Found this channel out of nowhere and glad this video is my first video on this channel as Flying Battery, Lava Reef and Hydrocity are my favorite zones in Sonic 3 and Knuckles
Flying Battery makes more sense returning in multiple games than Green Hill. Green Hill is on a specific island, and while that island moves, it is still a separate landmass than other places. Flying Battery however is a vehicle and a fortress.
I dunno if I would call this the "Best" Sonic 3 level, but it's still good. I don't even mind the miniboss. I'll agree that Eggman blowing up his own ship is dumb, but that's really the only bad thing. People talk about the Ice Cap music more because that's one of the supposed Jackson tracks. So yeah, I like this level.
Honestly the only bad parts are the miniboss (could be expanded upon) and the over void platforming. It goes quickly when mastered but it’s difficult to get good at and it’s very annoying to either go really slow and safe or fall into the void over and over. Other than that I like it a lot
Is it me or this guy has almost the same takes on classic levels as me? Man i guess we're sharing the same mindset. Nice seeing someone likes this stage
Sonic Manias Flying Battery is FAR better than in Sonic 3, and I think it’s the best zone in that game too. Lava Reef is a close second. Mania is just peak in every way. It’s just a shame encore mode couldn’t be like how Christian Whitehead wanted it to be.
This level does present one small problem that's in most sonic games (except cd 😉) is that it isn't as player driven. There are moments when the game doesn't really let you control or doesn't offer much to do as you hold forward. Like the screw section where you sre stuck and it adds up to 30 seconds and elevators and just a lot of waiting around. Dont even get me started with right before the boss of act 2. Sonic cd has none of that 😏
@@KrheanosIsland I knew you'd bring it up. It's the only level where it has lack of player driven level design, but also has a closed level design like the other sonic games Fortunately it can be completely skipped 😎
Ithink its a 8/10 in sonic 3 cuz that one bottomless pit part😡 but in mania its a 6/10 i had to reapet act1 of flying battery in sonic mania 5TIMES buts its still really a brilliant zone
…. I Absolutely HATE this zone Actually Tho ITSS SOOOO ANNOYINGGGGGGGG AND ITS TAKES FOREVERRRRRR TO BEAT Like i only enjoy flying battery WITH mods on (Unless its manias)

(btw your voice changed a lot from 6 months ago jeez)
I think it's the mic 🎤
For a leader zone in sonic 3 and knuckles it manages to execute everything perfectly from the speed to the platforming
Ngl the only good thing about this zone is the music
