I cannot emphasise how great this is - seeing the actual labels is super helpful as I'm not a big Kanji reader and like to see where I should be looking (Going in October 2024 and I've got an intolerance - it won't kill me so I'm probably going to just take peptol bismol for the worst of it but... yeah)

Thank you so much. Yes I am a coeliac going to Japan this coming September. Your information is great but you don’t mention soy sauce - we can't eat that. And could you repeat the pronunciation of the words a few times and slowly so we can be sure. But thank you so much for this video. It has allayed my worries a little. X

I have to be honest, I was munching on snacks, watching a 24 hour bento restaurant, and decided I'd look up celiac/gluten free in Japan because my mum has celiac and I'm supposed to eat gluten free too. It's very expensieve in the U.S. to buy groceries, often we have to charge it on a credit card.

I'm planning to try and visit in 2022 (when things are hopefully better for traveling). Because of my allergies, I'm very worried about what I'll be able to eat while in Japan. Thank you for this video! The basic phrases and symbol/label identifications help a lot. My second major allergy is soy, so no Soyjoy for me! Lol But at least I'm more reassured about avoiding gluten.

If you’re allergic to soy as well, pls try not have miso soup as well. Hope your visit will be a great one!

Most Japanese foods use wheat flour, so this video was useful.

@@natsumi6115 I am wondering, why is that? Why have the japanese started adding wheat flour to their dishes? Being that wheat is a most unhealthy cereal.
