  • Someone told me Jalan Sukarjo Wiryopranoto great street food. I think this person meant there is great steak food there, since there is a steak restaurant... That isn't exactly the case, but I did find a little gem of a stall with the traditional local jamu drinks. Jamu means traditional herbal medicine in Indonesia. I had no idea which drink to choose, so said give me the strong man medicine. He created a potion of herbs, a raw egg, and some alcohol. Was it delicious? Not quite, but I loved it anyway. It was bitter sweet. :) I then ordered a shot of rajawali to wash it all down. Total cost was 25,000rp.
Next, I found a hot ginger drink stall. This is called Jahe. The menu had various options to choose from , including with honey, raw chicken egg, raw duck egg, etc. I chose the basic hot ginger drink and it was fantastic! It was so spicy that I started to hiccup. Top quality. Price 6,000rp.
Then I kept walking down the same road and ordered a freshly juiced apple juice for 20,000rp. The staff were as friendly as could be.
You gotta love to travel this city. The Indonesian people are so kind and friendly.
