I love every episode with the Colmans. People who haven't seen Ronald Colman's films can't fully appreciate the genius of their recurring roles. And the writing. Wow, best written show (radio and TV) ever.
Lol! 18:30 - 18:53 So classic - one of my favorite bits from Jack Benny is that slow call-and-answer gag - usually it's Jack & Rochester, but Ronnie & Benita do it so well here. (Especially considering the "Ronald Coleman hates Jack Benny" running gag). Also 19:47 - 20:43, I know people who actually do this for inspirational speeches. Person: Numerical value of this word is 19 which is the same as this concept, so Word A obviously represents and connects with Word B. Me: No, the value is actually 21. Person: Not if you subtract 2 for whatever (vague, bs-style) reason.
This script was staged again on January 23, 1955, and as a filmed TV episode on February 9, 1958 [with Jack's sponsor, "Mr. Lewis", in Colman's place].
This is it, this episode represents the apex of Jack’s career....that includes Vaudeville, the silver screen and television. Stunningly hilarious 😆
The episode hit on all cylinders; excellent writing, excellent acting, and excellent sound effects.

It's always funny when Ronnie and Benita stop by. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, but it was better on radio. The TV version was too time constrained and lacked the Coleman’s.
what is the yodel saying?
Even in the 40s it was common knowledge wrestling was staged.
