The theory behind cheetahs being inbred is that at some point in their history their population dropped ridiculously low (I don’t recall the exact reason), so all of the cheetahs currently living are descended from maybe a couple dozen from one particular area. Habitat loss and poaching is just making that ten times worse, too.
