      I find the best thing you can do when you get frustrated and hit the point where you're only getting worse is to take a break. Go make a sandwich/have a snack, take a walk or whatever for at least 10min in silence. Your brain will have some time to process the info of what you've just done and you'll be immediately better and more focused when you get back.
      Realized this when I would spend hours learning new songs on Bass in my teen years. Made a huge difference!

    You must be the only one that emphasizes the psychological aspects of Sim Racing. I love it! So easy to beat up yourself because you may not be focused or just having a bad day from other influences in life. Happens to me. I just turn it off, and come back another day with a more positive approach. I was getting frustrated with the 911 Porsche Cup car in iRacing as its so difficult. I turned it off, and did some research from some real drivers as well as sim drivers like "Dave Cam" and what a difference! The car is now doing what i want it to do.

    What can I say ? Absolutely genial: I have believed exactly what you said for many many years myself; "the emotional connection to the lesson gives you the potential to learn". I often hear fast drivers talking about "tyre overheating on the exit here, low grip on entry there" and I just can't believe or connect to it. And I don't learn. It helps so much listening another person "complete the circle" because us humans being what we are, need to be led to water at times. I know exactly what you mean, but I don't understand it in the pyramidal order you do. And driving is a non-commutative operation I fear. I have never seen anyone talk about what matters this way, for example I always read "be smooth to be fast" which is just journalist rubbish - when infact I seemed to go quicker when the car was a touch overdriven. I was amazed when in the last part you confirm just that experience: "to go faster learn the language of the car, learn to write its words beautifully on the racing line, learn to hold the pen in every different way" - so thank you sincerely for this completely unique and fundamental series on the art of driving yourself to progressively higher limits.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  3 года назад +1

      That was so beautiful post to read Jack ❤️ I truly hope wen those series end the have the fundamental basics and everyone just can understand and feel what is going on ! Smooth driving aggressive driving slow in fast out fast in trail braking weight transfer different apexes ..... all this have its point and time ! I really hope wen I’m done with all those series who ever really get emotionally involved to finish the last one as a different person and understanding! Im aware not everyone will but some will have huge benefit and not only from driving point of view 😃 thank you for that beautiful post buddy 🤛❤️

      @@chepilevski 🤗❤️ I think this series is going to be a very significant contribution in transforming good drivers into Championship material. Like many others here I really find it is putting in the missing pieces into my heart - because that is where I drive quick laps from, the heart. I am cruising around at 2 secs off alien times generally these days and your series is answering so many questions I have had for so long (in the parallel sense). My rig is in pieces for maintenance, but as soon as it is back up, I'll be working hard to learn this philosophy and implement it in the pyramidal order you seem to know so naturally. Wonderful, charismatic, motivating stuff. It reminds me of the Senna and Mansell documentaries - in the sense of how they used to make me feel.
      PS Wasn't it Graham Hill that said "I am an artist. The track is my canvas, and the car is my brush." ?

    "Ignore the leading car" - I agree with that - especially with the example you mentioned (ending up out of the track becuase we kept following the car ahead). However, I think that there's one "but" when you can't actually ignore the car ahead... early braking. Considering we talk about multiplayer experience (and quite likely open lobby), then such thing happens during the race. We can't ignore the fact somebody is confused and breaks way too early. We will need to react fast and adjust our plan to the mess made by the car ahead. I think it points nicely to what you also mentioned in this video - plan ahead. Being close to the car ahead and approaching a corner without the plan and not having a plan B in case things go south is a recipe for a disaster, don't you think?

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  3 года назад +6

      Ah yes , I agree with that ! I didn’t mean to ignore like is not there but to not watch the car as driving mark but look for your own 😃 I hope there is no big misunderstanding 🤭😁

    • @GUN69_
      @GUN69_ 3 года назад

      @@chepilevski no, not at all. It was clear in your video. I was just eager to bring some extra topic of breaking while following the car. I remember watching Aries from Kunos explaining in one of his video how easy it is to crash in someone in a split of a second while following the car in a high speed

    • @DiViNiTY1337
      @DiViNiTY1337 3 года назад +1

      You can kind of ignore the leading car then as well, and that is in this scenario - when you have followed the car ahead for a few laps and you know his braking points and if he is consistent with them, and if you are not quick enough to naturally catch up and be able to make a lunge, what you need to do is simply add exactly one car length extra distance to your braking mark. What that ensures is that, as long as you are as good as or better than the car in front on braking, you will never run into the back of him. If you are so much as millimeters away from his rear, as long as you start to brake one car length behind his braking point, you will start braking exactly when he does, and as such, slow the car down at the same rate as he is doing.
      As an extra positive point about this is the closer you are, the more stressed the car in front will be, and the more likely it is he will make a mistake. When he inevitably runs wide, you can just go up the inside and off you go!

