledge by playing with its structure ie 13 chapters and 53 subchapters, imagining the process, its application, etc. Then, compare and integrate that impression with BABOK. And just to make it look flow-like, add PMBOK to the mix as well.
I also wonder, what is worth an opinion about something without knowing much about it? Why not simply demonstrate inquisitive ignorance by raising questions first and then explore your thoughts.
In my mind, Change Management is a misnomer, it should be structured around Change Leadership. Similarly, Business Analysis should be replaced by Business Acumen.
The concept of Management is almost an antonym to the concept of Leadership. Leadership applies to systems, wholeness, inclusiveness, whilst Management is essentially exploitative.practice and mindset.
If whatever you decide to do you focus on managing systems you will be on the right track. Also, consider the Iceberg Model of change, understand the meaning of Need in Marshall Rosenberg’s Non-violent communication, read John Maxwell’s 5 levels of Leadership (Management is the bottom one), compare Stephen Covey’s 8 habits vs Kotter’s 8-step change etc.
Back to my original question. Imagine the three people who asked you the question were: a robber, a homeless person, your spouse. Would you still believe they have asked you the same question? The credit to the question-story goes to a student of Budha, whilst the question was: Is there God?
