Very nice video I have the Cricut explorer. Does the laser cuts faster? I also understand that you can stack several sheets of cardstock together and cut them at the same time with one pass in the laser machine Thank you!
Generally the laser will cut faster. You could stack paper in a laser, I've never tried it, just make sure it's held together well and doesn't move. Could make for very quick cutting.
For the Cricut, you can use material on a mat that is up to 12x12. If you are cutting vinyl or iron on, you can opt for the smart vinyl and cut without a mat up to 12 feet long. For xTool, the working area for all flat materials is just under 12x12.
I’m interested in buying a machine, and my main focus is cutting 2mm and 3mm chipboard, leather, synthetic leather, and paper leather. I’m currently deciding between the xTool M1 and the Silhouette Curio 2 (I believe it’s similar to the Curio). Any advice or recommendations? Thank you! TERESA
While chipboard can be cut with a blade using the Curio, it's going to go so much faster with a laser. Same with leather. You'll be able to cut it in one pass with a laser in less time. The M1 might be a better option.
Liked and subscribed. I came to hear your take on the M1 ultra versus the Maker and you were super helpful. Thank you!
I am planning to start a side hustle making stickers. Deciding which cutting machine to get is hard. That's why I love this video very helpful!

What are the maximum job sizes for each? Very helpful video!

An i cut thick chipboard with the laser on m1
do you have to have a sort of monthly subscription to use the design space in Cricut?
There is a free version with access to lots of images and features. But there is also a monthly subscription with access to everything.
Very nice balanced comparison Thanks :)
The difference in price is huge, so it's more about what you can afford. Isn't that the difference between a Benz or a Hyundai?
Yes I definitely talk about that, it's a big price difference. I wanted to compare them to help potential users understand what they were getting.
I already have a Cricut Maker 3 with most of the tools. But now I really want a laser. 😢
Look at the original M1, it has a blade as well but the laser is the same as the M1 Ultra. And it comes in at a much lower price.
i am just concerned that the M1 ultra is doing too much makes it easier to break
