Thank you Eugene & Abraham! I thought I had watched every private and corporate Orangutan adventure video on RUclips so it was a pleasant surprise when yours popped up in my Recommendations List! I was even more pleasantly surprised when I saw the length of the vid! WooHoo! This was very nicely done good sirs and I look forward to seeing some of the other videos you have posted. OK...I am going to finish watching this vid now!
The person that was coughing their brains out shouldn’t have been near the orangutans. The large male that was rocking back and forth broke my heart 💔 why isn’t he in a larger cage where he can move around and climb if he is able to? He might not be able to depending on his history though. It’s such a huge sign of stress when they do that and long captivity like some of these beautiful animals have been sadly kept in is just awful. Thank you for this wonderful video ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for sharing . I am bed ridden so it means all of my contact with the outside world is by whatching documentary's. My favourites are the ones that are about primate's. 😀😀😀😀
Very sad to watch this. There are way to many people in the forest. All these camera noises , permanent coughing and speaking of people....listening to all the chainsaws in the back , it seems to me more like a tourist attraction. This is why they keep a few animals still alive. It makes me so sad watching this. And I don’t think it is any better by now - 20 years later in 2021. I do enjoy the voice of the person recording this. Nice and culm.... thank you for sharing. It is so sad what people do for money. Indonesia is a poor country. Don’t buy any products including Palm oil. It’s nearly in any product we humans find in a supermarket or drug store. What a shame. We are stripping Mother Earth of her last resources. 😭
I don't know if I could set there and watch that Orangutan pace back and forth like that without not opening the cage and let it out but that wouldn't be very responsible either would it but damn man you are strong Humans to not do it brother. 😊
It was a learning process. Orangutans were behind Gorillas and chimps in being researched so heavily. They have learned a lot about educating them for a life in the wild since 1991. You have to start somewhere...at least they were trying, and employing poor locals who would otherwise quite possibly be illegal loggers or poachers.

I can just imagine what that kid does when people aren’t watching
Your background picture in 1st minute was also deforestation of pine trees. Surely that also made the habitat of certain animal gone.
Lovely.
They are not playing, they are teasing and pissing it off.
You say those fellows know how to interact with the orangutans but they are clearly annoying that poor creature with their constant prodding
For 1991 that thing has is better camera than a lot of people cell phones

They are pets . Tame just like at all the sanctuaries where they hoard tens of thousands of baby orangutans.

This isn't a good program, these guys aren't trained, and the guy with the stick is behaving badly. Lonna, or Lorna Neilson had a great program.
