I’ve yet to actually see someone do this and if I’m wrong, please point it out.

@@pamvarner8044 Mizuki Ichirou was so much more than just Pirate King though. He was the herald of the Super Robot genre and recognized by Go Nagai himself as the reason the Super Robot genre ever got as big as it did in the first place. He was The Emperor of Anime Songs. He was the founder of JAM Project. He was Aniki, The Big Brother, of the anisong genre and all of its singers. He was a legend, and his death marks the beginning of the end of an era.
The original Harlock series is one of a kind!

Earlier this morning, I learned that Ichiro Mizuki died, last week. He may be known for his hotblooded Super Robot anthems, like Mazinger no Uta, Storm, and the like. However the none of those are my fave of his. THIS is, due to its introspective melancholia, stirring romanticism, powerful lyrics. Its final lines are a "Inochi wa sutete, Ore wa ikiru/I throw away my life, and live on". As such I feel it sums Aniki up the best.
The man was a legend who threw his life away for his fans, and through us he lives on. He continued performing for us even after he got sick. He continued performing even AFTER lung cancer diagnosis. He continued performing until he he was not physically able to. He gave us everything he had, including his last breath. Rest in peace Aniki. You've earned it. Thank you for all that you did for us.
And now Leiji Matsumoto has passed away as well...

They need to use the 1978 music pieces if they ever bring this back as a series in the future because it's very fitting and it actually would be very nostalgic for longtime fans of the series and I for one love it for music especially

If they ever did remake the series, odds are there would be hints of the old score but not exact. Probably more instrumental or rock influenced. Who knows.