    • @GUN69_
      @GUN69_ 3 года назад

    Btw..Slow in fast out. My fastest corners so far were the ones that were on, almost off the limit. Slightly sliding towards the apex, gripping up and keeping momentum. But that's like lottery. I'm willing to learn tho and your videos help A LOT

    Again top video, Understanding Weight transfer is key to keeping control, That's for sure, I am tho getting fed up of going online an people seem to think its fun to wait in middle of track an smash me off, Was 2nd place in a 10 lap race on AC the other day an someone decided to destroy my position on the last corner, ACC is worse, I can never get my points up online coz people either don't practice or can't drive, An destroy my safety points I build up, Either way it's putting me off sim racing just when I am getting good times, There is always somebody online who finds it more fun to crash into people all the time, I blame there mothers at the end of the day, Something needs to be set up, You have to beat a certain time on the track to race that race, Like a 1 or 2 lap qualify just for that race, No qualification no race, Because AC is becoming GT sport an it's putting me off taking sim racing seriously, Coz I do take it seriously, Sim Racing helps my mental health problems so it is more than just a game to me, Can something be done about people purposely smashing other people coz it's going a bit to far now, Top video tho....

      @@chepilevski I am trying lol, I love racing too much to just stop coz other people can't gain the same skills, An see it more fun to destroy another person's fun, I only got basic entry sim set up aswell, My rig is not exactly Boosted Media spec's lol, I admire Will's enthusiasm in turning a channel on RUclips into one of the best Sim Rigs put together, My life would be in that room lol, I would put the cooker an fridge in the room if I had it, lol, Dude deserves it, Takes lot of work at the end of the day, But yeah I only got less than your box standard rig at the moment, Logitech tho I upgraded the brake a bit lol, Standard equipment an I still getting 1.48 on Monza, 6.40s on Norsh, I am buying the new fanatec DD coming out shortly, That is in my price range if I can get my hands on one, lol, I can see a lot of people investing on one just for having the spare, I wonder how more portable it is how much lighter, I know its 5nm isn't it?, lol, But yeah Fanatec have done a good thing for the sim racing world, Making direct drive accessible for people on a budget like me, Then I will be able to compare my driving abilities from Logitech to Fanatec DD wheel, From what I have seen the pedals namely the brake tho, I don't have the experience of trying the load cell, I like the Fanatec v3 pedals myself the look is spot on in my eyes, It is what it is at the moment I try to save to buy these things but it seems too costs more just to survive, I am trying to get my head into a you tube channel, I wants to take my electric monster scooter to Brecon Beacons, It's not far away from me an wants to show people who like going out on electric scooters places to do a personal little tour, On their electric scooter or electric bike, But the complex PTSD I suffer is making it hard for me to put into action, I will do it, It might just take me a little longer, Therapy is going OK tho, So few months an I will put the RUclips plan into action, I am about to stick my head into ACC, Bust some hot laps, Still trying to find a racing line I am best at, An how fast I can get away with a few corners before I go off, lol, That corner on Spa you can do at top end lol, I can't seem to get it at top end, Never works, It mind boggling seeing people fly over it an I can't ever, lol, No corner is ever the same see especially in a race, an that's the buety of sim racing, I will look into some leuges soon when I gained a few better times an gained more confidence of when someone is behind me, But I am getting better every day, Until I go into an online lobby on AC, lol, Keep the positiveness coming with your vids, You give top advice an direction is respectable in many ways, Nice one, An stay safe yeah....

    2 things that strike home.
    1. Do not follow the mistakes of the leading car, sometimes in the heat of battle I replicate their mistakes when i am really really hunting them down I get what we say tunnel vision and focus too much on the leading car and forget about my plan and markers.
    2. Overdrive your car, that's a nice one, in the sim we afford to have as many crashes as we want without consequences, a luxury you do not have IRL. In practice you will often see me spin, crash, scrape walls etc, my wife sometimes watches me OMG your driving is so F****d up and then I go to the race and win it with no incident and she can't understand the instant transformation. I explain that in practice I totally overdrive the car to learn the absolute limits of the car and the track, experiment with different lines and if I crash I just reset, when in a race I already know the limits and the behavior of the car under different circumstances and dial it down a notch for the race.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  3 года назад +1

      Absolutely 💪💪💪 just being able to have control beyond the limits gives you so much more confidence to push hard ! I usually warm up in the first 15 min and then i start driving like mad max to see what can I get and what to expect 😃

    There is no better thing in the world when you find more time in your absolute best run. When you look back what was your absolute best back then thinking it's almost impossible to go faster. Now you well past it and reached an other limit thinking the same again. And you know some time later you will be past this limit too think about how impossible it felt to be faster than that yet you did it again. There is no better motivation exists. I remember when it all started with F1 2014 game. I was barely able to catch a slide. Now I don't even want to play with F1 games because it feels to arcade. At the moment I'm around 3sec slower than the top 1 laptimes. It feels impossible to reach those times but I know in the future I will look back to this point and thinking about how easy actually is that feels so impossible now.
