@@mariana7802not at all. The most common issue my dogs had was their ears needed to be cleaned often because they had tight ear canals. Easy to do though and easy to keep up with. Very few vet visits and very good dogs.
love this video!! We're hoping to get a puppy later this year so would love more of these videos please El when you get chance :) Also, where did you get the dog camera from / brand please? x
Thank you so much!!🥰🥰 definitely going to do another soon as she can now go out on walks finally!🙌🏼 I got it from Amazon it’s called the “winees Pet Camera” xx
She’s now 2yrs old and has been on the same food since we first got her! Shes on country dog hypoallergenic biscuits and also wet food tins! Has biscuits on offer throughout the day and a tin mixed with biscuits every evening:)
Telling everyone here these are the smartest dogs I’ve ever owned and trained. 3 days for them to know their name. 5 days to potty train. 2 hours to “kennel” train. Within 1 week she was pretty good to go. And the most gentle thing ever. But the most best guard dog. The negative thing is they are 1 family attachment. They will always look for you. ALWAYS!
@@mariana7802 the only issue is the eyes and ears. So I suggest you buy health insurance for your dog. ASPCA is a good one. Most of the time they need eye surgery. And the ears if you don’t train your dog early in doing your own ear flushes with vinegar and rubbing alcohol then they tend to get repeated ear infections. But other than that they are completely fine.
she's beautiful, can I ask you how you found the breeder to get her. I have found some breeders on facebook and AKC marketplace and I can't tell if it's super important for breeders to do eye tacking on the puppies/ health testing since they are a unique breed Thanks!!
We found our breeder through pets4homes and they are so lovely and you can tell they really care about where and who their puppies go too! (Our parents have since got one of their puppies aswell) cleo was the only puppy out of her litter to get her eyes tacked, they wait till a certain age so then they give them time to try and develop themselves but with cleo her lashes were pointing inwards and would’ve eventually damaged her eyes if they didn’t get tacked. She has never had a problem with them, the job was done so well.
Keep your health insurance current on this little girl. You will need it later on unfortunately. Great dogs but require a lot of health maintenence, ear cleaning, clean skin, etc. Congrats, enjoy her!
Thank you for this, I want one so bad but as a stay at home mom I can't afford recent ver trips 😭 wish they weren't so high maintenance wise ! I want one so bad
They aren’t as high maintenance as everyone says they are! They sometimes have health problems just like any animal but if looked after and cared for correctly then they aren’t high maintenance at all
I had a Blue(gray) Sharpie boy and he was the best dog ever. Easy to take care of, gentle with everyone, smart, and a good guard dog.
Sounds beautiful. I've been hearing they are high maintenance (health wise) to care for is that true?

aww i made a ista for my dog when he was a baby as i can look back on him growing up an now he has more friends then me 😂 .
Exactly! So nice for the memories!! Haha I think that will be the case with me and cleo too!🤣🤣
Aren’t Shar pei allergic to chicken ??
I think that allergy is mainly inherited. My Shar pei doesn’t have that issue though

I had a Sharpei for 15 yrs, apart from the fevers they get from time to time.lucky no health or skin problems if you look after them properly
@@bernadettesolomons1870same ! 2 shar pei at home( one horse coat and one brush coat) 12 years and 2 years old. Never had one skin problem.

The bad thing is existing conditions of peis Are Not covered by pet insurance.
