    Just came back from Lisbon/Madrid/Barcelona/Venice/Rome trip, watched lots of your videos, very helpful, thank you.
    I pre-booked all the hotels, planes, trains and some major places: such as Sagrada familiar, Park Guell, bacillica in Venice and Vatican museum etc.. I walked a lot in every city, over 10 km easily everyday.
    The day we went to Park Guell, all the tickets were sold out, it is a park !
    I love Madrid and Barcelona, so beautiful and very clean, will definitely go back in the future.
    i was very worried about pick pocketing, actually it is quite safe if you keep your things in front of you.. I went out every night, stayed at Atocha and Catalunya, very convenient.
    We also use many times of taxi in Lisbon, Madrid, Barcelona, all the Taxi drivers were good, I think transportation and food are much cheaper there.
    I think everybody should go to see Sangrada Familiar once in her/his life time.

      The high speed train from Madrid to Barcelona is much smoother and faster than the one from Venice to Rome, and I booked comfort seats, the service were wonderful. And you can book extra seat online at Ryanair too, that was great!
      yesterday I went to Belem by subway and tram 15, I was terrible on direction, when I asked an old gentleman on the train at Baixa-Chiado station if the train goes to Rossio, he literally pushed me off the train, and told me to get off there for a transfer, so like an idiot, i got off and went up and of course, ended catching the next metro, :) it was almost 11:30am and I needed to check out at 12:30pm..
      I am sure he had a wonderful story to tell all his pal that how he fooled a silly lady.🤣🤣.. anyway, I did enjoy every city during our visit, because I walked lots of places that probably many tourists did not go. it was safe, and the food, delicious !

    We also got back from our trip to Barcelona followed by a cruise. Your videos of Barcelona helped us prepare for our trip and made it a much more enjoyable trip! We felt more comfortable having you indoctrinate us to Barcelona so we were more relaxed and could enjoy the experience more! I appreciated you answering any question I had. Poblenou was such a nice area and the Metro was a great advantage to getting us around. We did end up purchasing the Barcelona Card that came with the Hola card and it was nice knowing we had both when we needed them. We did not end of using all of your info, but that will be used on our next trip! Thank you Tony!

Your advice and "Insider tips" on where to stay, eat, dine are spot on when it comes to assisting this frugal, misadventurer. Hi, thanks for your great videos - really helpful! Do you have any advice around the best time to visit the Sagrada La Familia to avoid the biggest crowds, also are their any tips on getting discounts for entry to it? Thanks.

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  3 месяца назад +1

      It is truly difficult to avoid the crowds in Barcelona, but try the very first time of the day, when you will not find so many visitors inside the temple. There are no discounts for the Sagrada Familia, but make sure you watch this video ruclips.net/video/puD7LKTiplA/видео.html

    Tony, Thank you for the tips about not eating on La Rambla or in the Mercat de la Boqueria. The food in these places is really much more expensive. Just one or two blocks off La Rambla, you can easily find much better food at half the price, except Passeig de Gracia, which can be very expensive too. I had a 36-euro seafood paella at La Taperia in the EL NACIONAL on Passeig de Gracia.😂😛

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  9 месяцев назад

      Wow, 36€ is so expensive! El Nacional is a place to be seen, not to be eaten at. There are good eateries in the Passeig de Gràcia region, but not on the main avenue. At least we hope you liked it.

    Hello,
    Thank you for offering such practical and exhaustive-like videos :)
    Regarding the Sagrada Familia various people can't follow your advice of buying the ticket on the official website as it is unfortunately not secured enough.. Yes, it doesn't accept dual authentication required by more and more banks to limit the fraud..

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  7 месяцев назад

      Hi and thank you for your words. The problem is rather the opposite, the Sagrada Familia site uses 2FA and an extra security protocol common in Europe called "3-D Secure". Non-compliant foreign credit cards are blocked.

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  7 месяцев назад

      Tip: try using the Sagrada Familia app to purchase the tickets.

    Thank you for your videos. They are very informative. I am going to be in Barcelona for 4 days in Feb. I am wondering if you have seen something called a Barcelona Essentials card. I see this come up when I do google searches but I do not know if this is a legitimate card or some sort of scam.
    I believe that the Barcelona card that you have spoken about is from the official tourist offices.
    Thank you for your time.

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  Год назад +1

      Hello, we had a quick Look at the card and when you add the value of what the card includes, you quickly realize it is not a good deal. It is not a scam, but you'll overpay for the tickets. We have actually spoken against the Barcelona Card, as we don't think it is a good deal. The one we recommend is the Modernista Card: ruclips.net/video/DdI8q2ExeHo/видео.html
